Beautiful area

Guests love this home’s scenic location.
Cosy Dorset base on the Jurassic Coast. Walk the South West Coast Path, try a spot of fossiling, then enjoy fish & chips and a pint by the sea. Back at Highfieldjurassic, relax in your bright, modern flat with fast Wi-Fi, parking, and a private garden for BBQs, stargazing or the fire pit. Perfect for couples, families, friends and even dogs, it’s a spacious coastal retreat for autumn escapes, festive breaks or summer adventures.

The space
Welcome to Highfieldjurassic, a charming home originally owned by my grandparents, now thoughtfully renovated into two self-contained flats. Your upstairs apartment has been upgraded to a high standard, blending antique character with modern comfort. Locally sourced mirrors, trunks and tables pair with contemporary sofas, beds and chairs to create a space that feels both stylish and cosy.

The light, spacious living/dining room has scenic views across Charmouth and Stonebarrow Hill, with personal touches like photography from local artists. It’s the perfect place to relax, entertain or simply enjoy the surroundings.

The modern kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need for your holiday. Three bedrooms include a bright master, a double and a single — all with bedside tables, lamps, Egyptian cotton linen and towels. The bathroom is new and modern, with a bath, electric shower and Bluetooth speaker mirror.

Outside, your private front garden offers a picnic table, BBQ and fire pit for alfresco dining or stargazing. Access is via a private stairway at the side of the property.

Perfect for couples, families, or friends (and dogs are welcome), Highfieldjurassic is an ideal base for Jurassic Coast walks, fossiling adventures, cosy winter breaks and festive getaways.

Guest access
You’ll have the entire top-floor flat with a private outside stairway and exclusive use of the front garden. Parking and the turning area are available on site and may occasionally be shared, depending on how many cars you bring.

Other things to note
The driveway is steep, so please avoid reversing down.

Parking is in front of the garage (extra space or campervans by request).

We live downstairs with two friendly dogs and a cat — the dogs may bark on arrival to welcome you but are gated and otherwise quiet.

You’ll have the front garden to yourself.

Neighborhood highlights

All our photos are from our walks from home to either Lyme Regis or West Bay. Morcombelake is a wonderful coastal hillside community surrounded by National Trust parks. It has a wonderful farm shop Felicities selling local produce. There is a wealth of stunning walks directly from Highfield to the Southwest Coast Path via Stonebarrow to Charmouth and beyond or Golden Cap towards West Bay and Eype. The seaside hamlet of Seatown is a gentle 45-minute walk via Langdon Woods and there you will find the award-winning pub The Anchor (tourism pub of the year) which overlooks the bay. It serves five-star food created with local produce as well as local wines and ale. Highfield nestles into the side of national trust park Hardown Hill, perfect for stargazing, an early walk with your four-legged friend or simply to take in the most spectacular sunsets and far-reaching views over Lyme Bay to the West, The Marshwood Vale and Lambert's Castle to the North and Golden Cap, Chesil Beach and Portland to the Southeast. It is very centrally located to all amenities and only a few miles from Seatown, Stonebarrow, Charmouth, the market town of Bridport and the famous sites at Lyme Regis (Ammonite) and West Bay (TV show Broadchurch).
