The beach cottage was absolutely amazing. My mum and I had an amazing three nights and we loved every second of it. The cottage is right next to the beach but the best beaches are about 10mins walk and another is about 10mins with the uber boats. Julius and Fondo made us delicious Swahili meals and their hospitality was top notch. Lamu is nothing like any other beaches in Kenya…it’s a must visit!

i went to Shela to have some quiet days after a few crazy weeks and Abdillah's place was the perfect spot. i spent countless hours on the balcony reading with a breathtaking view. for my budget I don't think I could have found a better place. the appartment is extremely well situated in the village, few meters away from any restaurants, docks and beach. their is no hot water in the shower but it didn't bother me at all as it is so warm. i would recommend this place to anyone who wants to visit Lamu and looking for something simple and confortable. Abdillah was the perfect host, he was very kind and caring. He arranged my transfer from the airport and walked me around the village to show me grocery stores, restaurants, shop and activities.

We loved everything about our stay at Shamba Apartment. The place itself is unique, you will find there everything you need. Thoughtful touches, and the staff toke very good care of us. The apartment is linked to Banana House where you will find everything to enjoy a good meal. We will definitely come back ! Thank you Monika for introducing us the island life !
