Spacious and comfortable room with four-poster bed, private bath, air conditioning and windows to the street, located on the first floor of our B&B.
Located in a small hill, in the geographical center of the city, 8 kms away from Historical center, we have a priviledge overview of Havana, an incredible fresh breeze, even during the summer, and the ambience of a very quiet and typical cuban neighborhood.
  • Really one of the nicest places you may stay in Havanna. The room was so lovely and the house with his garden and pool is amazing. All persons who worked there were so nice and gentle. I can highly recommend this place and will shurely come back! Un lugar muy, muy lindo- la habitación preciosa y las personas muy amable. Voy a regresar seguramente! Un bijou! La chambre très, très belle, et aussi le jardin et la piscine. Les gens très gentils - j y vais retourner absolument et je peux recommender très haut!

  • Julia is quite possibly the sweetest person in the world with a solid team of Angels to guide your stay in Cuba! Extremely accommodating and multi-lingual (if you don't speak Spanish well, knowing people like Julia and Sachi who speak perfect English is a blessing)! This home is absolutely magical and in an awesome and authentic neighborhood - just a block away from a WiFi park! With fresh breakfasts and lunches cooked on a wood burning stove, stunning views, and gorgeous interiors- this home is simply magical, I will always stay here when visiting my new second home, Cuba! I cannot say enough great things about Julia, her lovely team, and her amazing home, it's the Beyonce of B&Bs in Cuba!!

  • Great customer service very attentive.

  • Beautiful home with a great garden. Far out of town but that creates a relaxing atmosphere. Taxis to and from citycentre are about 10 CUC.

  • Beautiful house and grounds (but a lot of stairs). Breakfast and lunch very good and worth the extra cost. Overall we had a relaxing 2 days chilling at the pool.

  • Wonderful in every way. La Rosa de Ortega is a very special place. Julia, Silvio and the rest of their team make you feel incredibly welcome. The property is very tasteful and a pleasure to return to after a busy day in Centro or Vieja. Thank you for everything. Your casa is the best.

  • The home is beautiful and the service is great. The pool is a great way to cool off after a hit day in the city .The staff servicing the home is very attentive and will look to accommodate any of your needs. I recommend having the brekafast for 5 Cuc. I also strongly recommend having the house arrange taxi transportation into the city. Be wary of taxis late at night as they may take advantage of you when giving change or if you do not pre-negotiate the price. Some taxis may have a hard time finding the house on the way back and may try to charge extra. Overall great stay.

  • Alex was extremely helpful and very easy about our arrival time. The flat was very comfortable and surprisingly quiet and spotlessly clean. It was a real treat to sit on the terrace for breakfast and in the evening for a drink. Our departure was so easy too, as he let us leave our bags until it was time to go to the airport. I highly recommend this place .

    Harriet2015-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • The place was lovely and very well situated--it was a quick walk from many great restaurants and shops. There was a little difficulty when we arrived, as the person Alex arranged to meet us was not there at the scheduled time. But we texted him and someone came right over and gave us the keys and all the information about the place. I would absolutely recommend the place and I hope to stay again when I come back to D.F.

    kathryn2015-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I stayed in Alex’s place for a week, and we had a terrific time. Alex was very welcoming and the place was as beautiful as in the photos online. The terrace is incredible, really made the stay magical. We had breakfast there many mornings and loved waking up in the sunshine and among the greenery. The neighborhood was very fun – young and hip people, lovely restaurants and great just to walk around in. It was also very well located for getting to other neighborhoods – we went to Coyoacán, Polanca, Centro Historico, Condesa and a few others, easily and quickly. It was a bit noisy at night, but we’re from NYC so it didn’t bother us too much. Overall we loved staying here, and would again when we have the chance to return to Mexico City. Highly recommend!

