Formerly Blake Brothers Wine & Spirit Merchants this building has been beautifully restored into a perfect self-catering bolthole for two. Set in the heart of Langport, situated on the banks of the River Parrett on the Somerset Levels, it boasts beautiful views of the river and moor. The pretty town has a great selection of independent shops, bakeries and butchers all within 5 minutes wandering distance.
The space
Through the Carriage way doors, you are led to the Wine Merchants Office, set in established gardens of roses, espaliered pear trees and wisteria. Ascend the original stairs to the loft space apartment where your escape from reality can begin...
Living room
Full height with mezzanine chill out space (accessed via ladder), equipped with TV, B&W Zeppelin, dining table and chairs, ample space for yoga, meditation or entertaining.
Bedroom
Spacious room with king sized bed, sumptuous linen. The room has original features including fireplace and clerks desk and it overlooks the garden.
Bathroom
Full height room featuring roll top freestanding bath for the ultimate in relaxation, WC and basin.
Kitchen
Modern, clean lines, with original features including safe and fireplace. Fitted with dishwasher, oven and hob, kettle and toaster. Larder stocked with all your essentials.
Guest access
Well established English country garden which you will share with us and our young children. It’s beautiful!
Other things to note
Hamper provided on arrival including local produce such as milk, butter, bread and apple juice, although special occasions can also be catered for with additions such as locally made cake, champagne and/or fresh local flowers, we’ll be more than happy to discuss upon your booking.
Sorry, we’re not wheelchair friendly owing to the steep staircase to access the property.
We are a no smoking property.
The fireplaces are not functional.
We can accommodate a baby by providing a travel cot, but we wouldn’t recommend young children who are toddling due to the steep staircase and no stair gates available.
The property is situated in the heart of our garden, which you are most welcome to use alongside us and our two young children.
We are also on Instagram for more photos. @blake.bros

Langport has many cafes and pubs but we would especially recommend The Devonshire Arms – 10 mins drive in Long Sutton, their Sunday Roast is perfection in our opinion!
