Meet your host
Where I went to school: 私が通っていた高校は、熊本城内の二の丸にあり、歴史を感じられる環境でした。
I spend too much time: Golf, listening to music, and YouTube.
Since leaving my parents' home in Kumamoto 60 years ago, I am now opening a private lodging again and am surprised by the changes around me.
The landscape, which used to be just rice fields, has now become a very livable town. The streetcars that used to run in front of the house have disappeared, and the city has become a car society.
It is a castle town, and although the appearance of a thriving artisan town with knife shops, temples, and barrel makers has diminished, the atmosphere remains moderate.
There is also a wharf nearby, which was once used to load rice and transport it to the castle. The place is still there, and it makes you imagine what life was like back then.
I feel that it is a very comfortable place to stay, not only for sightseeing, but also for living.
