Kick up your feet up and relax in on our hammock circle. Take in the breathtaking landscape of Joshua Tree. Our retreat can comfortably sleep up to 15 people in the 2 units on site. Perfect for large family gatherings, intimate yoga retreats, friends celebrating a special event, or dream getaway!
We are just 5 short minutes to JTree National Park and the dining/shops. Amenities include the oh so Pinterest- perfect cowboy pool (summer season only), perfect for a dip after a day of exploring. We are situated 3 short miles from the Joshua Tree National Park entrance, making it easy to enjoy the famous hiking and climbing trails. Maybe you're sore from your adventures? Or feeling the desert night chill? Slip into our large hot tub with plenty of room for friends, situated across from the fire pit circle where you can enjoy the star filled sky that Joshua tree is so famous for. Stay warm by the fire in the comfy Adirondack chairs.
Help yourself to our state of the art kitchen complete with all the things you need from frozen smoothie to a gourmet feast. Chill out in the media lounge for a board game, book, or movie.
Not quite ready to call it a night? Our game room is action packed with plenty to enjoy. A game of ping pong any one? Watch the game with friends. You can roll up the front of the rec room to invite the outside in, located just behind our patio lounge that takes in the namesake view of the Joshua trees, picturesque mountains and spectacular night sky!

*FOOD AN SUCH: Eat and shop in Joshua Tree Village, also just 5 minutes away.
*NIGHT SKY: The desert stars and moon are a main attraction here. We have our hammock circle perfect for stargazing. We also have a telescope in the star room for those that want a closer look.
*FOLLOW the MUSIC: Xanadu’s name sake is from the 70’s cult classic musical staring Olivia Newton John. We have music themes throughout the property. Can you spot them all? Ready to get down and boogie? Take our record player for a spin and explore our record collection in the main house den. We have also have a portable blue tooth speaker for your convenience and an easy to use sound system in the rec room.
*WILD TIMES: Make friends with long eared bunnies, quail, dove, roadrunner and owls. Explore the property's many Joshua Trees, cholla and beavertail cactus, and other native plants. Then at night listen for the coyotes' moonlight howls
*RELAX: explore our acre + property and tuck into one of our many nooks and hideaways to find your center.
*ACCOMODATIONS:
-Entertain in style using Xanadu’s complete gourmet kitchen -- place settings for 15
-Dining table comfortably seats 10, plus 4 more friends or family at counter seating.
-Evenings enjoy outdoor drinks around the fire pit. Cook burgers on the grill or soak in the hot tub.
-Outdoor dining for 10- 15 made easy under our beautiful pergola set against our hand painted mural. Enjoy the porch swings or sneak away to the tree nook.
-Seasonally, May 1 - September 30, we have our cowboy pool with room for everyone! Or enjoy our outdoor shower for a quick cool down amongst the elements.
MAIN HOUSE
*“It was all a dream” Bedroom - Located in the back of the house with a private entrance to the back yard. Comfortable queen bed and mid century modern desk will make you feel right at home. Leads out to our black and white animal print ½ bath and chill den.
*Blue Jean Baby Bedroom: Located at the front of the house and has two extra long twin beds, and a large closet.
*Cactus Bedroom: This fun space has a cozy queen bed, a large closet, and beautiful cactus wallpaper.
*Main Bathroom: This bathroom is extra large, and all newly remolded. Soak in the large tub or enjoy a relaxing shower (btw we have great water pressure) complementary travel size salon quality shampoo and conditioner and soaps are yours to enjoy. Hair dryer and towels a plenty.
*Kitchen: Oh it’s just so cute! Adorned in the loveliest shade of pink... or salmon ... maybe coral? Either way, you will want it for your own and we have stocked it full of everything you should need (see list below) Seats 4 at the island.
*CHILL DEN: located off the 1/2 bath and complete with a queen sleeper sofa. Record player and Nintendo, board games and more
*Dining Room: Located just off the open concept kitchen. Mid century table and sputnik lighting set the mood for a great night. There is a small lounge with a sofa for 2, and fun booze cart completes the space. Directly off the dining room is the side yard that is fenced in and a great space for the kids to safely play within ears reach.
CASITA :
Located next door to the main house is our casita and rec room.
*“ MACROmay i “ Bedroom: A beautiful macramé draped above the bed welcomes you into the comfortable Queen sized bed.