  • This place is absolutely stunning! I've never slept in such a lovely and unique apartement. The roof terrace is huge and you have a great view over mexico city. The house is very clean and the area safe - you feel at home quite quickly. I would move in immediately. Alex was a great host and the whole check in and check out was super uncomplicated. It's a reason to travel Mexico and highly recommended from my side.

  • Fantastic place on a rooftop with a very nice and scenic garden in the middle of the great Roma area full of excellent food options. Highly recommendable.

    Henrik2017-04-07T00:00:00Z
  • It was an excellent stay. Very clean, with a beautiful patio and view! I was unable to connect to the Wi-Fi unfortunately. My girlfriend was able to connect, but was a poor signal. Other than that minor thing, we very much enjoyed our stay there, and would definitely recommend to others. Thank you Alex!

    Bjorn2017-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Being able to sit out on the terrace after a long flight was great, there are many helpful restaurant tips and the area is great. Everything you need for a cool stay in Mexico City.

  • Everything was great! House was lovely. Ryan was very responsive and accommodating. Thank you!

    Annie2014-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • The actual space was slightly different than in the pictures, but for the better. Living room was a lot roomier than expected. I do suggest bringing some kitchen essentials such as aluminum foil, large trash bags, and dishwasher soap because there weren't any to be found.

    Derek2014-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • This is a very nice location. Very convenient to lake/ snow/ activities. This is my second time coming to this place and enjoyed it both times. The unfortunate part was to have had some issues both times we went with the place not being ready but Ryan was very quick to respond to our needs and made a great effort to make up for it which we appreciated very much. This will not prevent us from going again since the rest of our trip both times were great. Have not went during summer time but during winter it's just beautiful. Thank you again for letting us stay and make more memories.

  • Ryan and Darnie were fantastic hosts. They were very responsive and accommodating. Their home is gorgeous and right across from stunning views of beautiful snowy mountains. It was certainly the perfect place to call home-base during our trip up to South Lake Tahoe!

  • Awesome place to stay , esp when traveling with family and kids. They have a pretty sweet stack of books, games and movies.

  • Thank you R&D. Your house is an absolutely dream cabin! So beautiful! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Ryan & Darnie's Lake Tahoe Chalet is an inviting and warm home. It's the little touches like the space heaters in the rooms and the little soaps that really show they care. Thanks again for a wonderful place to stay in a wonderful place to vacation!

  • Mick and Patrick are great host who were very accommodating for our trip to Denver. Their place is beautiful and very close to everything you want to visit in downtown Denver. Highly recommend staying with them if you have the opportunity, couldn't ask for a better place to stay.

  • This place is a little oasis. I have stayed in many an Airbnb and this is right up there at the top of my list as all time favorites. Reasonably priced, great location, amazing host, and GORGEOUS property. Just book it, you won't be disappointed.

    Chad2017-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • Mick's space is cozy and inviting. He is kind enough to stock the carriage house with all the things you'll need or might forget. The neighborhood is historic and charming. We enjoyed looking at the older homes and the proximity to downtown Denver is perfect.

    John2016-04-14T00:00:00Z
  • Exactly as advertised. Mick made the entire process an effortless one. I would definitely recommend checking out this property if you get the chance.

    Kristina 2016-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Mick and Patric truly created the essence of "home away from home." Their space is beautiful and quaint, the perfect get-away for two. Thank you so much for your wonderful hospitality and opening your space up for us to celebrate my sisters birthday. It was a perfect gift and she enjoyed her stay very much. I am already planning my next few reservations for my parents (and hopefully myself, so I can enjoy this beautiful place as well). From every little attention to detail, to the hot tub, to the neighborhood - coming from a Colorado native - this is the perfect place to stay for anyone traveling from out of town to people who live in Denver! You can not get any better. Thank you for the wonderful experience!

    Megan2015-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Mick and Patrick have set the bar with their little oasis in Denver. The attention to detail in their renovation is incredible and the carriage house is beautiful. Most important though, it was comfortable and homey...right down to the snacks in the fridge and cabinet. Mick was easy to communicate with and responsive. Would definitely stay here again. Thanks, Mick & Patrick!

