Gîte "des Ecuries" 8 pers au Château de Beaumesnil

florianRating, 5 stars18 months ago
Ideal stay for two families with children able to share bunk beds. No wifi, but we are not at Beaumesnil castle to spend your time on the web. The real interest of this cottage that remains expensive is the access to the castle park which is most of the time closed: a door to the cottage overlooks the interior of the castle, with an access in a huge garden full of farm animals, a paradise for kids, peacocking, geese, sheep, ducks, ducks, goats, pony. We were even able to visit the Chateau de Beaumesnil for free, the drawbridge was down. The heater works perfectly. Only Repproche: a corkscrew was missing… and that… would almost deserve a star less haha. Dear, but EXCELLENT VALUE for MONEY for families with children between 5-12 years old, especially to discover the countryside. Very proactive, nice hosts, hosting the castle in support. Super flexible check-in and checkout. (we left around 5pm) Congrats!!!

Chateau estate, 90 min from Paris, 16 people

ArnaudRating, 5 stars13 months ago
Perfect weekend with friends at the Miserai. The Chateau is very pleasant despite the weekend temperatures (-8 per night!). The hunting room was perfect for hosting the anniversary of the weekend! Celine recommended a good catering address to us and it was very convenient. The brewery on the estate is not to be missed.

Chateau de Tocqueville, heritage to share

ZheRating, 5 stars6 months ago
Staying in Stephanie and her family’s Chateau de Tocqueville was absolutely a five star experience to us. We spent three night here in the castle but found it’s absolutely not enough to experience the property. We could utilize four floors with five stylish bedrooms and a fully equipped kitchen and salon on the ground floor plus the pond, tennis court, biking area…and more. It’s a perfect place to spend a few days or weeks. We spent a few hours to read Alexi de Tocqueville’s books (but only finished one fifth of the book) in the place where he wrote the book, the feeling was so special and we felt like becoming the witness to the history.

Chateau Le Mont Epinguet 8 bedrooms Sleeps 15

SophieRating, 5 stars22 months ago
Our stay at Chateau Le Mont Epinguet surpassed all of our expectations-- it's truly beautiful and Fiona and Mark are beyond friendly. We went as a group of 18 and still found the house incredibly spacious-- you'll never be on top of one another! The gardens outside are lovely and provide lots of spots for sunbathing/reading (and so spacious we even got in a game of rounders). The kitchen has as much crockery as you might ever desire; there are several excellent and large supermarkets within a 15 minute drive (better quality produce and more economical than any British supermarket). Above all-- I cannot express the warmth and kindness of Mark and Fiona-- they're exceptional hosts who attended to any queries we had and provided a wealth of excellent beach & restaurant recommendations. A beautiful chateau, a wonderful (eccentric) interior, with lovely gardens (esp. the palm trees), and great for friends who wish to spend some time stuck together.

MANOIR DE PLEAC GITE 5*, 4 BEDROOMS WITH POOL

PierreRating, 5 stars31 months ago
This is such a lovely manor and our family truly enjoyed our week there. Stephanie was a very attentive and generous host, providing everything from fans to help cool our rooms during the heatwave to getting pool floats for our children to use, high chairs, and local cider which was refreshing and delicious. The home itself is gorgeous and spacious with comfortable beds and sofas and everything one would need in a kitchen. We enjoyed the chickens roaming around and the sweet dogs who would come by to say hello. We invited local family over for a BBQ and everyone commented on what a lovely space it was. The only feedback would be that it would be helpful to provide a guidebook of some sort when you arrive so we could figure everything out for ourselves, for example listing any necessities that guests should anticipate providing if staying more than a few days, such as bin bags, dishwashing tablets, laundry detergent, etc., although, with Stephanie living on the property as well, it wasn't a problem to ask her directly. We felt very well looked after, had a great time and would be very happy to stay here again! Merci Stephanie!

Beautiful chateau, heated pool and tennis court

BethRating, 5 stars3 months ago
What a truly wonderful place! We stayed as a family for my fathers 70th birthday. The communication throughout was very responsive. On arrival, we were greeted by Isabelle who gave us the most thorough tour of the house and grounds (note in french, but we could understand with our limited french!) Isabelle was super helpful throughout and could not have done more for us. Arriving for a couple of hours each morning, she delivered pastries for us each morning for breabreak and provided a turn down service and set out the table for breakfast and dinner. The chef came for a couple of hours each evening and cooked amazing 3 course dinners each night for us and worked with us on the first night to set out the menu. It really felt truly special. The grounds were stunning and the golf hole and tennis courts were enjoyed by all. One note, the swimming pool is not heated all year and when we visited in November it was closed. Overall we had the very best time and will be recommending to everyone!

16th century Manor / Mont Saint Michel's Bay

PolonaRating, 5 stars8 months ago
The chateau was everything we thought it would be from the moment we drove through the gate. The serene setting was welcoming and inviting. The gardens and landscaping were lush and picturesque. Upon entering the front door, we felt like we’d been transported to the 16th century. Wood floors, flowing draperies and richly colored walls all add to the general ambiance. There are numerous bedrooms from which to choose, playrooms for children, spacious living and dining rooms and a kitchen meant for gathering. The kitchen is well stocked and the fireplace warms the rooms and its inhabitants. The two outdoor tables provide opportunities to enjoy the setting while sipping wine or eating a meal, Marc was very accommodating. He offered suggestion for things to do and places to shop in Sartilly.

Maison Villeneuve - Charming castle - entire

MatthewRating, 5 stars6 months ago
Beautiful home in the French countryside perfect for a large family getaway. We had a wonderful time with 7 adults and 4 kids swimming in the pool, cooking out, and playing cards all night in the large dining room. It is convenient to D-Day beaches and a cute little spot nearby along a river with nice restaurants.