*Stargazers Room: This space is for the kids, or the kids at heart! A bunk bed and trundle can accommodate 4. Twin top and twin trundle and a double on the bottom bunk. This is where our telescope lives, but is for all to enjoy. Star lights create a magical vibe throughout the room. We also created a cozy reading nook, complete with a sparkle lava lamp. We had to include of course our name sake Xanadu poster.
*Disco Fever Bathroom: We’ve channeled the disco vibe in here in gold and orange, it’s the grooviest bathroom around. It includes a bath tub and shower.
REC ROOM :
This is our extra large space located behind the patio complete with dining table for 8 for games or enjoying a meal. We have a great 75 inch 4k TV with cable and Netflix included, ping pong, refrigerator, and washer and dryer. The room can comfortably accommodate seating for 15. This is a great space that can transform for any special event or retreat.
Our Gourmet Kitchen is fully stocked. We love cooking so it has literally everything!
** Events -- We cannot accommodate and do not permit gatherings, parties, or events such as weddings at Xanadu. Guests at Xanadu are permitted to bring only the number of guests booked in their reservation, and no more, onto the property. This is a maximum of 15 people. Feel free to inquire if you have questions or have an event you would like to conduct and we can possibly accommodate you.
** Filming and Photography -- Contact us directly, this isn't a booking done through Airbnb. Please be ready to provide commercial production insurance with Xanadu specified as one of the insured; shoot time and duration; equipment list; vehicle list...etc. There is more entailed in allowing you to use the property for production than can be encompassed within Airbnb. We'd arrange payment via Airbnb but all the details and special accommodations of a location booking would be arranged mostly outside Airbnb. Our location rates vary depending on project and needs.**
5 Car Maximum - We are trying to preserve fragile desert landscape at Xanadu which means our parking space is limited. For this reason guest groups must have a maximum of 5 vehicles unless prior arrangements are made with us in advance. All guests will be asked to complete a rental agreement which will be sent to you and will be electronically signed.
Xanadu is equipped with systems to help keep guests comfortable and secure. We have outdoor security cameras to monitor exterior areas around including the driveway, front doorbell, patio area, and the entrance to the property.
We have adopted new cleaning protocols according to the CDC guidelines in response to Covid-19. You can see the checklist and details of the new cleaning guidelines we are practicing on Airbnb's cleaning section.
Other things to note
Unauthorized Commercial Use:
Commercial photography is only allowed with a prepaid fee.
Small events such as yoga retreats are only allowed with a prepaid fee.
This property may not be used for commercial purposes without prior written approval. This includes, but is not limited to: photo/video shoots, film/music production, sponsored content, or influencer marketing.
Any unauthorized commercial use will result in a fee.
EARLY CHECK-IN/LATE CHECK-OUT REQUEST:
When available, we can accommodate with a prepaid fee and a 24hrs notice.
Pet Friendly: We're pet friendly! Two well-behaved pups allowed. There is a $100 pet fee, per pet, with a maximum of 2 pets paid at time of booking. We’re sorry we do not accept cats. You will be automatically charged for 1 pet and the second pet will need to be paid with a request for payment. No pups on the furniture and no pups left alone in the house (unless crated) or in the yard and please dispose of any pet waste & be mindful of urine as it will stain. Excess pet hair, feces left behind, urine stains and animal damage is not covered by the pet fee.
LUGGAGE DROP OFF:
We will gladly accommodate luggage, refrigerator item drop off etc when prearranged with a 24hr notice. There may be a small fee required if no one is already on site.
WATER FEATURE SERVICE:
Please note water feature is regularly serviced and you can expect the technician to arrive through the exterior gate anytime Monday through Friday between 8am to 5pm, no interaction from you is needed.
CONSUMABLES:
All consumable items such as toilet paper, paper towels, hand soap, etc are meant to be a starter pack to get you started for your vacation. They are not meant to be UNLIMITED! Please plan accordingly for the length of your trip.
EVENTS/ COMMERCIAL USE:
In case anybody is found involved in unauthorized activities that are used for personal gain on the property, you will be penalized according to the Host's discretion only.
FORGOTTEN ITEMS:
There's a fee attached for forgotten item. This fee covers not only the shipping cost but also the gas, shipping, and the labor involved in having our team retrieve, package, and send the item back to you. Thank you for your understanding.