The Joshua Tree House is a two bed two bath 1949 hacienda located 10 minutes from the west entrance of Joshua Tree National Park in Joshua Tree, CA. This is a place for dreamers to reset, reflect, and create. Designed with a 'slow' pace in mind, our hope is that you enjoy every part of your stay; from making local coffee by drip in the morning, choosing the perfect record to put on as the sun sets, or by relaxing in the hot tub surrounded by over 100 Joshua Trees and a starry night sky.
Instagram: @thejoshuatreehouse #thejoshuatreehouse If you can't find the dates that you're looking for, please take a look at our other listing - The Joshua Tree Casita: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/10614974 Welcome to the Joshua Tree House! This hacienda was built in 1949. With over 100 Joshua Trees on the property, the views from the house are magical. If you're up for it, sunrise on the front porch is incredible. We estimate that some of the larger Joshua Trees on the property are as old as our country! This house is very close to downtown Joshua Tree with many shops and restaurants about a 10 minute walk from the house. This also means that some sound from the highway can be heard. If you're looking for a completely silent desert experience, we would recommend our other property: The Joshua Tree Casita (https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/10614974) *Mattresses and Bedding by Casper* There are two bedrooms and two bathrooms in the house, and works well for a group of friends, two couples, or small families. We can also set up an extra memory foam mattress in the hammock room (has privacy with pocket sliding doors) to accommodate groups of six.
Joshua Tree is a small community made up of musicians, artists, and explorers. In the village you will find locally owned and run restaurants, art galleries, music venues, and vintage shops. There are many wonderful places to visit during your stay at the house including the Joshua Tree National Park, Pappy & Harriet's, the Integratron, Salvation Mountain, the Salton Sea, Noah Purifoy Outdoor Museum, Crossroads, BKB Ceramics, and la Copine (a delicious new french restaurant in the desert).
  • Sara and Rich were very welcoming and provided additional info for our weekend getaway which was very cute and useful! We loved the Joshua Tree house and we plan to come back again and again!! We enjoyed using the hot tub and listening to records with good company. Thanks again!

    Brenda2016-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • Sara and Rich's place lives up to the hype it has rightfully earned in the design and desert community. Everything has been so carefully curated to create an authentic and enjoyable vacation. highly recommend.

  • This is seriously a magical house, in a magical place. This was our second time to Joshua tree and it has a special meaning in my heart, I had been following the Joshua tree house for a while and wanted to stay. It was truly amazing. Sara and Rich were quick to respond to any questions I had during our stay and were just fantastic. I literally couldn't have asked for anything more. Can't wait to come back or can't wait to stay at their other bnb's . Literally you need to stay here.

  • A special spot in Joshua Tree! Thank you for sharing your beautifully curated home with us!

    Morgan2017-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • My friends and I absolutely loved our time at this magical house. Very warm, relaxing and secluded--quite the desert experience. Everything was as described. The only thing I didn't love was that there were lots of flies and difficult to get them out, so maybe a better way to deal with that. And most of the little shops and restaurants were closed while we were there. Ultimately, it really was a treat to stay here.

    Nazhat2016-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • This is my second time staying in Joshua Tree, but first time at the Joshua Tree House, and let me tell you it sure won't be my last! Sara and Rich have done such a great job at making this magical space really feel like a home away from home. Every room is amazing. Just like they said, the sunrises are unreal from the front porch. Made sure to get up for those both morning! Can't give this place enough positive reviews, you'll just have to check it out for yourself.

