We planned a riverside getaway with some friends and a boat. House has a lovely deck overlooking the river and floating jetty- we spend many hours there. The house itself is really well suited for a family. It has ample outdoor furniture and deck space to enjoy. The Nespresso machine was a treat. The area is safe and quiet, neighbours are close, but never felt intrusive. The house has access to a well kept slipway- launching a smallish boat with a 4x4 was pretty straight forward. Reaching the house with a 2x4 is possible, but would recommend using a 4x4.

Lovely place, really feels like they have put effort into making the space tasteful and pleasant. Beautiful massive trees outside make it feel like you’re in a jungle. Smells nice, super clean, spotless luxurious bedding. Spacious shower. I can be quite obsessive about things needing to be clean or I can’t relax, and this place really put my mind at ease - it’s rare that I feel I can sit back on the couch and relax without removing all the cushions and dusting everything first.

An amazing place. Perfect spot to relax and recharge the batteries. We parked our car and didn’t move for the next two days. We used the braai to cook the excellent quality meats supplied by Marilouise. Communication was excellent before and during our stay. Pictures cannot convey the real beauty, the place was magical even in the rain. Thank you for sharing your environment with us.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The host and owner were both very friendly and helpful. The place was clean and comfortable, and had everything you would need for your stay. We worked remotely from here and the setup was perfect. It was very accessible to the lagoon for kitesurfing. Also had a nice big area for washing kiting gear.

It’s a brilliant and peaceful place on the river. The boathouse is a great place to come with a group of friends or family. This is home away from home for us. The personal thoughtful touches to the place is everything. I always look forward to the good nights rest at any of Elzettes cottages because of the comfortable beds and fresh linen! The cottage is stocked with anything you could have possibly forgotten to pack. Anything from Emergency kit, spices, insect repellent, shampoo, washing machine pods to wood provided for the hot tubs.We are also really greatful for accommodating our baby. A comfortable cot was set up for him with soft linen! Not forgotting our favorite part, the complementary fresh cows milk, baked bread and butter! thank you once again :)
