Places to stay in Walnut Grove

Not only is this a beautiful, historic home, but the accommodations were comfortable and perfect for our needs. I'm particularly grateful for the hosts booking us on short notice (my family had a funeral, with a tight schedule/quick turn around). Definitely recommend this gorgeous space! Conveniently located, too. We don't mind stairs, but there are quite a few—something to keep in mind if steps are an issue. We'd happily come back anytime.

A great place to stay and a pretty good spot right by the lake, lots of rooms and plenty of space for the whole crew for a reasonable price!

We so enjoyed our stay! The space was VERY clean, comfortable and cozy. The host was responsive, helpful and kind. We will be recommending a stay at this old brewery in New Ulm to all our family and friends!!! And will be returning again ourselves. Thank you Mojra!

We really enjoyed our stay at the squirrel. We were a large party and there was plenty of room to spread out as well as having privacy. Justin's home was warm and inviting, very comfortable especially with Minnesota winter winds whipping around outside. We enjoyed the hot tub and the many games provided. The kitchen was stocked well with coffee and tea as well as condiments, pots, pans and really everything needed. It was a pleasure to use the updated appliances available. The washer & dryer allowed us to pack lightly. We'd love to visit again in the summer and enjoy the backyard games and grills. The turquoise squirrel really is a gem!

Dawn was an amazing hostess! Very friendly and responsive, and was able to add a few extra days to my stay. The space was perfect for me to enjoy some alone time while in town to visit family. Fairmont is a small town and I look forward to bumping into Dawn during a future visit 😊

Unreal place. Made me feel like a kid camping in a treehouse again. Wish I’d been able to stay longer. Saw some reviews before booking complaining about how close the host’s house is, it absolutely was not a problem for me. The only time I really even saw it was pulling into the driveway. However, light sleepers beware there is nearby train tracks (within a mile give or take) and multiple trains went by late at night. Not a problem for me but may be for someone else.

Always a great stay! It’s nice to see Joe is actively making upgrades and responds well to feedback about the suites. I’m glad to have a very clean, safe, comfortable place to stay while in town!

Loved it! Comfortable home on a nice street with a lake at the end of the block, and a coffee shop right out the back door. 👌🏼
