“Luis And his mother Fernanda are the sweetest people you’ll ever stumble upon. When Luis knew that we will not be able to come to Amantani as scheduled due to strong waves; he did everything possible to help us find accommodations in Capachica and made sure that we’re comfortable until we get to Amantani. The next day when we arrived in Amantani, Luis greeted us at the port and helped carry our bags to his place. It was not too far from the port however due to the altitude, we had to catch our breath a few times. Once we arrived at his place with speculator views of the lake, Fernanda came out and gave us the warmest hugs. We were amazed by their kindness and Fernanda’s cooking is seriously one of a kind. We witnessed her digging a few potatoes out from her garden and it then later turned in a delicious and filling quinoa soup. Fernanda had beautiful Knitting and weave works for sale along with many interesting stories to tell. We brought them some salt from the salineras and also gave them some organic essential oils and they were truly grateful for the small gifts. Thank you again for providing such a wonderful and delightful experience. We can’t thank you enough. If you’re considering staying here please look no further book it ASAP.”

“On my first trip to Peru, I spent two nights and three days under Mariluz and Henry. As a result, this trip was personally the most memorable experience that surpassed Machu Picchu and Cusco. I want Japanese people to visit their places, so I will leave a review in Japanese. Amantani Island is a self-sufficiency-based place that can be called an “ideal town” that is almost completely cut off from the outside. It can be said that there are almost no such places in the world anymore. There are no supermarkets, cars, or hospitals on the island. Based on the principle that each family farms with the power of animals and animals by hand while coexisting with natural rhythms, receives pesticide-free ingredients obtained from nature's bounty, and also supports and supports each other constantly. Living Once you step into this island, you can't help feeling the powerful energy of the earth. Inhabitants of the island dressed in national costumes can be seen farming with cows and sheep or walking patiently on a long long road with luggage on the back. Therefore, what you can experience on this island has nothing to do with what you would experience at a so-called luxury hotel. However, it is the best place for those who want to understand the true meaning of coexistence with nature and the significance of human kindness and happiness both physically and mentally. Mariluz and the Henry family are also simple people based on food derived from nature's bounty, but we have been more entertaining than visitors. Every meal that Mariluz made with great care every day was made with organic materials from the island and was very delicious. From their house's patio, you can enjoy wonderful views of Lake Titicaca and terraced fields. Occasionally locals with sheep, donkeys and cows slowly walk along the road in front of them. If you look up at the night sky, you will see a starry sky. By the way, there is solar hot water in this house, so I was very thankful for taking a warm shower. (However, if you are staying with a large number of people, you may run out of hot water along the way, but please take patience, such as taking a bath at a different time.) Also visit Pachamama and Pachatata It is recommended. It is a place where you can enjoy the wonderful scenery and the energy of the earth. (If you want to see the view of the border with Bolivia, hiking to Pachamama and Pachatata is a must) Below are some tips to make your stay comfortable. ・ Because it gets cold anytime in the morning and night, bring warm clothes. Cold protection is essential. ・ It takes about 15 minutes uphill from the harbor to their house. It is better to go with less luggage. Think of it as a hike. (I think Peru travel itself can be enjoyed more easily with less luggage) ・ Hiking shoes, hats and sunscreen are essential to explore the island. ・ They can only speak Spanish and Quechua, so if you can't speak these languages, you can communicate with gestures. I am a Spanish speaker, so I was able to hear from them very interesting stories such as stories about the island and nature. If you can't speak Spanish, please bring an analog dictionary. ・ Basically, mobile phone radio waves do not enter. There is no WIFI. (Therefore, Google translation cannot be used locally) ・ Meals are 15 sol for lunch and 20 sol for dinner. Breakfast is included in the price. The water was purchased with 3 sols. ・ Basically, shopping on the island is impossible. Take everything you need. (Tissue, shampoo, cosmetics, small items such as medicine) ・ Make sure you have enough cash in advance. You can't use any ATM or card here. ・ You cannot buy snacks on the island. Bring a snack for those who are hungry. In my case, every meal was delicious and it was very satisfying. ・ It is convenient to take the mobile battery fully charged. ・ The boat from Puno takes about 4 hours via Uro. The boat from Chifron Harbor is about 1 hour 15 minutes, but the last flight of this shared boat is every day at 2pm. (Departs as soon as the capacity reaches 10 people) If you want to ride this boat, it is essential to make an itinerary according to the time. ・ It is possible to purchase Mariluz handmade alpaca wool hats and lovely accessories at a very reasonable price. I also bought gloves and a hat. Since it is a valuable source of income for them, we strongly recommend purchasing for support. The product itself is just wonderful. ・ If you are recommended to try fish dishes (Trucha), please try it. It is very delicious. ・ Two teenage sons are working hard on practicing musical instruments every day. ・ Mariluz is a specialist in herbal medicine that grows naturally on the island. If you feel sick, please consult her. I think she will prescribe herbs. ・ Do not enter local fields without permission. ・ Do not take pictures of local people without permission. ・ If you pass by locals, please say hola or Buenos días. ・ If possible, stay from 3 nights is recommended. I wanted to stay longer if possible. Mariluz, Henry, and all two sons are very warm and will accept travelers from all over the world. The three days in this warm home have been an exciting experience for me. Finally, it was very sad to say goodbye to them. What I feel right now when I leave this island is that I feel as if my heart has been renewed by staying on this island. Amantani Island on the faraway Lake Titicaca teaches you not only to rethink yourself, but also to trust and help each other, to open your mind, and to coexist with nature with gratitude for nature. . I hope that as many people as possible can visit Mariluz and Henry.”

Alberto's accommodation is as shown in the photos. To get to the accommodation, you have to leave from the city of Puno on a tourist boat that costs 30 soles for round trip and you have to get off at the port of Huayllano. It should be noted that Taquile is a calm island, without pollution and without cars. If you want to get away from the stress of everyday life, Taquile is the place to be. During our stay, Alberto and his family were very kind to us. Nancy, Alberto's wife, has prepared many delicious dishes with local ingredients and has shown us how she weaves her craft. We were delighted to see how the whole family works as a team to provide good service to tourists. Without a doubt, we recommend this accommodation where we would definitely stay again.”
