Absolutely incredible place to stay. Jeff is an incredible host - as hands off as you need but also ready for anything you might ask or require. The home is impeccable - from sharp knives, to great water pressure, fast wifi, crisp ac in the bedroom, and a beautiful kitchen. The living room is cozy, with the most incredible jungle backdrop — you absolutely could not ask for a better place to stay. We’ve stayed in many, many airbnbs, and this is absolutely in the top 5.

This was an excellent stay. The host was super friendly and easy going. The house including garden and pool were very relaxing. The beach was only 800 m away and was one of the best ones for beach hikes. We enjoyed our stay so much that we nearly forgot to explore the surroundings farther than the beach. We would recommend this place for sure!

Gelena owns a piece of paradise and we loved our week in her beautiful guest house. We were very fortunate to see monkeys swinging in the surrounding trees one morning! The weather was perfect every day. 30 degrees in early March. We enjoyed using her pool every day. Even though she lives in the house next door, we felt that we had lots of privacy. But it was also nice to know someone local was close by to answer any questions we had. It was great to be able to do laundry. We also enjoyed having a very nice kitchen to cook when we wanted. We highly recommend Gelena's guest house if you're looking for a clean, cozy, quiet place to call home as you explore Costa Rica. Absolutely loved our stay at Carlos' place! If you are looking for a beautiful and private location with a jungle type feel, but still relatively close to nearby towns and activities this is the perfect place. The house was pristine, spacious, modern and beautiful with incredible sounds of the jungle through the wall to wall and ceiling to floor screen door and large window openings...the experience was of being outside while inside the house. The walk through the jungle to the community waterfall was magical. Birds abound; we also saw some deer. Carlos was a perfect host - nearby if we needed him, with great local recommendations and advice. The gated neighborhood is right off the main road yet incredibly private. The only time a 4x4 is needed is driving through the community road and up a short hill to the house. There is a stunning beach very close by that almost brought me to tears at sunset due to the incredible beauty. Highly recommend this place!
