“The garden of Eden. On our way to Bora Bora we spent a couple of days in this unique house and garden, realizing that the world around us is changing rapidly but we’re protected in this refuge. Its unique position in a mountain basin lets one forget about the world. We could walk around on the large-scale-premises, sit next to a mountain stream that runs past the house, pick healthy fruits and vegetables such as tangerines, avocados, kumquats and lemons directly from the trees as much as we wanted. Instead of turning to media, we let funny roosters entertain us. Bora Bora, of course, because of last minute travel restrictions, we never reached - but we consider ourselves fortunate to have thereby spent a couple of days here.”

“Thomas is such a great host; you feel more like guests than “renters” while you’re there. The place is a fantastic retreat with everything you need, and it’s within walking distance to so many beautiful beaches, great dining, shopping (lots of local stuff—very cool), and live music. We were blown away by the local talent (and we didn’t encounter cover charges). While you can walk to so many things, we would recommend also having a rental car so you can go exploring. We love the outdoors, so the Road to Hana—with all its hikes, waterfalls, swim areas, and insanely magnificent views—was AMAZING. The drive up to the summit of Haleakala for sunset—and overlooks and hikes along the drive up—was also an experience of a lifetime! We loved the town of Paia with its artsy, funky vibe and fabulous local talent. We will be back!”
