Vacation rentals in Gillfoot Bay

Really enjoyed our 3 night stay. We arrived just after over a foot of snow had settled so getting down the long drive was difficult for us. After speaking with Amy, her father was there within the hour with his tractor clearing the entire drive of the snow. Can't fault the support and the place was stunning.

We very much enjoyed our time at the Teapot Cottage. The cottage was clean, modern and well decorated, and very close to the stunning Ennerdale Lake. We were impressed by the welcome basket, which was full of local cakes and breads! Though we didn’t use the pizza oven or barbecue, we did brave the hot tub (in December!) and it was well worth it. The cottage had everything we needed, and had a real cosy feel that was perfect for a Christmas break. We did have some issues with noise coming from the rental next door, however this was just bad luck. Lamissa was also very responsive and proactive, and did everything she could to address this. Overall, the Teapot Cottage is the perfect place if you are looking for a relaxing break (with a little bit of luxury!). We would definitely come back.

Excellent place to stay when walking in the south lakes area

It was a really good stay for my girlfriend’s birthday. She was very helpful. I’d never used air bnb before. And arranged this last minute.

Wonderful place - all the little details thought of and catered for. We particularly enjoyed the views from the hot tub after a nice walk in the lovely local area. Beautifully decked out house with character features but still with all the modern amenities and comforts one expects. We would recommend this place to anyone .

We had a fantastic time at Rockliffe, helped by sunshine all day long for a week! The hosts, Julian and Theo were very friendly and helpful, they even showed us around their beautiful garden! The bungalow is fabulous, clearly been recently renovated, with excellent facilities, cooker, washing machine, plenty of hot water etc. The beds were very comfortable. There is an outside covered area at the back of the bungalow, completely safe and ideal for leaving bikes, shoes etc. There is a large garden to use, with table for al fresco dining, and lovely lawn with garden chairs, mainly for sun bathing for us! The beach is a short walk away, and it was great to cool off after long hot days! Dave

We were given clear instructions on how to find the property and how to get inside. The cottage was spotless. The kitchen had everything we needed for our stay. As it was over New Year, we chose to bring food and cook it but there was a village nearby for supplies. We had our 2 dogs with us and even they were catered for. The mud/wet room was great and a towel was provided for cleaning the pups paws. The garden area was adequately enclosed. The view was gorgeous. It would be even more beautiful in the warmer weather.

Stayed here for a second time in two weeks on our way back from holiday in Scotland (having stayed on our way up too). Spotless and cosy as before although weather had cooled a bit (last weekend of Sept) so was a little chilly at night even with the heater on. Worth noting for late autumn/winter stays. Great to see Mike again - top host. Also it’s worth the half hour drive to the Drover’s Rest pub in Monkhill with its great range of draft beers from local independents, amazing 10 inch hot dogs and ridiculously friendly staff. Also great for dogs. We had a brilliant dinner there.

We absolutely loved our Christmas at Seaglass Cottage. The hosts were great, answered any questions, gave us detailed instructions for check-in and even put up a Christmas tree and decorations for us. We were very lucky with the weather, enjoying walks along the beach right outside, we even found some seaglass (we felt like children!). The property was very clean, the bedding smelled so fresh, the kitchen had everything you might need, very clean bathroom and handy downstairs loo. Every evening we would sit in the cosy conservatory enjoying a glass of wine, watching the sun go down, people walking along the beachpath with their dogs and then into the lounge for a real log fire. It was perfect and we can't wait to return!

Was such an amazing , peaceful getaway! Host was really helpful and friendly and the views were amazing! The bread , butter milk and jam provided was a really nice touch and would definitely rebook in the future!☺️

We had a great stay, from booking until check out Donald was a great host. Recommendations for us to visit, local restaurants and shops. There was a slight issue with the WiFi for about 10 minutes, Donald responded instantly and was resolved straight away, (was probably our fault tbh). The location was fantastic, about 15/20 minutes from the nearest town, Castle Douglas, which is also great. 30-40 minutes from 3/4 beaches. The house itself was great, large kitchen dinner lounge downstairs and a large lounge upstairs. Glass everywhere in the house so you can see the views on a clear day and at night you can sit in bed and watch the stars. The outside space was fantastic, large area out the front and to the rear of the house, our 4 dogs loved this. Also go through the gate and there is a wood which stretches for miles upon miles all tied together by a gravel track with lots of small walking trails. We will definitely be coming back.
