The space
Welcome to Pura Vida Cabin! Pura Vida is a greeting in one of our favorite vacation spots Costa Rica. Pura Vida means Pure Life and Pura Vida Cabin offers just that! You will feel right at home as soon as you enter this updated and remodeled cabin! From the second you enter the door you will be welcomed into the beautiful and well equipped kitchen complete with coffee bar. Off the kitchen is a huge screened in porch overlooking the lake where you can sip your coffee or eat meals with out being bugged or listen to music with Bluetooth capable speaker/light or watch TV outdoors without bugs. There is a quaint dining room to enjoy meals or play games or try your hand at the arcade featuring over 150 classic arcade games. The great room features wood walls with a vaulted ceiling and a floor to ceiling natural stone wood fireplace that is original to the cabin from 1939.
The Cabin has 2 bedrooms, a cozy master with a hybrid memory foam queen mattress and vaulted ceilings exposing the original natural wood and original wood sided wall. The second bedroom is the loft that also features vaulted ceilings with natural wood, a Hybrid memory foam queen mattress sits below the cedar loft where a ladder will welcome you up to two gel memory foam twin beds. A second screen porch through the French doors is off the great room with a pull out couch and chase lounge chair overlooking the lake, a beautiful spot to sit, relax and take in the view.
Outside in the back you will find a beautiful view of Beaulieu Lake (pronounced "Bo-Lee-Oh") on which Pura Vida cabin sits on with 99’ of lake frontage including a small private sandy beach area. There is a channel that will connect you to Koonz lake which you have full access to as well. You have a calming wooded surround and a comfortable firepit area to relax. You can take the beautifully redone stairway down to the lake, private deck and dock or take out the 2 provided sit in Kayaks or Stand up paddle board to enjoy these pristine lakes or swim out to the swim raft. In front of the cabin you have a beautiful wooded view and woods to explore.
Guest access
You will have access to the entire cabin, beach, property and dock all to yourselves. There is one shed on the left that is filled with everything you need to enjoy the lake, the shed on the right is locked and for the owners.
Other things to note
While we are very excited to have you stay at Pura Vida Cabin, we ask you please be respectful of the cabin, lake and surrounding nature. Please clean up after yourselves both inside and outside and try to leave it as you found it.
The inside of this property is 100% non-smoking, including vaping of any kind and also pet free. A $500+ fee for smoke mitigation and cleaning charges will be added for any smoking that takes place indoors. If smoking is done outside, please be kind and pick up your butts, extra cleaning fee of $50 will be assessed for excess cleaning of cigarette butts. Please be courteous of this rule as our daughter is highly allergic.
Quiet time is 11pm to 7am please keep noise to minimum during these hours to be respectful of the neighbors.
No one under the age of 23 will be allowed to rent the property.
Pura Vida Cabin is very conveniently located a short 20 minutes from Shawano. You are only 5 minutes from fantastic golfing and within 15 minutes of two casinos, the North Star Mohican Casino and Resort and Menominee Casino and Resort.
The area offers many beautiful views and hiking opportunities including the near by beautiful Lower Red River Park, and waterfall views from Gilmer Falls and Little Bull Falls.
There are two provided Kayaks and a stand up paddle board for guests to enjoy, please bring them ashore and return them as you found them when not in use.
Light in the screen porch off of the kitchen is a Bluetooth speaker as well, connect to "CEILING LIGHT" to play your favorite tunes.
Pura Vida Cabin provides guests with a bundle of wood to get you started for a relaxing outdoor fire. There is firewood for sale in the area for longer stays. Otherwise please help yourselves to any fallen branches you can find throughout the wooded areas of the property to use for burning in the firepit or inside fireplace.
There are wooden marshmallow/hot dog roasting sticks provided on the back porch, feel free to burn after use.
There is an LP Gas Grill for guests to use. LP is Provided by guests that stay, so if you empty the tank please head on into Gresham to the Town Mart and replace it for the next guest.