And then it is very popular to drive the road skirting the beautiful western shore of the Eyjafjordur Fjord, visit the magnificent waterfalls, Goðafoss and Dettifoss, Dimmuborgir, Mývatn, the Grand Canyon of Jökulsárgljúfur and whale watching in Húsavík. It is also possible to take an organized day trip from Akureyri to the island of Grimsey, which straddles the Arctic Circle. It is easy to get to Akureyri! Icelandair is offering flights to Akureyri. So it is as well just a 45 Min. flight from Reykjavik downtown to Akureyri. It is only a 7km drive from the airport to our house. If you are driving, Akureyri is on the ringroad and is a approx. 5 to 6 hours drive from Reykjavik. To stay in vaðlaheiði you need a car. The property offers a quiet position and a great view. It is a easy access to the center of Akureyri and the beautiful places in its surroundings.
  • This place is accurate to what the the photos show. The view is gorgeous. It did take us a while to figure out how to find the location (we were a bit tired from driving all day), but the hosts were especially accommodating with directions! Some have mentioned the issues of the stairwell, but the infrastructure is relatively sound, even with a few creaks here and there. The apartment is just right out of the downtown Akureyri so it's quick to eat downtown. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to experience the location!

    Monica2017-03-24T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I stayed here for two nights. It's a very unique and modern apartment with a superb view of Akureyri. There are lots of windows and it is spacious. Inga is a great host who responded quickly to all of my questions. I highly recommend it.

  • Beautiful apt!

    Antonio2017-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • Inga gave me the direction to the house which was very helpful. The view towards the city of Akureyri is fantastic in the night.

    Runda2015-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • The place is amazing and just as pictured. The location and view really can't be beat. We were unable to communicate with Inga before our trip, which made check-in very difficult. There was some confusion with our booking and with the rental next door, which was frustrating. Other reviews have good instructions on how to find the place. Doors are fairly tricky to unlock.

  • It was amazing from check in to checkout. The photos don't do the house justice, its spectacular. We rented the villa for 6 nights for our close family and friends to celebrate our wedding. We couldn't fault anything about it, the views, the food, the pool and the staff, especially Mem were amazing!

    Kevin2016-11-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is one of the greatest experiences I have ever had The place was amazing the photos don't do it enough justice. We couldn't have ask for better customer service from the bookings manager Nils to the regular staff like Toh and Moon they we fantastic. I would recommend this place a million times over and I'm already planning on returning with my large family. We had a party of 19 people and the staff accommodated for everyone's needs without a problem. The food was fantastic. I don't think I actually have any negative points about this place. If you are thinking of a place to stay within the Choeng Thale area look no further this is the villa to stay in

  • A group of 9 English 55 ish year olds stayed at Villa Amonteera from 23rd-26th October to get over our flight from London and acclimatise before the rest of our holiday in Thailand. The minibus was there to meet us at Phuket airport as arranged. The villa managers Jennifer and Mam could not have made us more welcome. The villa was even more beautiful than the photos on Airbnb. It was clean and the staff made us feel very welcome without always being around us. I fixed the menus with Mam and the chef on arrival, and the food was fantastic and plentiful. Within half an hour of asking, we had 5 masseurs arrive at the spa area in the villa to give us massages. We also had a great Thai cooking lesson with the villa chef. The driver took us to Patong for an excursion, and to a private beach the following day. We had a fabulous 3 day stay, thank you so much! Can we come again!?!

    Wendy2016-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • My family of 12 spent 3 nights at Villa Aminteera. It was overall a pleasant stay. All the rooms are nicely decorated with good amenties. The air con for one of the rooms was down and could not be fixed during our stay. Luckily, there were extra rooms to move to. The dining area next to the pool is luxurious and yet cozy. The great service from the staff is the highlight of the stay. Yu and her staff were very professional, attentive and swift in fulfilling our needs. Five star service I would say. We had several of our meals in the villa. I would recommend the BBQ dinner and the delicious Thai food. As for beverage, I find the bon cafe coffee beans provided to be over roasted and too acidic. An overhyped for owner to claim "taking great pride in our special coffee beans". Facilities such as gym, pool table and cinema were great. The selection of movies for the cinema was however quite limited. The stairs in the villa are quite high. Makes it a little difficult for young children and old folks. We were quite disappointed that the industrial kitchen is not accessible by villa guests and we could not use the laundry service on our own.

