Monthly Rentals in Haldane Bay

Justine's farmhouse was a lovely and affordable place to use as a base to explore the Catlins. It's got some of the quirks of an older farmhouse, but it's comfortable and clean and we enjoyed our two nights there. But the real highlight was getting me meet and chat with Justine, who was a delight. She was responsive and immediately solved an issue that came up with the house, and she was very kind and patient with our desire to chat about the workings of the farm. Her kindness and hospitality were a true highlight of our trip.

Sheryl’s airbnb was fantastic. Communication and check-in were easy. And the location is quite stunning. I sat on the couch both afternoons and just watched the birds and changing tides. As for the space itself, it looked as if they’d recently repainted/refreshed it because it was even nicer than the photos. The lack of wifi was no issue at all — and typical for the area. We had amazing cell service, and when used during off-peak hours, cell connections were fast enough for video calls. (During peak hours, it was still good enough for typical browsing and such.) In terms of the kitchen, I wouldn’t recommend planning to do anything complex. But it’s perfectly adequate for making a pasta dish or something else that involves minimal prep. We loved this spot and would definitely recommend it to others!!

Tiroroa is the perfect escape in Curio Bay, offering breathtaking views, modern comforts, and total tranquility. The stylish barn-style home is spacious, beautifully designed, and well-equipped for a relaxing stay. From spotting penguins at the Petrified Forest to unwinding with a view, every moment felt special. The friendly alpacas were a delightful touch, and Katherine’s hospitality made everything seamless. Whether for adventure or relaxation, this coastal gem is a must-visit!

We really enjoyed staying at Niagara Ridge Retreat. The house was comfortable, view was amazing, and we liked the location.
