Northern lights cosy

SarahRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Absolutely lovely!! The house is so precious and clearly very loved. The interior was homey and cozy and the location was beautiful. My friend and I were able to drive to tons of amazing natural wonders with ease. The farther away spots were also worth it as the drive was beautiful. The amenities are exactly as promised and the beds were amazing to come back to after a long day. Would definitely stay again! It was a little hard to find the first time, since it was dark out, but in the light and getting familiar with the area, it was easy to find :) Lovely hosts and lovely home!!

Canyon cottages

CarsonRating, 5 stars1 month ago
The cabins sit on a road away from where reception is, and the instructions were clear to get there. The hot tub does take a while to fill up, since it is filled with geothermal spring water, but it is definitely a must in Iceland. Relaxing in the hot tub after a long day of hiking and traveling the Golden Circle was a perfect ending.

A log cabin at the river bank!

BrianRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Of course! Here’s a shorter version: ⸻ A Truly Special Stay Staying at Johanna’s place was the highlight of our trip to Iceland. Knowing it was built by her father made it feel incredibly personal and meaningful—there’s a warmth and charm in every detail. Johanna was a fantastic host: kind, responsive, and always ready with thoughtful recommendations that made our visit even more memorable. The location is peaceful and perfectly situated for exploring. We left feeling connected not just to Iceland, but to the story behind this beautiful home. Absolutely unforgettable!

What a great place! We spend 4 days int his house and it was worth it. It’s simple but in the same time got all you need. Place for car parking right next to the house. The host live next to you in the nearby building so able to sort out any needs you have. Recommend it!

We had a wonderful stay. The house is secluded and very peaceful but also a short drive to the nearest town with everything you need. It is warm and clean with the hot tube an extra bonus!

Barn house by the sea

JoshuaRating, 5 stars2 months ago
The barn house was beautifully built and decorated with spectacular views. The skylight windows were perfect for watching for the northern lights. The kitchen had all the basics and some extras like a nespresso machine and pods. We enjoyed cooking there and using the hot tub. The washer and dryer were super helpful. It was a great launching place for the Golden Circle. Stokkseyri is a cute little town with a great local pool. The turf house across the street was fun to explore as was the beach on the other side of the turf wall. It is very near Bakkahestar for highly recommended Icelandic horse rides with a local couple on the beach in Eyrarbakki. Nearby Selfoss has anything you need including an amazing fish market Fiskbud Suderlands for great prices on fresh caught local fish. Kristinn was very responsive and we loved our stay!