  • We had a wonderful time in villa. We went there as birthday trip for my husband with family and friend family including small baby and infant. Everything was great! Mem and Thai, also every staff was friendly and nice. Dinner was good and plenty, BBQ was good, too. About breakfast, I prefer asian dish than western. If I advice coming next guest about stay, sometimes using (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) translate service English to Thai language. Thank you very much and we will be back in the near future!

  • Luxurious, 5-star villa experience. We booked this for a work retreat and couldn't have been more pleased. The staff was particularly friendly and made this a wonderful stay. Can't wait to come back!

  • The service, view and facilities are fantastic. 7 families live in the villa that is also spacious. Driver, chef and villa manager gave me lots of suggestions on local tour.

  • This was a wonderful experience to stay in a room in a cave. The room is lovely, well furnished clean and spacious. Very close to a great little town called Amboise where there are many restaurants and shops. Alexis & Lotte are very welcoming and gave us great advise on where to eat. The breakfast was perfect and a wonderful surprise. We would definitely stay again and have recommended to others to stay there.

  • Stay here! Alexis and Lotte are the most kind, beautiful, friendly people. They were fantastic. The apartment is beautiful. The breakfast was perfect. You have not slept until you have slept in a cave. The bed was comfortable, the bath tub was so relaxing. They truly were great people. Our only regret is that we didn't stay longer. The location is great. It is very central to the Loir so you can see chateaus in the east one day and in the west another day. The proximity to amboise was also convenient for food, groceries, etc. When we come back we will stay with them again. Book it!

  • We stayed at Alex and Lotte's for 3 nights for our honeymoon. I absolutely adored the hosts and the room. Alex and Lotte were welcoming, warm and approachable. You can tell how much they love the region and how proud they are of what they've created. The room is charming, with a luxurious stand alone bath. There is great attention to detail and love poured into this space and it really shows. The breakfast is plentiful and delicious and we got fresh towels everyday. Alex and Lotte's suggestions were appreciated and spot on. Overall, it was a very memorable experience and I would not hesitate in recc this to anyone exploring the Loire Valley.

  • We've had an unique troglodite expérience. Lovely hosts. The baignoire is magnificent. Delicious breakfast. Easy parking. The house is only a few minutes from the charming Chenanceau.

  • We absolutely loved our stay in the 'CAVE' - the room was fantastic and Alexis and Lotte are amazing hosts. Lotte welcomed us on arrival and showed us to our room, advised a few things we should do while staying in Amboise and recommended a few nice restaurants. Alexis prepared our breakfast each morning which was just delicious - beautifully decorated - the best we have had in France! There are many Chateau's within the area to visit as well De Vinci's burial place and home - all in Amboise. We would highly recommend staying with Alexis and Lotte as they are fantastic hosts and their place is simply amazing - a young couple following their dreams which is very inspiring.

  • We are repeat visitors of the pond house, we love it so much! It's truly magical.

  • Gayle and Peter and Charlie and Jack (dogs) were amazing host. Their Pond house was something out of fabled story. Very relaxing and a nice getaway from my girlfriend and I regular pace of living. Gayle was very accommodating in letting us know all what all was around in the area from great food to water activities. I would recommend this stay to anyone who wants a break from their lives, time to disconnect. Will definitely have a future stay here.

    Michael2016-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • The Pond house is all that it's cracked up to be and more-- it is so so lovely, as other people have said, it's even more beautiful than the photos. the beds are so comfy and cozy and the views from every seat in the house are spectacular. Gayle and Peter and Charlie are wonderful hosts-- invisible except when you want them and then magically they are right there. The recommendations for meals were perfect and Gail even got us a spot at the super wonderful Elmers for breakfast on father's day! We sat and watched the birds come and go from the pond as the light faded -- truly a wonderful escape but plenty of shopping and fun nearby. Thanks so much Gayle and Peter and Charlie for the care and love that has gone into the pond house.

