“Zan and Rainbow have a beautiful guest house that is a perfect quiet retreat. They were so friendly, when we arrived the whole family was enjoying the warm summer evening on the front porch and eating blueberries right of the bush in their garden and gave us a warm welcome.”
Surrounded by trees on 1/2 acre, our cottage in Kensington/ Berkeley Hills is a perfect country house in the city. Our relaxing light-filled retreat is decorated with our original textile designs, Kiran's fine art photography and has a hot tub under the stars.
“This place was just where we wanted to stay. There is greenery all around the deck and outside the windows making the place feel so peaceful and like a getaway. We woke up to seeing butterflies, colorful birds and often deer near the trees and creek outside the window. The bed was so soft and the hot tub was perfect for cool nights/mornings when most was the mist is still settled in the hills. The hosts also provided us with recommendations on where to eat and the markets close by, they even left granola by our door. I loved the stay here but there we’re only a few little things that would have made the experience better; I liked that they had Netflix but I wish there was a chrome cast to the tv but that’s not to much of a big deal. I also wish the owners were more clear about the area not being our own, they stay on the same property but still separate buildings so we got the privacy we wanted. Overall would definitely recommend!!”

“Susan was an excellent and caring host. The space was clean and well appointed. The personal touches made you feel welcome right from the start. The coffee, tea, wine and beer in the mini fridge and bowls of fruit and candy were much appreciated. Susan is on site for any help you may need while in Berkeley, but out of sight if you are familiar. The space is walkable to the Gourmet Ghetto and it’s fine restaurants. It is also walkable to Solano Avenue shops and markets. The space was warmly decorated and it had everything you will need to enjoy your time in Berkeley. Thank you for a great stay.”
