The surroundings are perfect for discovering several beautiful places in the Netherlands. Hoorn, Alkmaar, Enkhuizen, Volendam and Amsterdam are all within half an hour driving distance. You are fifteen minutes to the IJsselmeer and with half an hour to the beach.

In the 2700m2 backyard of our farmhouse are two detached tiny houses with a large private garden and private entrance with lots of privacy. The cottage is within walking distance of the historic city of Medemblik and close to Hoorn and Enkhuizen. Amsterdam is 45 minutes away. Various possibilities for water sports. Beach, ports, shops etc. reachable within 5 minutes by car and 25 minutes on foot.

We had a lovely 8 night stay in this cozy cottage by the canal. The bed was comfy, the place was peaceful, and Noortje was a kind host who even gave us fresh eggs from her chickens. There was some parking lot construction early on and occasional activity from the business next door, but nothing major. Just a heads-up: check-in and check-out were in person (not self-service), and there was a tourist tax to be paid in cash at the end, which wasn’t mentioned upfront in the listing. Overall, a great spot for a quiet getaway.

We had a wonderful, relaxing time in Jakkos beautiful country house!

We spent 8 nights here as a couple with a dog and were very excited. Everything as described and in great condition. Super well-maintained complex and all employees always friendly and helpful. The nearest shopping facilities were also pointed out directly. The surroundings invite you to cycle. Informative note: The accommodation only has bed linen in its normal state. No towels, no toilet paper, no detergent, no soap,..... But there is a small starter package on arrival. All in all: great, we have already recommended it strongly.

De Smederij: characteristic apartment

We had a wonderful week at Theo & Ageeth’s property. They were very welcoming and had plenty of ideas for local trips to check out the sights. The bed is extremely comfortable, add to that the quiet surroundings, and we slept very well. The kitchen is well equipped and has most everything you need to prepare your own meals. While there is no oven the microwave does double duty. The apartment has a wonderful outlook to their beautifully manicured garden. We used their bikes to discover the local area which is also very beautiful with spring tulips and flowers. Highly recommended.
