When you’ll pay for your reservation

Want to know when you’ll be charged for a reservation? It all depends on the length of the reservation and how you pay (plus a slight difference for guests residing in India).

If you book a reservation that’s less than 28 nights

Your payment method will be charged as soon as your reservation is confirmed (excluding security deposits). This applies for Instant Book, too.

If you pay using a payment plan

If you choose a pay part now, part later payment plan, you’ll pay a portion of the total upon confirmation and the remaining balance will be automatically charged on the date listed when your reservation is confirmed. Find out when you’ll be charged with a pay part now, part later payment plan.

If you pay using Klarna, you’ll be charged the first payment when your reservation is confirmed. When you’ll be charged the remaining payments depends on the option you chose: 3 payments, 4 payments, or a short-term loan. Find out more about when you’ll be charged when you pay with Klarna.

If you book a monthly stay that’s 28 nights or more

For reservations of 28 nights or more, you’ll be charged for the first month upon confirmation. After that, you'll be charged the remainder in monthly installments. You can review the dates of your monthly payments during checkout. Learn more about paying for monthly stays.

If you’re a guest residing in India

The full payment is charged when a trip request is submitted. If the request expires or the host declines it, you’ll be refunded in full. Find out more about paying for reservations in India.

When your host gets paid for your reservation

No matter how far in advance you book, the host doesn’t receive payment until 24 hours after your scheduled check-in. This gives both of you time to make sure everything is as expected.
