Vacation rentals with a fire pit in Otter Tail Lake

Our 4th year in a row staying here, my BFF Dan and I feel like we're coming to our home away from home. It feels personal...so familiar and comfortable. We feel so much gratitude for the type of place this is - it's comfortable, cozy, homey feel, and the type of homeowners Cari Beth and Erich are - personable, incredibly kind, and so willing and happy to accommodate their guests. How often do you become friends with the owners?? Such a special place, owned and cared for by truly special people.

We had a family emergency and Scott adjusted our rental to meet our needs. The home was everything we could have hoped for and the peace and beauty of the surroundings helped us heal. One of the most beautiful and well equipped Air BnB we’ve ever stayed at.

Great location very close to the lake. The house is well cared for and very clean. The stairs are worth noting depending on the renter's physical ability though. We will gladly consider this rental again next summer. Thanks for having us in Alex for the week.

The place was beautiful, it felt open and cozy at the same time. We really appreciated how family friendly the place is, our little one loved playing with the toys. Although Detroit Lakes is a popular summer destination, we had an awesome time this winter - the ski resort is great and there’s also cross country ski trails and snowshoeing.

We had a great stay in Park Rapids celebrating a family wedding in town. Our only issue was finding the place — the address needs to be corrected for Google maps to take you to the right place. Easily fixed. Other than that, we had everything we needed and we enjoyed our time there. Would definitely recommend for a large group. Thank you!

We enjoyed the docks and being by the water as well as all the water toys and pontoon. Melissa was quick to respond when giving information about the pontoon and places to go. We’d come again. Loved the guest house for extra sleeping area. Thank you Melissa. We had no issues and felt comfortable during our stay.

A high quality place to relax for a few days by water. Very nice and lots of beds for a big group. Tom was very responsive, informative, and helpful if needed. Would recommend.

This house is absolutely incredible to see in person, and I feel so fortunate to have been able to stay in an historic home! Mary was a very-responsive host, checking in to see if anything was needed plus providing helpful instructions for my stay. I can't wait to stay here again in the future! You will not be disappointed in this home; it is even more beautiful and impressive than the pictures reflect, and I felt right at home. Great place and we will definitely return in the future. Trisha & Chris are kind and very hospitable. The apartment is clean and well equipped. Beautiful, peaceful location but just a short drive into town. We look forward to our next visit!

I have stayed at Bee and Paul's place (both upstairs and down) five times this year, and each time has been incredible. Both places are comfortable, clean, welcoming and filled with everything you might need and then some! I love this house and can't imagine staying anywhere else in Fergus Falls. Everybody is incredibly responsive, it's easy to check in and out, and the neighborhood is among my favorite places to walk. Just can't say enough about this house and these hosts!

Breezy Shores Resort is a collection of two-story townhouses right on the lake. Our unit was well-equipped, beds were comfortable and the gas fireplace in the living room helped to warm the apartment quickly upon our arrival on a cold spring night. We had four days of cold, wet weather and we were glad to have a comfortable place to spend those days. Then the sun came out, the days warmed up and being right on the lake made our last four days really wonderful. Everyone we encountered in the office was immediately helpful and responsive. Nearby restaurants served us well -- we especially recommend cheeseburgers at Shorewood Pub, we had an excellent carry-out pizza from Zorbaz, and also can recommend nearby Bleachers and the Long Bridge Bar and Grill. This was an excellent stay and we definitely would come back.

Bee and Paul’s was very beautiful to stay at. The scenery was amazing and the hot tub was perfect for the night we utilized it. They had very great communication and Paul was really helpful with every question we asked. We went there for a bachelorette party and their recommendation list provided was a great guide to local restaurants. Location was great as it was private yet a larger town was only 15 mins away in case we needed anything. Thank you for having us!

Stephanie answered all of questions, made check in and out easy and had a clean and conformable cabin.

Everything was as described and well explained inside the cabin. The toilet didn’t smell at all. There were plenty of kitchen utensils and two electric heaters. The space was clean and comfortable. The two things I didn’t know (which is on me) were: the only way to cook is with a microwave or electric skillet - no cooktop and the beds are three compartments in the walls as shown in the photos. I was fine alone but it may be tight for some or a couple. Bed was very comfortable. Overall the stay on beautiful Shell Lake was worth it.

The Barrett cabin is a great place to stay!

My family and I truly enjoyed our trip to Scott's property. The house fit our big crew quite well. The beds were very comfortable. The kids loved the fun spaces in the house. The location was beautiful and peaceful. While there is a lot of vegetation along the lakeshore, there is a decent beach, and some shallow water that the smallest kids were able to enjoy. For the bigger kids, we brought the lily pad out to the middle of the lake, and they had a blast with that. The outdoor living space was great! Scott was friendly, helpful, responsive.

House is a newer construction so it’s nice. Most everything you need to be able to sustain without trips to the store. There was a couple missing key items but it’s a newer air bnb but I’m sure the owner will work it out.

Place is in one of the most beautiful locations on the lake, a great neighborhood. Sarah was very responsive and went above and beyond!

I’ll have to say that might be one of my favorite lake cottages I’ve stayed in. It was clean, simple and cozy. The yard was very well kept . Great views . Sitting on the dock listening to the waves roll in on shore and relaxing in the gliding rocker chair after a long day was a treat Thank you again for the comforting stay.
