Welcome to the Historic Morgue! An eerie ambience greets you upon arrival..the history runs deep for this building. This antique, nationally recognized, historic building offers antique decor with a modern twist! Morgue decor throughout, rightly so..paying homage to its dark history. This is a loft setting offering a king bed, full size bed, twin and an antique settee(possibly suited for a small child). A large kitchen with small breakfast seating as well as a large table! And that bathroom!

We are located two minutes from the town square but you will enjoy our country setting. Small farmhouse, private fenced and gated yard, on a tiny farm on a gravel road. Host next door has dwarf goats, chickens, ducks, guineas (1 pair regularly visits/patrols the guesthouse yard), a goose, and a couple of dogs. Horses live across the road and around the curve and up the hill. Eggs and some other basic food items included! Five minutes to Springfield, 35 minutes to Branson. on James River. Bed/ bath are downstairs. Kitchen\living area are upstairs. Great deck for deer, turkey and star gazing. Bring your kayaks,, tubes or noddles, This is a small river. No power boats. You can also fish from the bank. Convenient to Branson & Silver Dollar City which is one of the top destinations for Christmas Lights and Bass pro is close with WOW museum. Main house is 500 yards away on 5 acres.

The James River Cabin is a luxurious secluded cabin nestled among the trees on 95 acres of river front property. It is just 10 short miles from Springfield, MO (Buc-ee’s and Bass Pro) less than an hour from Branson, MO. On-site activities are numerous and include bicycling, trail hiking, utv trail riding, kayaking, fishing, hot tubbing, and swimming in your own personal paradise. The river access is a short but fun two minute utv drive from the cabin.