  • What a wonderful, special place! Exactly as shown in the pictures, perhaps even better! We had lots of plans to explore Ashfield during our stay. However, we were so relaxed by our surroundings at the Pondhouse, that we ended up spending almost all of our time there. Great fire pit, with plenty of wood and paper. Cozy and warm in bed at night. Gayle, Peter, and Charlie (the dog) were friendly and accomodating hosts, that were there if you needed anything, and otherwise gave us complete privacy. Would definitely love to re-visit!

    Emily2015-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Gayle’s magical pond home far exceeded my expectations for the weekend. Peter’s craftsmanship is evident in every detail of their property from the welcome sign at the front gate to the complete layout of the pond home. I felt safe and cozy whilst being completely immersed in nature, including the sun waking me in the morning and the moon reflecting shadows from the trees at night. Gayle was very kind to connect with me and insured I had everything I needed during my stay. I was inspired to explore, relax and to write during my trip which is exactly what I was hoping for. The first night was definitely much cooler than the second but Gayle provided me with hot water bottles and more than enough bedding to stay warm. I was very excited to build a campfire and the grill/fire-pit was ready to go with firewood and kindling. I especially enjoyed Charlie and his curious nature.

    Courtney2017-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • The Pondhouse was my girlfriend and I's first experience using Airbnb, and it went above and beyond what we imagined! We were looking for someplace unique and memorable to spend our anniversary, and Gayle was quick to respond and was wonderfully accommodating. Just as the name suggests, the Pondhouse truly felt like a country escape. Coming up the driveway of the property, we were greeted by Charlie (the friendliest dog... ever!), and Gayle gave us a tour of the Pondhouse and the rest of the property. Luckily we packed some food to bring with us, because once we got there we didn't want to leave! The Pondhouse itself was even more stunning in person than it was in the pictures, and it felt nice and secluded so you really got the sense that you had your own space to enjoy in privacy. We got a fire going with the wood that was provided, where we grilled some food as the sun went down. The Pondhouse was stocked with all of the essentials that you would need for the night, and all of the furniture was super comfortable! We couldn't believe how relaxing the Pondhouse was, we felt like we were in another world. As sad as we were to have to leave, we were already planning when we would make it back! It was the perfect couple's getaway for a romantic retreat, but it could also be a great place to stay with others who share a passion for nature and camping, but would like to do it in a unique way! It feels like we haven't been able to stop talking about it since we came back, so we'll certainly have to make a trip back sometime in the near future! The Pondhouse is a place that we'll never forget, and it was the perfect place that made our anniversary even more of a day to remember. We highly recommend visiting the Pondhouse, its the kind of place that makes Airbnb such a great resource, to find hidden gems like this!

  • Gayle is a very considerate host. Communication between us started before the trip, and it was straightforward and easy. When my family and I arrived, a big storm was looming and Gayle showed us the best spot to park, how to get around, and provided additional light and umbrella, etc. The pond house is truly unique and beautiful, located in a bucolic area called Apple Valley. And don't let weather block your trip either. It has no lack of beauty (and stays dry) even in a stormy day like we had. And it is Fun, too, to listen to the thunderstorm, watch lightening, and animals murmuring at night... Also, special thanks to Gayle for accommodating my non-English speaking family. They truly enjoyed the stay (just in case you don't speak Mandarin :).

