Loved all the things for the kids to do. Perfect for teens and adults too! Enjoyed the laundry being right there on the main level to keep laundry going from endless hot tub sessions, to the game room options keeping everyone entertained. Anna was great at responding to our questions and went above and beyond with details that were so sweet, such as s’mores ingredients provided. Loved our stay for a spring break getaway.

The house was clean and easy to find. It had everything we needed. We wished it would have had curtains on more of the windows only because that’s what we’re used to. We hope to visit this home again in the future.

We loved our stay here! The cabin was welcoming and felt like home away from home. We loved the hot tub and stargazing from it at night. And we loved playing pool and the other games! Would return.

The house was beautiful and spacious for 4 adults, 1 teenager and 3 kids 10 and under. There was plenty to do for all the ages. The trails around the property were great and clear even with major snow drifts and wind covering footprints. There were sleds and snowshoes and a great sledding hill. The seating in the common areas was nice for a group and the fireplace was a nice feature we all enjoyed. The kitchen had everything needed, which was great! Brandon was a friendly and helpful host.

This place is amazing! I stayed for 5 days in March - kind of an in between season - but it was just what I needed. Very peaceful, spectacular sunrises, and I even saw a bald eagle flying really close to the house. This is a beautiful lake home with all kinds of luxuries and a ton of space. I loved the soaking tub and the huge kitchen. I think my favorite thing of all was all the natural light that came in through all of the tall windows. I discovered that Chub Lake Retreat is only 6 miles from Jay Cooke State Park! I drove over there one day and saw the half frozen river and falls. The location of this lake home is ideal for anyone who'd like to explore Jay Cooke or Duluth. Not to mention Chub Lake! The property is large, so the neighbors are not too close. There's a hot tub and fire pit outside too! This is truly a great find. Don't hesitate to book!

I drove 4.5hrs to this very beautiful and cozy Airbnb. My family and I enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere and all the amenities that were available to us. Our host Jennifer was very friendly and made us feel welcome. It was very much worth the price we paid. I would most definitely book again if I have any other trips planned.

My friends and I had an amazing time at this Airbnb! It’s super private, making it the perfect spot to relax and unwind. The views were stunning, and the stars were unreal! The hot tub was a highlight, and we definitely made the most of it. Even though the lake was frozen, we could tell it would be a great spot in the summer. We grilled out, and the place had everything we needed to make it a great experience. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful getaway!

Me and my friends had a great stay. The cabin was clean and included lots of amenities for a comfortable time. The outdoor sauna was an added bonus! We loved how cozy and warm the cabin was, especially with the pellet stove turned on.

This is a great spot to access all the amenities of Cable. Charming little cabin with the right mix of updated and quirky.

Better than advertised! Derek and Brandon are the consummate hosts for their unique “cabin” stay. We stayed three nights and still didn’t take advantage of all the amenities (though the indoor sauna and fireplace got good workouts!). Even in wet winter meltdown weather, the place has a little bit of fairy tale to it with a covered bridge and patch of woods for wandering. Summer outdoors would be sublime, but the fabulous sun room gave us the next best thing. We spent a lot of time there reading, relaxing, and peering with our dogs into the forest vista, straining to spot a big buck or porcupine. If you’re looking for a posh spot to get out of the city and enjoy some nature, privacy, and great hospitality, this is a good bet.

Jeff was very accommodating with any of our needs/requests, and the location was perfect for our trip requirements. The kitchen is well stocked for any cooking you may wish to do during your stay as well, removing the need to go out to eat if you wish to. My familey and I look forward to another stay here everytime we will be visiting in the area in the future!

View of Lakes Superior were spectacular. A great cabin feel for enjoying the North Shore for the weekend!

Had a fun weekend at hygge. 5 min to Birkie Trailhead, beautiful white pine (pinus strobus) surrounding the cabin, super efficient space, cute. Would definitely stay here again.

If you want your own forest sanctuary to explore, look no further. This one of a kind getaway will set you up for peace, adventure and relaxation. If you want to stay on the property only; do it, you will have plenty to do. If you want to take a day trip a bit further North, you are only 30 mins from Gooseberry Falls and more! This was a home away from home and will be on our return list in the future!

Brandi's place was perfect for Birkie weekend. A little bit of a drive to the course and events, but not too bad. The cabin was as advertised and Brandi was very responsive and a great host.

Was a nice quiet place. Cozy to come back to after a day of sightseeing. Electric fireplace in the living room was nice. There was coffee and some snacks that were a nice touch of hospitality. Excellent communication. Accommodated an early check in so we could make it to a favorite restaurant. Thank you for the stay!

Gorgeous place, pretty backyard views, comfy beds, old records and a player, stunning kitchen, perfect temp, and bunnies out every window. We will stay again!

Five friends had a great stay at The Trailhouse. We spent time at an event in Duluth, then explored Duluth and visited the lake. The house was a convenient drive to everything we wanted to do. Matthew was very responsive if we had questions. Everything was clean. Big functional kitchen, open to the dining and living room. Take the scenic drive from I35 on 210, if you can. It was beautiful.

I chose the wrong dates for my stay, but Joseph was very willing to accommodate me and my friends needs.

Beautiful farm house. Host was super responsive. VERY quiet, so much that we wanted to use the noise machines in the rooms. Very warm (we visited in February and below 0 temps) and pleasantly surprised how warm it was. Bathrooms don’t have exhaust fans and would recommend bringing or adding more fans to the property for moving air at night because it was pretty warm. (Yes we turned down the heat at night)

The house was easy to find, and was really nice. The space was great, well decorated, and was clean. The host communicated well, and helped with recommendations for our stay. We will definitely consider staying here again.

Fantastic option for fall/spring steelhead fishing. We loved the place. Incredibly tidy and clean. Great amenities. We can't wait to be back!

The home was perfect for our trip. It was very comfortable. the furniture was comfy as well. it was nice to have the basement space and play pool and ping pong. it was very quiet. It snowed during our stay and Larry came and shoveled the drive for us. The back yard and deck and view are beautiful! I would recommend this location and would stay again.
