With a second-story view of the Historic Downtown District, this impressive studio with its grand arch is just off the upstairs foyer. Built-in marble desk, fireplace, cedar closet, and several windows overlooking Main Street. Private bath and kitchenette make this home away comfortable and efficient.
The space
This Victorian home was built in 1863, the same year WV seceded from VA. It is gorgeous, and yet, homey and comfortable. The room has a queen size bed with memory foam mattress, several windows overlooking Main Street, ceiling fan, keyed entry, kitchenette with fridge/freezer, microwave, sink, cedar closet, desk, smartTV, wireless internet, individual heating/cooling, and full bath.
Guest access
Guest have access to a common gathering area in the upstairs foyer; open and sunny, it is perfect for a light breakfast.
Other things to note
This is a very large house with 6 separate rooms for rent. Because the same family owned and cared for this house for 101 years, many of the original features still exist. It's big, but it feels like home.
Occasional events: Murder mystery dinner, Beginners Art Class, Cooking Class, Scrapbooking/card creation.
