While the Wild Spirit Wolf Sanctuary is not exactly a zoo, it is home to around 80 rescued wolves and wolf/dog hybrids, foxes and signing dogs. There are daily tours. Closed on Mondays.

Located in Candy Kitchen, New Mexico this animal sanctuary is dedicated to rescuing and providing sanctuary for captive-bred wolves and wolfdogs. They have a really cute gift shop with wild wolf treasures. This is around a 2 hour drive West on I40.

It is really fascinating to learn how wolves behave, and these people know their stuff. A great day trip.
