Family-friendly vacation rentals in Santa Croce, Florence

We had an absolute perfect stay in Salverio and Lorenzo's flat. It was incredibly spacious - very unusual to have a 3 bedroom/3 bath flat to rent in such a highly sought after part of Firenze. The decor was a perfect blend of antiques and art mixed with contemporary furnishings. Having a washer/dryer was a fantastic addition. Our favorite part of the flat was the rooftop terrace at sunset. You feel like you are on top of all of Firenze looking across the buildings. The duomo view was breathtaking. It was magical and truly stunning. The location could not be more suitable for proximity to all of the sights and indulge in luxury shopping. Salverio and Lorenzo were so helpful and accommodating. We will most assuredly be back! Thank you to you both!

If I could move in here permanently, I would. What a gorgeous stay with responsive and respectful hosts. Everything was as described, the hot tub was glorious, and we loved looking through the binder of photos of painstaking restoration over the years.

I had a wonderful time at the Airbnb in Florence! The location was perfect - just a bus ride from all the main sights, tucked away in a peaceful residential area. It was beautifully decorated, had so much history and all the amenities I needed. The host was very communicative, responsive and gave great recommendations that made my visit even better. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Florence!

We were welcomed by Edy, who was very kind at all times and even took the time to give us recommendations for restaurants near the Airbnb. We were also greeted with a bottle of wine, which we thought was an amazing touch. The place was very cozy and clean, 10/10. We had a great stay at Maurizio's place. He met us at the train station, which took the stress out of navigating it the first time walking with luggage. The apartment is beautiful, comfortable, and just as pictured and described. We would recommend it.

I cannot recommend Giovanni’s properties enough! His place is absolutely stunning, a million times better than the photos - and the photos are great! He provided a really helpful list of local recommendations long before we arrived, and kindly booked a Tuscan cooking class for us at a local restaurant (which was brilliant). Giovanni was extremely welcoming and provided us with a delicious selection of antipasti and a glass of wine each after a tour of the stunning grounds. Our property was very well equipped - with a fantastic coffee machine that deserves particular mention. It was spotless throughout and the beds were very comfortable. The highlight for us was the outdoor terrace, where we dined with stunning olive grove views - and the roof terrace, where we had a private hot tub with views to die for. I think the best reflection of how much we loved this place is that my husband and I both want to come back, and we never retrace our footsteps because there is so much world to see!

Donatella’s place was perfect for our family trip ( 7 ppl, couple + a family of 5 adults) . We split up into the 4 bedrooms, but having the option of the couches that converted to beds was appreciated a couple of times when someone’s snoring got too loud. :) The family room and kitchen were fun places to gather and compare the days notes and have a glass of wine (complimentary from the host). AC and WiFi were great. Location is perfect in our opinion - right in front of Pitti Palace and easy to find if you are not familiar with Florence. Anna and Erika were a great support for our questions and help with a few taxi bookings. Three rooms have a view of Pitti - you hardly find this anywhere. However, you will get some noise in the mornings as the city wakes up. I highly recommend this place and would stay here again without question.

All I can say is WOW. The most beautiful Airbnb I’ve ever stayed in. It really was a work of art. Federico was so kind and accommodating to checking in and checking out, as well as offering things to do in the area as well. The location was perfect and everything was within walking distance. Just perfect. Will be coming back for sure.

We stayed here in 2016 and it was even better than we remembered. A beautiful apartment, quiet and private, with amazing original features. The area is residential and round the corner is San Ambrogio food market. Lovely local restaurants all use fresh ingredients from the market. Wonderful evening in a street filled with locals enjoying food and drink. We could have spent the whole time exploring the locality.

We loved our stay with Antonio! The apartment is in a very beautiful central area of Florence, and yet is very peaceful. Antonio had thought of literally everything you could have needed; he was also so helpful in recommending places to eat. We will definitely be returning :)

Gianna was the best host we’ve ever encountered through airbnb!! She picked us up from the train station and gave us SO many helpful tips about the area! The place was even better than the pictures, and it had everything we needed and more. If you get the chance to stay here, do it!! Wish we stayed here longer.

