Vacation rentals with a fireplace in Soyaux

This is a beautiful place to stay on the banks of the Charente which we enjoyed from the canoe but just loved seeing it flowing along edging the grounds. We came on the train which is a very easy journey from Paris to Jarnac. It is then less than an hours walk along the cycle path or quicker along the very quiet road. The market in Jarnac is excellent and there’s some nice cafes and bars. In Bourg Charente itself the bar tabac sells morning baguette and croissants, especially good to put an order in the day before. Also in the village La Ribaudiere restaurant was absolutely amazing and an experience not to be missed. So this is a great place to stay if you are car free like us but bicycles really help too especially with direct access to the 400 km path La Flow Velo. Lots of fun! Thanks to Andrea and Dominic.

beautiful little house ,very nice welcome , quiet house thanks to Kelly for her welcome as well as her son . small note but really small ,I think the TV would be welcome for the evening . otherwise very well equipped. Loved the decor everything is clean .

We stayed for a month and had an incredible time. A Beautiful countryside that is easy to explore on foot and bike. House is great and lots of cooking kit.

We had booked Hermine's house for 9 nights, were very, very friendly received by the co-host Mélanie, who looked after us very nicely in person or by phone during our entire stay with all questions. The house is very nice, cozy and tastefully decorated. The kitchen has everything you need. For us, the location was ideal because we like peace and seclusion. The surrounding villages are very small and tranquil, but you can shop nearby. We did some bike tours, the paths are well developed. We also enjoyed Angoulème very much. All in all a nice stay and perfect care! Merci beaucoup à Mélanie! Note: The stairs to the upper floor are beautiful but not suitable for people who are not good on their feet. You must not enter with shoes, it has no handrail and is very irregular and smooth. But that was no problem for us.

The accommodation is very clean, very functional and comfortable with a real lounge area where we were able to meet up with 8 people and, which was very nice and above all very convenient, 4 identically furnished bedrooms each equipped with a bathroom and toilet. A real plus! One downside: the kitchen area, although functional and very well-equipped, is a little too small. Plus, the owners are lovely and welcoming! In short, a property to remember...

Very quiet and pleasant accommodation. Plenty of space and well appointed. I had a long stay and enjoyed this place all the way. Florence is very kind and attentive. I would highly recommend it.

1 night spent in this studio, completely self-contained (kitchen, bathroom, washing machine) and on 2 levels. Flexible check-in with lockbox, perfect for one or more days near Angouleme.

Very pleasant stay at Stéphanie's. The accommodation is spacious, well equipped and very well located for visiting the city.

As soon as we walk through the door, we enter a refined and atypical universe. Very nice apartment, tastefully decorated in the center of the village, all services are nearby. "La Toscane" restaurant is right on the doorstep, and a little further "Aux Caprices" warm welcome and tasty dishes. Thank you Alexandre. See you soon.

Lovely stay with a spacious apartment. Nice and quiet even when you are less than 1km from busy areas. The host was very helpful and friendly and gave us information about different areas around France as we were travelling around for a week. Nice comfortable, clean bed.

Very good stay in this beautiful and AUTHENTIC family home with undeniable charm. We were 4 adults and 2 children 3/4 years old: the children loved playing in the sandpit/bocce court in the garden and the educational farm nearby, we adults we loved the large friendly kitchen and the masterful bathroom with views of the countryside. Small bonus for dishes: what a pleasure to eat on cute vintage plates! The house is very old, so it was a little wet when we arrived (no surprise given the season) but once the fireplace started and the house ventilated, everything was normal. The moment we walked into La Grenouillere, we knew we had made the perfect choice for our holiday in France. We were a party of 12 (three families) and felt we had so much space to spread out and relax, which we did so instantly. The positioning is wonderful, away from busy life, just nature and silence all around. Everything was lovely -beautiful building, large indoor living areas, wonderful outside spaces too with a fantastic pool, big enough for us all. The kitchen was well equiped for our cooking evenings, the barbeque was brilliant for outside cooking and a popular choice for all. Morning coffee on the back terrace overlooking the grounds was a great way to start the day as was sipping wine and beer sitting out the front watching the sun down and then star gazing . Playing boules on the ready made boules pitch was a highlight, so was playing cards round the kitchen table, big enough for us all. The surrounding area was beautiful and well used by us all, cycling or running on the many gravel paths criss crossing the countryside. There is plenty to do in and around the area-towns / cities to visit. We went to Angouleme and Poitiers and enjoyed eating outout and seeing the sites. We also enjoyed the canoeing at Mansle (wonderful to see the countryside from the meandering river on our 3 hour paddle), the inflatable water park near Angouleme was a big hit with our kids (big kids), as was the tree tops high ropes with us all. All in all we had an amazing experience and brilliant time. We were all very sad to leave.

The setting is beautiful, surrounded by vineyards and sunflowers. The local town is 10 mins away, with a market. The property is a lovely old farmhouse, with lots of space and nice furniture, comfortable beds and a refreshing pool. Valerie made us feel very welcomed. A great place to unwind.

Really welcoming host nothing to say everything was perfect accommodation perfectly matches the photo and really clean I really recommend you to spend weekends or holidays at his place really great you will not regret it I guarantee you 🙂🙂🙂

We had a great stay at Valerie’s house. Due to ferry delays we didn’t arrive at the house until 10.30pm. Valerie had left the house with lights on and the key in a safe place so we could check ourself in. The house itself is stylish. Interesting pictures on the walls, lovely furniture and amazing choices of colour schemes. It felt like a really good Airbnb experience where you got to experience someone else’s home. Kitchen was really well stocked, beds were comfortable and linen and towels were all fine. The pool was amazing. It was 38-40 degrees whilst we were there and the pool was a saviour. We have 3 x young children 3,5,7 so are always a bit nervous about pools but, for us, this pool was far enough away from the house and it had an alarm. There is no fence though, so something to think about with kids. The layout of the house is 2 x double bedrooms in one section. Then downstairs there is another bedroom that has the mezzanine. It was a great stay, would highly recommend.

Great stay for an extended weekend away. The weather was rainy but the house was spacious and very pleasant, with many activities possible. Thank you!
