The space
Tanasi Manor is part of the Belmont Historic District which is walking distance to the town Square in Shelbyville, TN. This 5,026 square foot home was built in 1920 by Lem Motlow (nephew and heir of Jack Daniel's Distillery) for his attorney, Charles Greer. The 2 story craftsman style home was built by state of the art standards for the era by skilled architects and laborers and was known at the time as "The Most Beautiful House in Shelbyville".
The home is being lovingly restored by the current owners who are striving to preserve as many original elements as possible. There are original wood floors, lighted wall sconces, mosaic tile, stained glass and beveled glass French doors. The original staircase and railing in the Grand Foyer makes a stunning entrance and multiple large crystal chandeliers adorn the main rooms.
We strive to create a peaceful environment for guests to relax and enjoy their time here. There are multiple common areas to sit and have a coffee, snack or conversation. We serve flavored coffee, lattes, teas, cold brew, cookies and muffins.
The dining room has a small refrigerator stocked with snacks, bottled water, microwave and a keurig coffee maker. A sitting room is located off the dining room, a sitting area in the Grand Foyer and a terrace out front with rocking chairs is available for guests.
