GOOD TO KNOW BEFORE YOU BOOK
We want your Floaty Potato getaway to be full of adventure, relaxation and great memories! Because this is a waterfront home with a pool, docks, adventure gear and optional extras, here are a few important things to know before booking.
BIG FAMILIES WELCOME!
We do NOT charge more based on the number of guests within our approved occupancy. Whether you're bringing 2 guests or the whole crew, the nightly rate stays the same!
HEATED POOL
Solar pool heat is included year-round at no additional charge.
Want an extra boost? Optional electric pool heating/cooling is available for $55/night and should be requested in advance.
The electric heat pump operates during daytime hours and relies on outdoor air temperatures. Our goal is approximately 80–85°F in winter and 85–90°F in summer, but unusually cold or hot weather can affect performance, so exact water temperatures cannot be guaranteed.
Pool heating may take 24–72 hours to reach the desired temperature, so please request it in advance whenever possible.
BRINGING A BOAT?
Our boat lift is available to guests at NO additional charge! Bring your own boat or rent one locally and enjoy easy access to Crystal River's waterways and the Gulf.
A separate boat-lift agreement must be completed before use.
DON'T BE A SILLY SPUD — WATER SAFETY
The best part of The Floaty Potato is being right on the water! With a pool, canal, docks, kayaks and paddleboard, children must be actively supervised around all water areas.
• Pool-access doors have child-safety locks
• An in-pool alarm is available
• Children must be accompanied by an adult on the docks
• Life jackets are provided in multiple sizes
• Kayaks and paddleboard are for daylight use only
• Pool and dock surfaces can be slippery when wet
• Please avoid alcohol while swimming or paddling
Detailed equipment and safety instructions are provided before your stay.
BIKES
Guest bikes include 2 adult bikes, a tandem bike and a youth bike. Our tandem is a little like a manatee dance — adorable, but it takes coordination!
Helmets are NOT provided, so please bring your own if you plan to ride.
BRINGING YOUR FURRY SPUD?
Well-behaved dogs are welcome with prior approval.
• Dogs only — no cats due to owner allergies
• Maximum of 2 approved dogs
• Combined dog weight limit of 110 lbs
• Dogs must be kenneled when left unattended
• Kennels in multiple sizes are provided
• Bowls, leash, kennel mat, paw-cleaning supplies, waste bags and scoopers are available
• Couch covers are required if dogs are on furniture
• Please clean up after your pup
Our fenced backyard makes traveling with your four-legged family member easier. All pet owners must complete our pet agreement.
Legitimate service animals are welcomed in accordance with applicable law and are not charged a pet fee.
CLEAN, GREEN & THOUGHTFUL
We use approximately 90% all-natural, eco-friendly cleaning, laundry and bath products selected with our guests and Florida's environment in mind. Traditional products are used when necessary.
The property is also professionally serviced for pests.
A LITTLE FLORIDA REALITY
Waterfront Florida comes with incredible wildlife — and occasionally some very tiny wildlife, too!
No-see-ums and other insects may occasionally appear near the canal, especially around dusk. Professional pest service helps, but no treatment can completely eliminate naturally occurring outdoor insects.
Repellent, patio fans, keeping doors closed and covering up while fishing around dusk usually help.
PRIVACY & SECURITY
The backyard is fenced and the pool/patio area is screened.
Outdoor security cameras monitor ONLY the front entrance and canal areas for guest and property security. There are NO cameras overlooking the pool, grassy backyard or covered patio areas.
GUEST PORTAL & AGREEMENTS
The responsible adult listed on the reservation must complete our rental agreement and ID verification through the secure Guest Portal.
Depending on your stay, additional agreements may be required for boat-lift or pet use.
The Guest Portal is also where you can request optional extras, including:
• Electric pool heating/cooling — $55/night
• Pet stays
• Early check-in, when available
• Late checkout, when available
• Boat-lift use
