Vacation rentals with a fireplace in Bakewell

The property was very clean and spacious with all the comforts of home. Lovely and warm, it helped coming back after a day's hiking. Also, the parking was easy to use, but further car parking available in a couple of local car parks. We couldn't fault the property in any way, would definitely stay there again if visiting the area. Thanks to Claire and the team for making this a memorable stay.

We absolutely adored our stay, the airbnb is so cosy with beautiful decor all throughout. Theres plenty to do in the surrounding area. We would definitely book again, highly recommend!

Beautiful character property in an excellent location. The cottage had everything you would need or want to have a short or a long break. Will is a friendly host but also gave us space to enjoy our stay. We would definitely recommend staying here and I would certainly book again if staying in the area. Also The Checkers pub a short walk up the hill serves great food.

We had a truly wonderful stay here. The house and grounds are beautiful and you can do walks straight from the house. Penny was such a kind and thoughtful host, making sure the hot tub was topped up and that we had everything we needed. She even baked us a welcome cake which was delicious. Would highly recommend this place, lovely grounds and plenty of parking.

The house was everything we hoped it would be. The location was perfect to explore the area, both on bike and walking. Peter was an amazing host and was quick to answer any questions we had, both before we got there and during our stay. We would highly recommend this place.

Had a really relaxing stay in Hopping Cottage, which is well equipped and comfortable. The hot tub and seating area is a real treat and sits in an elevated, not overlooked, private position, with great views. The weather was great and it’s a real sun trap. The dogs loved the enclosed field and had great fun chasing their ball up the hill. The location is great and everything is in easy access, Bakewell, Matlock and Hartington are only 10-15 minutes drive away. Thanks to the owner for the fresh eggs for breakfast, they were awesome !! Would highly recommend and would definitely return !

Daniel is easily the best host I’ve ever had. We are two American students who moved to Nottingham for school and Daniel made us feel right at home. He provided endless recommendations, brought us anything we needed, checked up on us, and was always available. The apartment quickly became our home. It had all the amenities we needed: washer, dryer, iron, kettle, fireplace, hairdryer, etc. He even stocked toiletries and the like. The couch is great for naps and hanging around. The location is super convenient with a bus stop right by, grocery nearby, etc. Daniel is a friendly host who loves to provide his guests with a great experience. Would stay again 10/10.

I’ve stayed at this property several times now as I needed to be back near my childhood home. Any issues are always sorted very promptly and it has been literally a home from home for me. Thank you so much. I’ve loved each time I’ve stayed at the Old Red King.

From booking to check in all communications were fast clear and friendly. The place was immaculatebwith all amenities you need and more. Some lovely touches with the games machine, board games, dab radio and more. Beds were very comfy wirh lovely linen. Location was great. 10 min walk from the opera house. Yes its uphill coming home but nothing too strenuous. Lots of shops around the apartment if you need anything. Parking on the side street was no problem. We loved our stay and will certainky be back as we use the opera house often. Highly recomended hosts 🌟🌟🌟

We were visiting Buxton for 2 shows at the Opera House & the apartment is perfectly placed for this, being just a few minutes walk away, also the Pavilion Gardens and loads of places to eat & drink. Apartment is beautifully furnished and very well-equipped with pretty, sunny little cottage-style garden to front. The main bedroom is lovely, really comfortable bed. Our friend stayed in the basement bedroom and did comment that it was cold BUT he was very warm and comfortable once in bed. Wish we had stayed longer, if only to take advantage of the huge selection of dvds and books 😊. Thankyou, Heather, Kim and Lorna for a really great (too short) stay.

Stayed at Helen’s place for two nights & was excellent. We have stayed here before & it was as good this time as it was before. Beautiful soft furnishings & very clean. It’s situated in a lovely peaceful location yet very convenient to towns & villages. Would have no hesitation in recommending this place and will definitely stay again

Had an amazing time at Holmdene in the Peak District. was perfectly located for all the walking and trips/tours we wanted to do in Castleton. Charlotte & Stuart were wonderful hosts who greeted us warmly on arrival and Charlotte gave us a detailed chat on all the walks we could do tho we didn't get to experience all of them in our short stay due to weather. We had a lovely evening in the pod with friends and we felt very at home in the apartment which was spotless and well equipped for all our needs and we would highly recommend Holmdene to anyone looking to stay in Castleton. we will definitely be back for more visits. Great accommodation exactly what we needed

Man’s communications were excellent and the stay was exactly what we were looking for. Given the location the price was extremely reasonable for the size of the property. Mak was even kind enough to gift desert which was delicious!

We stayed here for a weekend away as a group of school mates all turning 30. The property was the perfect base for us, providing us with the best possible experience. We’re an active, activity based bunch and this stay had something for everyone. Multiple activities, from the pool table, darts board, table tennis, air hockey, and yes the Pool and Sauna. Many of my friends couldn’t believe just what we had found for this stay. Private use of the pool is a great bonus. All beds were made, fresh linens and towels provided. We used the kitchen to cook our breakfast each morning. There’s ample parking for 3-4 vehicles inside and plenty on street right next to the property, which is a quiet street so not a stress. Whilst the decor is aged, we are not particular on this and found it added to the charm. Plenty of beds, bathrooms and spots to relax. We would stay again! The host was fantastic in communication and response to questions posed and made the whole process easy.
