This is a nice little cabin nestled at the edge of the woods off highway 16 in Sugar Grove Virginia. There is a covered open outside fireplace area. Appalachian Trail is just up the road.
“We were looking for a quiet cabin off the beaten path to minimize the fireworks our dog would be subjected to on the fourth of July. Lee's place was perfect! Very quiet, peaceful retreat snuggled on some beautiful land. We thought it was going to be a bit more rustic/bare bones, but the bathroom/kitchenette/wifi were actually really excellent, and in a time when everyone is worried about covid, it was so nice that everything was exceptionally clean when we got there, and he even had a bottle of hand sanitizer waiting for us. Lee was a great host, very responsive and friendly.”

“Weldon and Brenda were lovely hosts. They live a few houses down from the property and greeted us upon our arrival. They gave us a tour of the rental cabin and pointed out the personal touches that make this location so comfortable and cozy. It was wonderful and a huge asset to us that our dog was welcome. Our stay was quiet and peaceful, exactly what we hoped for.”
Charming bungalow next door to Hungry Mother State Park. Wheelchair accessible home. Near boat ramp. Cable tv. Convenient to town however home sits in valley that is rural and relaxing. Property allows for tent camping near creek behind the home. Lots of wildlife and walking trails at state park. Enjoy paddle boating, feeding ducks, and fishing. Great spot for couples get away or family enjoyment. The inside of the home is a smoke free environment. Wonderful rolling creek behind home.
“Quiet location perfect for escaping busy city life and returning to nature. Also, it is a perfect launching pad for outdoor lovers: walking distance to Hungry Mother State park trails and lake (fishing, boating, swimming), and driving distance to Grayson Highlands State Park (wild ponies) and Mount Rogers. The cabin fit my family of 4 perfectly. There were nice unexpected touches that offered us additional activities of unplugged family time: basketball hoop and a corner of board games. For those not familiar with rural living, the water at the cabin is well water. It is perfectly safe to drink, but does come with a sulfur smell and taste that may be a new experience for city dwellers. Grocery stores are nearby (5min drive) where you can buy bottled water for drinking/cooking use.”
