Marina Cottage offers much more than accommodation. My aim is to give guests an experience. A haven of tranquility and peace and to feel appreciated and a little bit spoiled. It is a little home away from home. Every guest is treated as the most important guest. Privacy of guests is a priority and I am 24/7 available should they need anything. The cottage is well equipped and stocked with much more than the usual self-catering places. Come and expierence!
“This has to be THE cutest, quaintest place to stay in Greyton! It is a gorgeous little old cottage adjoining the owner's home, beautifully decorated with photos, pictures and curios with a lovely selection of books for reading or browsing. The warmest of welcomes awaited us from our host with delicious homemade cake, some scones and jam along with a few things to make breakfast. The kitchen has a wider than usual selection of cooking equipment and cooking basics eg spices, oil, tea, coffee etc. The bed is comfortable and the whole place is lovely and clean. If you love a bath over a shower, then this is the place for you! There are no fewer than 3 different outdoor seating areas to choose from, including an upstairs balcony from which to admire the view over the lush, tropical feeling, surrounding vegetation. Greyton is a sleepy little town with some lovely restaurants to choose from, well within walking distance, should you decide not to cook. The Nature Reserve is within walking distance of the cottage and it only takes a couple of minutes to drive there. There are several trails to choose from and even the shorter ones provide lovely views over the surrounding countryside. This place is a MUST!”
This stand-alone cottage is in a private and secluded corner of a leafy garden in a quiet street in the beautiful Overberg village of Greyton. Though in this relaxing setting, it is within walking distance from the village center with its well-known Saturday Market, specialty boutiques and various restaurants. Many hiking and cycling trails are but a short distance away for your next adventure.
“A lovely place with so many touches to make your stay comfortable. We were impressed with the decor, beautiful setting and feel of the space. There was also an aircon which was needed as we had 35 degree plus heat. The place has everything you need for a few days in Greyton. It is small, but comfortable with a lovely big bed, perfect for a couple. We were also supplied with coffee pods, milk, muesli, yoghurt and rusks which was a great touch. It was private and felt safe.”
This versatile thatched roofed cottage offers contemporary country comfort with a dash of history. It is one of the two cottages located on the owners property offering its own entrance and private garden. During winter, when you might even encounter snow on the mountains, your very own baby Godin wood burner makes sure you are toasty warm. In summer, guests are invited to use the recently built pool. A five minute walk will get you to the village center.
“This is the stylish cottage of my dreams! Beautiful. Spacious. Well equipped and spotless. There is a fire pit that we made good use of. I just wonder, however, if the main house and the cottage are rented out simultaneously, would you have to share the pool and the pit? I imagine so. So I'm pleased we had the place to ourselves. It is within walking distance to the town, which is small but has everything you could need. We discovered you cannot buy alcohol from a retailer on Sunday's. Just a handy tip. But, we ate out in a couple of cute places and love the local pub. I've been to Greyton a few times - its a restful town, but I imagine if you're travelling there, you will know that. It has a strong sense of community and is a proud place, where they take extra care to look after their community and surroundings. I was disappointed with the shopping, as I was hoping for art galleries and gift shops, but there wasn't much available and many of the places were shut the three days were there, so I'd recommend staying over the weekend. The one thing I struggled with was the barking dogs. But, I would readily recommend this as your place of choice, should you ever visit Greyton. It is a beautiful cottage and a gorgeous place. I didn't meet Karin, as she was away, but her house manager Lynette was very helpful and lovely to deal with.”
