Mountain Escape With Hot tub and views of Mtns

MonicaRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Our family had a great time at this adorable cabin, we had three families who came from all different areas and this was the perfect spot for our families to spend quality time together! The husbands really enjoyed the fire pit and hanging out on the deck. The moms loved how spacious it was so the kids could run around and play together. The neighborhood is also very private so you don’t have to worry about cars passing through. Outside was beautiful, the scenery is so peaceful. There was plenty of privacy for each family on all 3 floors, we never felt on top of each other or crowded. The town Helen is about 16 minutes away and has a very unique look and feel to it. There were so many neat shops that sold souvenirs, candies, and fun experiences. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us!

Spectacular Views, Screened Porch, Peaceful

GencRating, 5 stars1 month ago
All we (my wife) really wanted was a beautiful view, and this had it! She couldn't wait until it was light in the morning so she could look out the window or sit on the porch appreciating the view. The screened-in porch was one of the best parts: relaxing with a beautiful view. It was chilly while we were there, but we spent a lot of time out there. Still, the chilly weather also allowed us to use the fireplace. The house was spacious and well-maintained. If you plan to make meals there, we used the kitchen a lot, and everything in that space was great. It was so nice, and we have already recommended it to others.

Little Red Cottage

Marisa’s house is a beautiful cabin that was worth every penny. It is convenient to Brevard and the Pisgah Forest for the fishing and outdoor enthusiast. Marisa was very accommodating to my group and was prompt to responding to messages. The house was clean and lacked no amenities. The kitchen was well furnished with pots, pans, etc. and linens were plentiful. I would recommend Marisa’s place for anyone hoping to get away and stay in a beautiful part of North Carolina.

Luxury Cabin with Amenities!

BogdanRating, 5 stars3 months ago
The place is in a serene location, warm, and is very clean. We were there as 11 guests, adults and kids and we loved it. Billiard table and table tennis are just some of the activities you can spend your time with at the location, not to mention all the games that are available. We would go back any time and enjoy this beautiful property. Highly recommended!

Hosts were great at communicating and provided some great recommendations in the binder for the cabin. Cabin had everything we needed to cook all of our meals for our family of seven. Cabin afforded lots of space to spread out and offered some scenic views of the surrounding forests.

Big House with Big Mtn Views, Golf & Pool Access

MicheleRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We needed a place for our blended family to finally meet and have time together. One of the bedrooms had bunks which became the kids room. They loved it. They also loved the game room, playground and bathing in the heart shaped jacuzzi. The view is amazing, overlooking a pond with the mountains in the background. We had groups playing golf and tennis. It was too cold for the pool but I’m sure the kids would have been there if it was warm. There is a beautiful waterfall closer than I thought. There was plenty of room for everyone to dine and just be together. It is definitely a place we will keep in mind for future gatherings.

Cabin w/Mountain View & Hot tub 10min from Helen!

NicoleRating, 5 stars5 days ago
Very cozy cabin! Had all the necessary amenities and then some. Perfect location for all the hikes my family and I wanted to do and waterfalls we wanted to see. The BBQ and hot tub are a great addition that we used as well! Instructions were very clear and helpful on how to arrive, however *I highly recommend to arrive during the daytime since it gets very dark and the cabin may be hard to find* Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and were grateful to be able to bring our dog too!

Brillant’s Bunk by Chatuge Home Concierge

TiffanyRating, 5 stars3 months ago
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Perfect for our family of 9. Kitchen well stocked. Loved the view from the deck. Initially, we had a little trouble finding it due to house numbers not going in order and gps didn’t lead us directly to it. Great place and would stay again! Thank you for sharing your home!

Your guide to Mountain Rest

Introduction

Mountain Rest, South Carolina, as the name might suggest, is all about the great outdoors. What this rural Appalachian Mountain town lacks in residents (population: 2,084), it more than makes up for in raw, backcountry wilderness. Thousands of acres of forest extend in every direction, filled with waterfalls, rapid rivers, and swampland. Human history has left its own imprint, too, with relics of the bygone railroad era. There are ample opportunities to get out and explore: trails for hiking, lakes for boating, and outlooks to admire the panoramic mountain views. It all amounts to an addictive blend of South Carolina mountain town charm and the quiet bliss of being immersed in nature.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Mountain Rest

If you're looking for sunshine and the ideal outdoor activity weather, late spring is your season to book one of Mountain Rest’s cabin rentals. In May, before the town’s trails and lakes get crowded, the average high is 78 degrees Fahrenheit. By late June, the crowds thicken and so does the humidity. The rest of summer is oppressively hot, with frequent temperatures above 90 degrees. Fall is nice, too, with temperatures cascading into the 70s through October. Winters vary from mild (temperatures in the 50s) to below freezing. Mountain Rest is one of the chilliest places in South Carolina, with January being the coldest month — nighttime temperatures average around 27 degrees, with frequent snow storms.

Top things to do in Mountain Rest

Oconee State Park

Oconee State Park is one of Mountain Rest’s natural gems. Situated in the Blue Ridge Mountains, this 1,165-acre park is brimming with diverse flora and fauna. The Station Cove Falls Trail is known for its wildflowers, including the state flower, Carolina jessamine. Trails lead hikers through patches of walking ferns and stands of chestnut oaks, and a lake provides the perfect spot for casting a line for catfish or rowing at a leisurely pace. Don’t miss the swimming hole with a high-dive in the summer.

Sumter National Forest

Sumter National Forest is full of beauty, oddities, and other draws. Cascading waterfalls, stands of towering trees, and swamps comprise the patchwork terrain of this enchanting wilderness of more than 370,000 acres. Some historical relics and attractions provide other forms of entertainment, like the Stumphouse Tunnel, an eerie unfinished 1850s railroad tunnel that’s on the National Register of Historic Places.

Chattooga River

The Chattooga River runs for 59 miles, beginning in the granite peaks of the Blue Ridge Mountains and rushing down to Mountain Rest and further south. As a designated Wild and Scenic River, it’s a protected nature corridor best seen from a raft down its Class II and IV rapids.
