Cottage vacation rentals in South Australia

This was the perfect stay as a gateway to the Coonawarra region and surrounding areas. Georgie’s cottage was full of character, peaceful, well appointed and also gave us an informative background to Penola’s history. We so appreciated the warm welcome we received by the host (full marks for the Tassie Jantz also!) We highly recommend this place and would definitely stay here if we visit the region again.

We only wish we could’ve stayed longer! Scott, Craig and Jan made us feel right at home! They went above and beyond, giving us a private tasting. We had the unique experience of staying when the grapes were being harvested. Scott and Craig gave us a tour of the process. The cottage was exactly what we needed, and the hot tub and views were spectacular! We would love to return to the Barossa Valley and come back to this cottage!

A cute little air bnb, can’t believe how stocked up the kitchen was didn’t have to go out to eat at all. Super helpful with suggestions and just a wonderful time all round.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Cumquat Cottage. The location was perfect, an easy walking distance to great restaurants on the Parade and boutique cafes and shops scattered around the streets, whilst being quiet and peaceful. The accommodations were exactly as described, spotlessly clean and smelled devine. It's super close to the city too. We especially loved that the hosts gave our daughter and dog special attention, that the home was subtly themed and the kitchen was well-stocked with everything we needed to cook meals, and more! Meriel and Patrick are fantastic hosts, they are very responsive to our questions, incredibly welcoming and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. We would highly recommend this Airbnb to anyone looking for a high end, relaxing getaway. We can't wait to come back.

We stayed at this house to celebrate a special occasion, and the experience was amazing! The place is cozy and exactly as shown in the photos. The location in the middle of nature is perfect for those seeking peace and tranquility, and the bathtub and fireplace make the stay even more special. The house was clean and well-equipped, with everything we needed for a comfortable weekend. Communication with the host was excellent, always responding promptly and being very attentive. We highly recommend it for couples looking to relax and unwind. We hope to return on another occasion!

This cottage was everything we needed for a relaxing 2 nights in Auburn. It was so clean and well equipped to stay self-sufficient. The kitchen had all the basics you need to cook for yourself. Upon arrival, there was a fresh loaf of bread, eggs, milk and cereals for breakfast which was such a lovely, homey touch. The bathroom has the most incredible bath that was perfect to unwind after a long day of doing touristy things. The location is perfect, quick walk to the main strip and local Rising Sun Hotel, and access to the notorious Riesling Trail which we ran 7km of. The only thing to note is if you bring your dog, like we did, note that it is not a fully enclosed front/backyard so would recommend keeping dog on lead if recall isn’t great or doggo tends to wander. Otherwise we would highly recommend this place!

Lovely cottage decorated beautifully. All we needed for our 5 night stay with our Jack Russell terrier along. Great carport and lots of places to sit and relax. Easy walk to Church Street and the Royal Oak hotel with its pet friendly beer garden and excellent meals. Definitely recommend Airs Cottage when visiting Penola.

We had a lovely stay at Milt and Anne Marie’s house. It was quirky and full of interesting artwork, and we loved the light filled upstairs space. There was everything we needed in the kitchen - we appreciated being left essentials like milk, bread etc and also having the use of items left in the larder by previous guests. Milt and Anne Marie, and Myrtle the dog, were friendly, helpful and welcoming. Lots to do in the city, all within walking distance. Would definitely recommend.

From the moment we walked in, we felt right at home. The house was very cosy, The kitchen was fully equipped, with the addition of spices and cooking condiments if needed. Plenty of towels and beach towels supplied as well as bathroom necessities which is great for a traveller that likes to carry little. The back yard was very quaint and peaceful, great for my morning coffee and read. The house was is in a great spot, walking distance to beach , shops, and many great coffee shops and restaurants. Overall very satisfied and will definitely return .

We had a wonderful weekend here, private with a beautiful view. The property is clean and stocked with everything you need, our dog had a blast running in the large wheat field, which also made for stunning sun sets. Highly recommend, Thanks again!

We loved staying at Anna’s beautiful little BnB. It was so homely, welcoming and clean! She provided the essentials for the kitchen, bathrooms and living. It’s a great location for the Main Street for groceries and cafes and restaurants. Then only a short drive to the beach or wineries. Wish we had more time there. Thanks Anna it was so comfortable and really lovely to stay!

A beautiful cottage, with well thought out details. Comfortable beds and bedding, very cute outdoor area. We enjoyed getting ready here for a wedding. The place is also right in town, but feels very private and quite. Thank you for having us!

The home exceeded our expectations. A perfect mix of classic and modern. Quality interior furniture, high end appliances. Beautiful gardens, filled with colorful birds. Samantha provided more than the basic food stuff- bread, wine, many spices, etc. We felt very comfortable there. Extraordinary. If we could give more than 5 stars we would.

An absolutely gorgeous property, with the modern country design perfectly fitting. Boasts an amazing panoramic view of the vineyards and the ocean which was peacefully enjoyed with a morning coffee on the decking. Perfectly located to visit all of Mclaren Vales wineries and town centre. The visiting kangaroos right on the doorstep was the finishing piece of a very enjoyable stay. I will definitely be returning to Wildhill the next time I stay in McLaren Vale.

Perfect location for a 2 night get away to attend a friends wedding just down the road at Serafino. Highly recommend the place and the hidden forest walk out the back. Mel and Craigs place was lovely and the sunlit cottage courtyard perfect for newspapers and coffee.

We dont get to stay in mount gambier very often and at a last minute booking found this little place to stay. it was clean , lights were on to greet us that made it feel homely after arriving late in the day. cosy and location waas fantastic as we walked to the main street etc. thanks for having us x

We loved staying at zen cottage. The house was homely and inviting and in a lovely spot. Being animal lovers we enjoyed the nearby horses, chooks, and India, the super friendly resident cat. It was a great place to stay in between family engagements. Thanks Elizabeth!

We loved our stay in Robe!!! Angela's place is in an amazing location!! From the back grass area you can walk straight through to the main street, and the other way is a path to the beach! Classic beach shack experience with everything you could possibly need.
