“Our family of 5, my husband, cousin, toddler (2yr) , baby (11mo) and myself stayed here for one night. We checked in with Roy’s dad and he’s an incredible human being! He’s soooo sweet, attentive and with great tips. He showed us the place and how everything worked. We immediately fell in love with the house, it’s small but very comfortable. Very stylish and high tech. We enjoyed how close the place is to the beach and how quiet it was at night time. The house comes equipped with everything you’ll need from coffee, sugar to shampoo and body soap. At checkout Roy dad made sure we had everything and when I told him I desperately wanted a guanabana he showed me he’s tree and wanted to share the fruit with me but hadn’t ripen yet. 😔 was a great gesture though. I definitely recommend this place and if I ever come back to Costa Rica, will definitely look Roy up again!”

“We loved Uvita. So close to many of the parks, some incredible water falls, right at the beach, we loved the area. Lots of fantastic places to eat too! The place was the perfect size for us. We were on the go daily and I will tell you Massi, the pool was a dream! I’d come in tired and hot, and in two minutes I could be floating in the lovely pool surrounded by incredible flora and if dusk, you could hear the Holler Monkey almost next door marking out his territory. I loved the Lobster Claws ( plant) in the vase on the outside table. I’m hoping there is a place to put a couple of pictures. The backyard was full of beautiful and interesting plants and flowers. Costa Rica is like a tropical fairy tale. Sooooo incredibly beautiful. It’s almost surreal! I could go on forever but I know I need to unpack.Thank you Massi for sharing your Place with us. Pure Vida! Susan and Mark.”

“Leigh's place (aptly named 9 Degrees North) is absolutely incredible! When looking for a house to rent during our family’s spring break in Costa Rica, this home stood out for its amazing views of the ocean (you can see the Whale’s Tail from their gorgeous deck—and how the tide changes the look of this natural wonder throughout the day!) and because it was in the mountains (we’d heard that the mountain breezes would be welcomed since it’s so warm—hot!—in CR, and this proved to be true). Plus, feeling like you’re in the jungle, yet in a beautiful, newer home, is pretty spectacular. Having our own pool was so wonderful, too! From the moment we booked, Leigh was so accommodating and helpful. She provided great information to help in our trip planning, from where to secure our car rental (we flew into San Jose from the U.S.), to activities and places to check out (waterfalls, hikes, excursions), to best restaurants to visit. This was our first trip abroad as a family and Leigh helped make it go so smoothly. Leigh’s home is beautiful and was perfect for our family’s size (myself, my husband, and our three teenagers). While we kept pretty busy most days going out and about and having adventures, we enjoyed some relaxing, end-of-day time on the lovely deck overlooking the ocean. We read in the hammock, sat in the rocking chairs enjoying the sounds of the jungle, and swam in the pool. Trina, the property manager who lives nearby, provided us with delicious coffee from local farmers, too! Our only issue was having to upgrade our 4x4 vehicle, as we had a very difficult time getting up the mountain the first night. Trina was very helpful (she led us up the mountain, in her own vehicle just ahead of us), and we thought we may be able to make our original car work, but even the team member from the car rental office recommended we get a more powerful 4x4 after he tried to get up the mountain himself in our vehicle and had a tougher time. With two adults and three teenagers, having a more powerful vehicle made a big difference. And after we got that figured out, everything was smooth sailing! So, we’d definitely suggest making sure you have a powerful 4x4 vehicle, particularly if you have a full vehicle as we did. The mountain road is a good 10-15 minute drive on pretty rough terrain. It’s an adventure, though! By the end of the trip, we knew that road well! And, I should mention that you’re super close to a great waterfall at the base of this road. Definitely stop there to cool off and enjoy some really delicious food at the eatery on site. If you’re headed to CR and wanting a spot that provides not only stunning views but also proximity to a great small town and plenty of outdoor adventures, this is your place. We’d definitely stay at Leigh’s place again. CR is a special place and we look forward to visiting again someday. Pura Vida!”
