Monthly Rentals in Sougia

The rooftop studio, with spacious and shady patio, and fine views, provided a fantastic base from which to swim (yes, even in April), eat local food in the restaurants above the beach, explore the coast and inland villages on foot, and generally chill out. Maria was welcoming and helpful, as were the owners of the well stocked general store just opposite. The studio came with everything we needed, including an electric kettle, fast wifi, and necessary items for handwashing and drying our clothes. We were able to arrive by bus and boat (via Paleohora) and return by bus to Harnia. Sougia, and Maria's studio, proved exactly the relaxed and simple antidote to Crete's magnificent but more crowded attractions that we were hoping for. Thank you, Maria!

When I visit Crete, I like to alternate between basic accommodations and nicer places to stay. Inside and outside, Eftihis’s place set a new standard for niceness. It’s off-the-charts nice. It’s out-of-this-world nice. It belongs in the Pantheon of Niceness. Great place, great host. Nice!

Monastry Estate Retreat in Moni / Sougia is the place to be if you seek serenity, quiet and some extra care. There is a choice between the hotel suites and the guest houses. We chose the guest house because of wanting a kitchen. I'm sure we'll visit again and trty out the other rooms. The staff are very helpful and friendly and always interested in taking care of the guest. We had our cat with us and she was very welcomed. We were there for 6 nights and really felt the peace. Sougia is just 10 mins by car and hiking is possible from different locations. Certainly recommended if you want peace and quiet in the mountains near Sougia.

The place was just beautiful - inside and out. Beautiful scenery looking out the windows and from the patio. Very quiet and peaceful. Really lovely place and great hosts.
