Cabin vacation rentals in Lake Ontario

Laura and Dale's Cottage was such a cozy, sunny, beautiful place nestled in a wooded lot right on the water front. We spent a week there in October and loved the wood fireplace and warmth that the cottage brought. The kitchen was charming with lots of well placed windows. Everything you needed for cooking was available. The board games were nostalgic and fun to play. The bed and bedding was so comfy and perfect for reading in the mornings. The view from the bedroom window was otherworldly especially the full moon coming across the water and the Autumn leaves were spectacularly gorgeous! We cant say enough about this place. We highly recommend it and we hope to return again.

Richard was so kind and helpful. We loved his cabin and had a wonderful time with the cozy wood stove during the cold weather. Thanks!

Stayed here for Oswego family weekend. It’s about 30 minutes from the campus. Was a nice place to relax for the night. Views are beautiful. Chase was very responsive and allowed us to checkout late! Would definitely stay here again!

Sally and the Swan Cove Cottage were incredible! Sally was very responsive and accommodating. The cottage itself was ideal. Due to the loss of my dad in December, I booked on fairly short notice and headed north! The cottage was close to friends so that I could visit with them, or enjoy the peace of the cottage. It being the beginning of January, the porch may not have gotten the use it could’ve, but I loved the option. I arrived very early am, and the cottage was warm and ready. Thank you Sally for an incredible stay!

An absolutely incredible stay! I will say, the pictures were gorgeous but boy was it even better when we got there. It exceeded expectations. Sarah was so responsive and helpful. Stayed at Todd’s during the winter to go snowmobiling with my father down the road. Very convenient. Place was cozy and warm. Todd was proactive in messaging us that if we needed anything that he would bring it over, but it wasn’t necessary. I’d stay there again next winter.

This was a wonderful stay! We had a great time, the cabin was clean and inviting, our hosts were so helpful as well! Would love to come back another season and enjoy what DeRuyter has to offer.

The house is located in a quiet and peaceful area, offering great privacy. It is well-equipped, with well-decorated and with clean rooms. Host Katrina is very warm and hospitable, easy to communicate with, and provides clear instructions. Highly recommended！

We had a fantastic stay for a long weekend (birthday) getaway. Nice private location with a view. Enjoyed the hot-tub while watching the first snowfall of the season, wood stove and the well stocked kitchen. Host even left some treats for my pup, which she really enjoyed and was very responsive/helpful. Pros: private location, right on the water, kayak/canoe/hot tub for use, well stocked kitchen, responsive host! Cons: (only 1!) mice! My dog could not stop hunting the cabin throughout our stay lol (she is dedicated, like a cat!) , and we did find some droppings on the dishes in the cupboards, before use. Overall - we had a fantastic time. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay. We hope to be back soon!

Thank you for the host's prompt response and for helping us with the campfire. They were very kind and quick to assist. We enjoyed the hot tub and the beautiful river backdrop.

Julie sent us the cottage address and more information well in advance of our arrival. She was friendly and even though she lives close by we couldn't see her house and she gave us total privacy. The hot tub was so amazing and secluded. The house was warm and clean. Very quiet location. We will definitely visit again! Thank you Julie!

We had a great stay! The cabin was very nice and clean. It was exactly as pictured. We also enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit. Very cozy and enjoyable getaway would definitely recommend!

The location is perfect, very peaceful, feels private, with miles of hiking trails, nearby stores just a few miles away to get the basic stuff. We enjoyed exploring the area and found plenty of great entertaining options nearby. Overall, our experience was nothing short of amazing. We cannot recommend Marie and their property highly enough! She is a great host, easy to deal with, with some very impressive communication skills ( and I'm not an easily pleased person). The horses she owns brought back so many memories. The cabin is an ideal place for a romantic gate away, the windows above the bed are giving the " night under the starrs" feeling. Our two doggies were enjoying the stay too. I'll most definitely be back there in a few months time. !!

Walking into the nook - you feel immediately at home and relaxed. Every detail that Melissa and Greg put in is so thoughtful and warm! We had such a beautiful and connected time. Enjoyed the games, the sauna and the peace and quiet more than we can express. We definitely will be back. Highly highly recommend to anyone needing to unplug, recharge and connect.

It was great to get away. The cabin was cute. Had everything we needed as far as making a small meal and relaxing. It was fairly close to the cabin next to us, which was unoccupied, but then on the opposite side that was a home,I’m assuming the landowner‘s home. With it being in winter that was an easy shot from their window to the hot tub. Probably very private in the summer and worth this day. Thank you for sharing your cabin with us.

This place turned out to be exactly what we were looking for and needed! A cozy cabin with plenty of space for three people to spread out (and easily room for a few more) for a calm winter getaway. We made almost all our meals there throughout the week, and the kitchen has about everything one would need. Bathroom is nice, new shower appreciated as well as the heated tile floor. Bedroom and beds upstairs feel new and the mattresses are quite firm, so a great nights sleep for us. The propane fireplace was perfect! both ambient & effective The property is massive and the trails made for nice little daily adventures. Snow on the ground and the pond was frozen, so we got a couple days of ice time before rising temps made it a bit too wet. Feels very remote on-property, especially at night, but there are a couple cute towns 20 minutes east or west. Leila diner and Naples pizza highlights. The owner, Felicia, is very responsive and nice to interact with. We hope to be back someday!

We had a great stay ,was exactly what we were looking for. If you want a peaceful place that is private with a great scenery, this is the place!

This easily was one of our favorite stays over the last 10 years. We came for a short, relaxing weekens get away for my husbands birthday and were welcomed with a thoughtful and personal birthday card and absolutely charming space. Their personalities subtly shined throughout the space. There was nothing I would change, nothing that I would absolutely have to add. The space was clean, dainty, and full of "little bit of everything" for convenience. we WILL be back!!

My partner and I spent 2 nights at The Cabin By The Stream in -5C weather. The cabin was lovely and cozy and peaceful - perfect for a brief escape from hectic city living. John was a thoughtful, courteous and communicative host. We would highly recommend a stay!

The log home was beautiful snow was on the ground for Christmas and they even set up a tree inside with lights for my kids . We all loved our stay and it saved the holidays .

Such a peaceful, beautiful location hosted by very friendly, easy-going people. We enjoyed the setting in amongst the trees with open sky views and were blessed with a clear sky on our second night to see the magical array of stars! We will definitely be back!
