The space
Welcome to The Mountain Eyrie where you can wake up to fresh mountain air and the soothing sounds of the nearby waterfall. There’s multiple covered and uncovered outdoor spaces with seating and tables making it easy for you to sip coffee or wine while unwinding in the serene wooded surroundings
This is a self-contained, private apartment with a separate entrance and dedicated parking.
Safety & Trust
Rest easy knowing your stay is fully permitted by Clackamas County and has been personally inspected and cleared by the Fire Marshal for your safety.
We hope you will appreciate that we provide 💯 Smoke-Free Property: there is no smoking or vaping of any kind allowed inside the suite or anywhere on the house grounds (decks, driveway)
🪟 Fresh Air Tip: To enjoy the sounds of the nearby waterfall, feel free to open the bedroom windows! If you don't see a screen, simply slide it over from the opposite side of the frame—we use adjustable screens.
Upon entering the Mountain Eyrie, you’ll find yourself in the main room, outfitted with a comfy seating area, TV, Bowflex Max trainer, fireplace, storage closet for all of your gear (skis, snowboards, etc.), full-size refrigerator, books, board games, puzzles, art supplies and a table for crafting. Table also serves as a laptop designated space.
From this main room you go up four steps (with handrail) into the hallway, which leads to the kitchenette/laundry room, bathroom, bedroom, and yoga (mindfulness ) studio.
The kitchenette has everything you need for your stay: Keurig , French press, single cup coffee maker, microwave, toaster, electric kettle, single-burner induction cooktop, electric skillet, rice cooker, small crockpot, George Foreman grill, egg bite maker and more. There’s also a full-size washer and dryer, too.
No need to pack shampoo, conditioner, or body wash as I’ve set up the bathroom with everything you need to take a shower or bath.
After a busy day of hiking, skiing, biking, or sightseeing, catch some ZZZs on a Queen-sized Sleep Number bed. The bedroom also has a closet and storage for clothes and other belongings. The bedroom and yoga studio both have dimmer switches to adjust the overhead lighting.
The yoga studio (mindfulness room ) has a large mat, blocks, straps, and other items available so you can unwind with some quiet, calming yoga or other activity. Shoes off please.
Unique Art: original local artwork is throughout the house for those seeking authentic cultural experiences.
Functional: Shoes off in the house for a serene, clean environment for all guests. Bring your slippers or comfy socks. We are committed to keeping the dust down.
Air Quality & Wellness
We maintain a hypoallergenic and fragrance-free guest suite. While the apartment is strictly pet-free, please note that we (the owners) live upstairs with our two well-groomed, low-shedding pets and share a ventilation system. To ensure a pristine environment, we run 24/7 HEPA filtration throughout the entire home and provide exclusively scent-free products for guest use.
To maintain our 24/7 HEPA-filtered sanctuary, we manage the central Air Conditioning and heating from the main residence, typically set to a crisp and consistent 68°F—the ideal baseline for rest and recovery. Personalized Comfort: Warmth & Ambiance: The main lounge features a fireplace with its own dedicated thermostat, allowing you to boost the heat and cozy atmosphere instantly. Zonal Control: We also provide high-quality zonal heaters in the bedroom and yoga studio, giving you the flexibility to customize your micro-climate. Breathe Easy: Our commitment to a hypoallergenic, fragrance-free environment means we run HEPA filtration around the clock. This ensures the indoor air remains fresh and clean, even if the mountain breeze carries the scent of a neighbor's woodfire or legal herb outdoors.
Guest access
Arrival & Parking
Evening Arrival: Outdoor lights will be left on for you; please turn them off before retiring for the night.
Standard Parking: Park at the bottom of the driveway for the most direct access to the lower-level entrance.
Snow & Ice Protocol (Critical)
The driveway is steep and becomes impassable/hazardous when frozen.
Warning: Failure to move large vehicles before a storm may result in your vehicle becoming stuck at the bottom of the driveway.
If snow or ice is in the forecast:
Large Vehicles: Drive to the bottom only to unload passengers and luggage, then immediately move the vehicle back to the street to park for the duration of the storm.
Smaller Vehicles: Consult the house manual's specific snow/ice section for designated parking instructions.
Other things to note
Connectivity & Tech
High-Speed Internet: We provide Astound 1.5 Gig (1,500 Mbps) fiber internet, which is excellent for high-definition Zoom calls, FaceTime, and streaming.
Cellular Service & Wi-Fi Calling: Due to the mountainous terrain and heavy tree cover, cellular "dead zones" are common in Rhododendron.
Inside the House: We use signal boosters, but we strongly recommend enabling Wi-Fi Calling on your device before arrival to ensure consistent service.
Carrier Reliability: Verizon typically offers the best local coverage (4G/5G), followed by T-Mobile. AT&T coverage is generally slower in this specific area.
Quiet & Community Standards
This home is located in a peaceful residential neighborhood. To respect our neighbors and comply with the Clackamas County Noise Ordinance (Chapter 6.05), we observe the following:
Quiet Hours: 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM.
Expectation: We aim to provide a tranquil retreat and ask that our guests help maintain this quiet environment.
