Monthly Rentals in Thornthwaite

Stayed at the old school house for 1 night to break up a long drive from Scotland. So it was last minute (4.30pm) The instructions were sent immediately so no waiting around. A beautiful welcoming house with loads of character, amazing for a party size we had, beds were comfortable and there were everything we needed with a well equipped kitchen, air fryer, showers etc. Washing machine and maiden so helpful for us as we needed a set of clothes. Location lovely and private. Host helpful and approachable. House lovely and clean! We as a group are already planning another stay here.

What a place for a weekend stay. The views are incredible and there is so much to see and do around where the house is placed. The hosts were incredible and very welcoming. Very easy to talk to if you needed something and very chatty. I would definitely recommend this Air B and B if you are looking for a quiet little getaway with your partner.

Where to start?! The amazing location? The peacefulness? The brilliant host?😊 I messaged Kim several times before staying because we hardly ever get away, and I wanted everything to be perfect. She always answered quickly and was able to put my mind at ease. She even sent me a video of the stairs getting down to the flat so I could make sure I could handle them, as I have health issues. She was brilliant at suggesting places based on what we and our dog like to do, and on my accessibility requirements. We had glorious weather and enjoyed breakfast on the terrace every day listening to the beck. Kim's place is minutes to Keswick, but it's so quiet, you wouldn't know. We found it very easy to get everywhere. My dog really enjoyed the back garden. Having Roku was fantastic, too, & the fridge was a great size. I wouldn't hesitate recommending Kim's place. The only tiny issue was the bed is very soft, but that's down to personal preference. The Round in Keswick has fabulous burgers!

We had a great stay, definitely helped by the weather. Bassenthwaite is a great location to explore lots of the northern and western lakes and tick off more wainwrights for us. We had a lovely meal at the village pub just around the corner and enjoyed sitting by the stream. The place is very homely and has a very well equipped kitchen to self cater. We’d definitely recommend. Thank you for a lovely stay
