Overall a beautiful holiday let in beautiful Galloway. Have been visiting Galloway for 20 years and this is one of the nicest holiday lets we’ve stayed with the best view. Really clean and comfortable throughout.

SECLUDED UNIQUE SELF CATERING LOG CABIN

JuliaRating, 5 stars5 months ago
The property is a hexagonal wooden cabin, tucked away in a secluded spot convenient for birdwatchers (RSPB reserves and WWT Caerlaverock are nearby), dog-walking at the fantastic Sandy Hills beach and hiking along the coast. Nonetheless it is only half an hour's drive from Dumfries and/or Castle Douglas. The lodge has lovely views down to the Solway Firth across to the Cumbrian Hills and beautiful night skies. We stayed between Christmas and New Year, when we experienced wild and wet weather as well as deep frosts, but the cabin was always warm and cosy. The open plan kitchen/living area was greatly appreciated, as were the two bathrooms. This was a lived-in but very comfortable space. We all felt at home here, including the dog.
A ceramic white mug holds a vibrant arrangement of wildflowers, featuring shades of pink and yellow. In the background, the serene water and distant horizon are visible, with a blue sky and scattered clouds enhancing the natural setting.

The holiday lodge is a charming wooden structure, featuring a sloped roof and large windows that allow for natural light. The entrance is shaded by an overhang, and outdoor seating is arranged on the porch, framed by a well-maintained lawn and surrounding greenery.

Secluded spacious lodge Dumfries and Galloway

DavidRating, 5 stars2 months ago
One of the best Airbnb accommodations we've stayed in. The lodge was exactly as described (the third bedroom was smaller than we'd expected but I think that's more because we hadn't paid much attention to it), if not better than described (the shower was spacious). Everything was there as we needed it, we appreciated having working utensils in the kitchen (not always the case). The view from upstairs was amazing, much enjoyed from the sitting area upstairs. Julian was a responsive, kind host, as were Ainsley and Steve, our local point of contact (next door). We even had a delicious welcome pack. We had an amazing week exploring the area. Julian's idea of asking people to write down recommendations of places to visit in the visitor's book is an excellent one. Thank you for opening your home to us.

Rabbie Burns Lodge

DanielRating, 5 stars9 months ago
Altogether a lovely long weekend away, this place is perfect if you like to get out walking the hills etc, all the amenities in the lodge where more than I expected and would definitely stay here again in the future, we where a group of 15 and there was more than enough space and bathroom facilities, all in all I’d recommend the Rabbie burns lodge, just one piece of advice and this does not reflect on the place it’s self, if you book here and decided to order takeaway the only restaurant on just eat is an Indian place it’s absolutely terrible and extremely over priced so avoid that at all costs but there are plenty of menus in the lodge for other takeaways which we found later on Great place to go though thanks lynne

Carrick Shore's hidden gem (The Vital Spark)

Beautiful location - quiet and peaceful & 2 mins to beach. Chalet well equipped. Nice to have books and brochures to highlight things of interest. The only problem was leaving the chalet as it was so pleasant to be in (!).

Shore Escape

ShannenRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Ian was very friendly upon arrival, showed us around the cabin and showed us his list of local recommendations - offered to help us with our bags while it was chucking it down with rain and was even kind enough to extend the check out time until whenever was convenient for us! The cabin is beautiful and has everything you need, spacious, comfy and has everything you need! It also has a lovely outside area to watch the sunset and listen to the crashing waves! Would recommend to anyone for a peaceful escape
