Joan's place made for a comforting, warm farmhouse feel. Absolutely immaculate! And even the kids commented on the farmhouse decor. Felt just like home. The only minor detail I would have liked is at least 1 king size bed in one of the two bedrooms. This would not hold me back from booking again in the future though for a visit to see my son in Navy A school. Another note we found it quiet and centrally located to everything we needed!!! Don't hesitate to book! This IS your home away from home! -Tressa Comeau

Our stay was very comfortable. The apartment was clean and smelled very good. The towels, pillows and sheets were of good quality. All the areas were comfortable and the attention of the hosts was very good. Julie is very kind and attentive to all the details. We were in Chicago for our son's graduation from Navy boot camp. It was just a few minutes from the military base. I recommend them for your stay :)

This place was great! The host Bikash was amazing, very friendly and responded quickly. It's a great home and was a perfect fit for my family. The only thing was one of the beds was a small cot and not very comfortable and the other two were comfortable but low to the ground. Overall though it was a great stay and would definitely recommend.

A Peaceful Get-Away

We throughly enjoyed our 2 weeks visit. It was like home away from home , with all the pleasures home. It's a charming apartment style unit with all the necessities , large screen TV, a terrific kitchen with full size frig, stove, dishwasher and all the dishes, glassware and utensils. Bedroom was equipped with a extremely comfortable queenside bed and great pillows, so comfy. Lovely bathroom with a great walk-in shower and plenty of towels and amenities. Vicki, was delightful and so very helpful. She made sure our every need was attended to. I can't say enough about how pleasant an experience it was to stay at her Peaceful Get-Away. Thank You, Vicki, we hope to return next year. Ted & Linda

I needed a couple nights for a quick work job in Chicago area. The price was more reasonable than any of the Chicago hotels. Everything about this place was wonderful. Private jacuzzi tub was very welcomed amenity as well. Summer let me know within hours that I had left my Keen boots there. she worked with me to get them shipped back to me. very gracious hosts and I highly recommend visiting.

Somehow, Jeremy has managed to create a luxurious modern space full of amenities…without losing any of the historic cabin charm. So many thoughtful touches. Gift basket with additional amenities, full kitchen, gleaming tile floors transitioning into original beautifully preserved wood floors. Fireplace ambience with the flick of a switch. Large smart TV’s. Cozy 3 season porch leading to hot tub outdoor oasis. Puzzles, games, plenty of towels, giant comfortable beds for every guest. Especially loved how the place is nestled within a historic cabin community while still feeling completely private. It’s like stepping back into all the best parts of historic Midwest cabin life surrounded by modern comfort and luxury.

Steves home is a lovely place for large and small families! It's jam packed with everything you could possibly need and MORE! Steve was very proactive and reached out often. He even went above and beyond by showing a personal caring touch. I left my elderly parents in the unit and traveled home early. Steve was so kind and helpful with them. All the furniture is comfortable and the bedding is all crisp white and lovely. The courtyard outside was also beautiful and I loved watching the local wildlife each morning with a cup of coffee out there during my stay. I will definitely stay at this place every time I come to Shaumberg.

My family and I enjoyed our stay at this wonderful house. The inside was nice and clean the back patio had a grill and the yard is spacious for plenty occasions. There are nearby restaurants and a dollar general. Which was convenient. Heard music coming from the school down the street. From the back yard. Sounded awesome. Grays Lake was beautiful. Took a nice walk with the family and enjoyed the scenery. The naval camp is nearby a big recommendation for those that have young adults training BMT. My son just finished out their 10 week training. It was convenient. We visited Chicago twice and checked out the Navy Pier, Cloud Gate and the Shedd aquarium. Use apps to pre purchase parking in some cases you with save half the cost. Traffic to Chicago is congested expect to be in traffic for a very long time. Paying for tolls seems liked the faster way to get to Chicago. My drive usually took 70-90 minutes in traffic. Overall great place to stay. Enjoyed the fresh air and scenery.

My mom and I spent the weekend at Terri & Ted’s home this past weekend and it was everything we wanted and more! The location was incredibly close to all the shops, restaurants and coffee spots! Only a 10 minute walk from the lake as well. The home itself was so cozy and clean. It felt like we were living in an episode of Gilmore Girls! We will definitely be back.

Monica has a beautiful home. Lots of space for our small group to spread out and enjoy the home and lake. Monica has thought of everything we could think of. From plenty of beach towels, to many kitchen essentials. We loved the boathouse and lawn, easy to watch the kids swim, play a few yard game’s and enjoy the sunset. We would absolutely visit again.

The home exceeded my expectations. The outside was beautifully landscaped and had so much room for the kids to run around and play. The interior of the home was spacious that no one was crowding anyone (8 adults, 8 kids and 3 infants). It felt like home! Barbara was very good about responding to an issue right away and she is so sweet. Thank you Barbara for opening your home to create happy memories for other families.

We really enjoyed our stay at Mary’s. We were in town for a Navy boot camp graduation. It was an easy drive back and forth and close to all the stores you typically need for the day to day things. It was a quick walk to the village center for coffee or a bite to eat. The setting is lovely and it was a real treat to be waterfront. The bed was comfortable and Mary provides everything you might want for extra blankets, towels, etc. We would definitely recommend a stay at this beautiful home.
