This special place is close to everything. Nestled in the cool, Upper Canyon pines. 2 bed 2 bath. Full kitchen. Elevated deck in the pines. Flat screen and great wifi. Elk, deer and hummingbirds abound. Swim or fish in nearby Grindstone Lake. Hike in the Lincoln National Forest. Relax in the hot tub. Watch the ponies run at Ruidoso Downs. Take in an evening at the casino. Hit the slopes at Ski Apache. Or shop and dine at the shops in Midtown Ruidoso. It’s all right there.

The space
Located on heavily forested Main Road, Ginger Bear Cabin rests in the heart of the Upper Canyon. Our private hot tub will greet you first. Enter the front door to a super cozy living space. How many bears can you count tucked away around the house? Relax in the comfy sofa or make an amazing meal in our full kitchen. Take some time lounging on our elevated deck. Hummingbirds love to dance about up here. In the early mornings while sipping a warm cup of Joe, you might even hear an elk bugle.

Neighborhood highlights

The Upper Canyon is one of the most sought after places to stay in Ruidoso. Main Road winds through tall pines as firs along the Rio Ruidoso. The canyon road is dotted with many quaint and some magnificent homes. It is common to see deer, elk and the occasional bear. The hummingbirds during summer are my favorite.

During the holidays the Upper Canyon is filled with lights. Luminaria and multi colored lights guide the path. There is a horse drawn carriage that takes guests on tours every year starting around Thanksgiving.

Of course, you are close to all the great qualities of Ruidoso. The river. Midtown. Many hiking trails. Ski Apache. Ruidoso Downs and more.
