Wine Farm Cottage

The cottage offers guests an unique opportunity to stay on a rustic working wine farm. It forms part of the farmstead of a historic wine farm, but has its own little garden with a view over vineyards. It is located on the R44 between Stellenbosch and Somerset West, which makes it the ideal place to reside when exploring the many surrounding wineries and restaurants. The road may be a bit noisy, but most guests hear birds more often than they hear cars. The cottage was built in the 1980’s.

Carmen is a friendly and responsive host and the place is really nice. You can walk to the beach or to the shops or restaurants in Pringle Bay which is very convenient. There is a Weber braai which we used more than once and the hot tub was a nice extra.

Miriam was an amazing host, very responsive and super helpful.Tunica the house lady was incredible and helpful too going out of our way to ensure we were comfortable and at ease. Francois' house is a real gem! It is even more spacious than it looks on the pictures and we felt right at home and could really relax after our 2-week road trip before flying home. We were 4 people and even had to look for each other as the house is so big! :) You will find everything you need there, it is a safe neighbourhood with great views and there are nice restaurants not too far away. The location is ideal if you plan trips to Stellenbosch, Hermanus or Cape Point and with the car you are in the city center in about 40min. Communication with Francois or his sister Dorette was always super easy and helpful and in case of early check-out there is a key box available.

We had an excellent time at Carin’s ostrich cottage. The grounds are quiet and quaint. The hosts are friendly and accommodating - the grounds have a pool, tennis court, and ostriches that we were able to feed. We would love to stay here again and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Cape Winelands area.