Room with a wonderful view! The balcony in this Airbnb overlooks the rolling green hills of Tuscany and is simply amazing. We sat outside for hours and admired the view. The apartment is a quick walk from the Duomo and Mercato Centrale, which is quite convenient. Additionally, it is a quick walk to the tram, which helps with navigating the airport or the train station. Many good cafes and restaurants in area so you do not have to go far. Guila was very responsive to our questions and quite helpful to us in finding something very specific from the Tuscan region (Carrara marble mortar) which I am extremely grateful for! Thank you for being such an accommodating hostess! We truly appreciated your hospitality ❤️

A welcome respite from the chaotic historical area of Florence. However, it is approximately a 20 minute walk down into the historic area of Florence, but it a beautiful walk that we appreciated. You do briefly enter the Piazza Michelangelo on your way down. There are buses nearby by that will get you down to the city. All buses use a chip credit card payment so you can just use your own credit card. It has the typical small European washer and no dryer. The second level bedroom would only be suitable for children as the ceiling is very low. There is no streaming service available and the televisions are small. The WiFi service is spotty. With that in mind, it is recommended as it is a peaceful setting with a very nice yard. You will most likely enjoy it. An added bonus are the sounds of San Miniato’s bells.

Lola is such a great host with tons of local recommendations and very responsive. The location of this Airbnb is perfect, a quiet neighborhood that is walking distance to fun night life. Will stay again!

Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us. We had a lovely visit to your amazing surroundings. The pool and the pasta lesson were big highlights! Thank you for letting us play at the pool after check out. That was very helpful for our travel day with 3 year old Kensi.

We were 8 adults and 2 kids, and had more than enough space at Barbara's wonderful place. Rooms were spacious and clean and surroundings (rolling hills of Tuscany) were gorgeous. It was so peaceful, with the birds singing in the morning, chickens, a horse, an old Labrador--this place is idyllic. The place is remote so a car is ideal, but we got along okay with calling a cab to take us to Florence (30 min away). A couple of times the driver got lost and we had to ask for Barbara's help, but she was always quick to respond and troubleshoot. She also gave a great recommendation for a private chef. Don't hesitate to book this place, it is worth it. I wish we could have stayed longer. Hopefully we'll be back someday :)

We had an amazing week in the villa. Even if hou have other people living there, you feel so calm and free. There is a designated spot for each appartements to eat so you can enjoy good time outside. The site is so clean and we ser that the host take good care of everything. We had a lot of recommandations to discover te surroundings and the host was so easy to reach when we needed. All the commodities were there, the appartement is well equiped. I strongly suggest to rent a car, it’s the easiest way to enjoy your stay there. I surely recommand this place and I would go back again.

We had a wonderful time at Anna’s villa. The place is beautifully located within an easy walk to the tram station. The villa is absolutely stunning and full of history which Anna was more than happy to talk about. Anna is a wonderful host, always ready to share tips and recommendations. She made us feel right at home. We wouldn’t hesitate to come back at any time! :)

Die Unterkunft ist perfekt für erholsame Tage in der Toscana. Sehr ruhige Lage mit wundervoller Aussicht. Florenz ist in wenigen Autominuten erreichbar. Die Gastgeber waren sehr freundlich und stehts erreichbar bei Fragen. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Cristina is a lovely host and the place is beautiful. I’d highly recommend the breakfast that Cristina makes completely fresh!! The swimming pool is immaculate and the whole atmosphere of the place is just lovely. We spent 5 nights here with 2 children (17 and 13) and will definitely return if we ever stay in Tuscany again. Loved our stay at the Chapelle, but mostly loved Guido’s friendliness. He greeted us at arrival, explained us about the history of the Chapelle and the Villa. In our last day we had an inconvenience with our car in downtown Firenze, since we needed to file a police report and change our car, Guido offered us to leave everything with him so we can do all the paperwork and visits to police offices. We felt relieved and we appreciate this gesture grealty. The Chapelle is comfortable and a fun place to stay at!

We will definitely be back! The location is about 30-40 minutes from the main city in Florence. Federico recommended we rent a car but we didn’t want to drive in an area we were unfamiliar with. We were provided with the bus schedule which was very easy to take to the city. We planned ahead and bought some groceries in Florence before heading back to the property. We got lucky with getting taxis at the property to eat at a nearby restaurant (Ristorante San Martino) but it wasn’t as convenient as getting one in Florence (had to wait a bit). The place was just as described, very relaxing and just what we wanted! All in all a great experience. We were so sad to leave!
