Our charming cottage forms part of a grade 2 listed mill, residing in the tranquil hamlet of Wensley just outside the market town of Leyburn. The contemporary country style loft cottage is warm and welcoming. The cottage is rural and surrounded by fields in all directions. Rest and relax in front of the log burner on a cold winter's evening or unwind with a glass of your favourite tipple in the enclosed garden with hot tub looking out over the idyllic views of Wensleydale, towards Penn Hill.

The space
The sitting room has a light and airy feel with the open apex ceiling and exposed beams, yet still feels cosy and warm. Relax on the sofa and watch TV, read in peace or listen to your own music on the wireless speaker. Whatever way you choose to unwind, leave your shoes or walking boots at the door and put your feet up.
A new sofa bed means we can now accommodate 1 or 2 extra guests in a double bed.

🍽️ The kitchen has everything you need to make you feel at home and every convenience you could wish for during your stay. If a morning coffee is essential then we have you covered, we have just added a new sage nespresso machine, meaning your morning latte or cappuccino is just a button away.

🛏️ A delightful king-sized bed adorned with crisp white bed linen provides the perfect place to rest your head, after a day of exploring. The full bedroom suite provides ample storage and the south facing window offers one of the best views from the cottage.

🛁 A clean and cosy bathroom gives you a place to soak the day away or freshen up in the shower.

🧺 Additionally, the cottage has a small utility with a washer/dryer.

🥾 As you enter the cottage the porch area provides generous storage for outdoor clothing and footwear and outside there is a store room that can be used for 2 standard sized bicycles.

🩴 The hot tub comfortably accommodates 2 people and is always heated and ready for when you arrive. The views from the hot tub by day are breathtaking and by night a glance upward on a clear night the stars fill the sky above creating the most romantic setting. Bath robes and extra towels for the hot tub are provided.

🪵 The Loft sits in an elevated position from the parking area, which provides guests with breath taking views of the valley and Penn Hill. The garden is gated and fully secure giving guests with dogs peace of mind when they are enjoying the outside space. Your outdoor area comprises of a patio with BBQ, a small terraced lawn area and deck with hot tub.

Guest access
The cottage and garden is fully secure and self contained giving you ample privacy. Parking for one vehicle is on private land and next to the road. There are stairs up to the property from the parking space.

Other things to note
💭 RELAX in the Hot Tub, available all year round. Guests can relax and take in the views during the day or star gaze at night.

🐾 We welcome any guests bringing their dog/pet, but we do limit this to one four-legged friend (unless agreed prior to your visit) and a charge of £20 per pet is payable on arrival if you have not already added them to your booking. We prefer you not to leave your pet unattended in the cottage, however is you must please ensure they are in a crate. Please refer to the house manual for doggy does and don’ts.

🍻 Enjoy a nice stroll to our local pub the Three Horseshoes in Wensley. The takes around 30mins or drive around 5mins. Known for its friendly atmosphere, great pub food and dog friendly.

Take the 1 hour scenic stroll along Leyburn shawl to the town for Breakfast, coffee and cake, a refreshing pint or just to browse the local shops. Why not walk the dog on many of our local picturesque footpaths and enjoy a wealth of beautiful scenery, from woodlands, rolling green hills and the nearby Castle Bolton.
If its eating out you require then visit and enjoy the atmosphere of one of our local pubs like the Three Horse Shoes, or sample the exquisite food that can be found at the Wensleydale Heifer or The Saddle Rooms restaurants, both priding themselves in serving locally sourced food.

We made the jump from West Yorkshire to North Yorkshire in 2019. Our family of children, chickens, goose and dogs, couldn't be happier as we renovate a Grade II listed Mill from a residence into a home.