With a geodesic dome loft & a large deck in the trees, you'll feel like you're in a tree house in the woods. We are in a quiet yet convenient location. Shaded by Oak and Madrone trees and next to a Redwood grove, you can enjoy the outdoors from the deck. In the summer, it is cool and in the winter you might get to hear the creek running below.
We have 10 acres next to land without fences so you will get to enjoy nature: just hang out on the deck, take a hike in the woods, watch the hummingbirds, pet the goats, go to the beach or gaze at the stars - as long as the moon isn't full. ; ) During the summer, if there isn't any nightly fog, we can see the Milky Way here. To check our availability, click on the "Request to Book" link. And yes, if it isn't available, it is already booked! If you want to stay here on a weekend during the summer, you will need to make your reservation request about 9 months in advance. We do, however, occasionally get a cancellation, so if you want a date that's already booked, you can let us know and we will notify you of a cancellation. (Please read all of this description before making a reservation request.) The cozy and clean semi-rustic cabin has a loft under a geodesic dome (the "mushroom cap"). In the loft is a Queen-sized super popular Casper Mattress which allows for very comfortable sleeping and just hanging out, We provide clean sheets and pillow cases. Plenty of blankets are also provided. The other "bed" is a couch that we can make up into a bed. If there are going to be 2 of you, but you want separate beds, please make the reservation for 3 or let me know ahead of time - there is a $10. charge for using it as a bed. In the loft, we have a 32" HD Flat Screen and a DVD player (no TV) for movies. (We have over 80 movies you can view as well.) On the main floor (a Pentagon) is the couch and a pull-out table. We provide a small refrigerator, a blender, Hot Air Popcorn Popper, French Coffee Press, a salad spinner and dishes. Yes, we have a wine opener. We have 2 tables where you can enjoy meals, games, etc.: 1 inside and 1 outside on the large deck that faces the redwoods. We also have a barbecue grill on the deck with an extra gas burner on the side. We provide Organic Coffee, teas, Oatmeal, popcorn, butter, honey, sugar, nutritional yeast (for the popcorn!) spices, oil and vinegar and various snacks. Our well water is treated by an ozonator, a UV light and a soft water filter. If you have a baby and you won't be needing the second bed, make your reservation for 2 and let us know if you will need a small pad for the loft. Again, if there are 2 of you but you want to use the second bed, please make your reservation for 3. The cute bathroom has a Travertine shower, custom tiled sink and a Natures Head self-contained composting toilet. Some guests have had a problem with our bathroom, so I want to make it clear that we have a curtain for the door to the bathroom and we require that you put your used toilet paper in the trash. (it won't smell) If you follow the instructions for how to use the toilet, it won't have any odor. If the thought of using a composting toilet grosses you out, then don't make a reservation here. ; ) We provide towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner, a hair blow-dryer, etc. (a word of caution: the bathroom has a low ceiling. If you are over 6' you may have to do a little ducking here and there.) As Saturdays are very much in demand, (and we like to be free on Saturdays), we require a minimum 2 day stay on the weekends. Keep in mind that Friday and Saturday nights are $145. each. Therefore, to stay here on a weekend will cost $290. plus the $35. cleaning fee, the $40 airbnb fee and the 11% Santa Cruz County Transient Tax of about $35. So for the weekend, it will be a total of about $444. To stay for 1 day mid-week costs a grand total of about $200. On 3 day holidays, we require a 3 day reservation. (This includes Presidents Day, Memorial Day, M.L.King day, and Labor Day.) But to stay here on a weekend, you will usually have to book the cabin 6 - 8 months in advance - unless you are lucky to find a cancellation! Check-in time is between 4 and 10pm. If you want to come sooner or later, this can sometimes be arranged. Check-out time is noon. As we have experienced some damage from guests, we are now requiring a $100. security deposit. Although it feels very isolated here, we are less than 10 minutes to Aptos Village where you will find stores, restaurants, a health food store, Safeway, etc. We are centrally located on the Monterey Bay: 10 minutes from the beach (Rio Del Mar and Seacliff State Beach) as well as the 10,000 acre Nisene Marks State Park for miles of hiking or dirt biking in the Redwoods and along Aptos creek. We are 20 minutes to downtown Santa Cruz, 25 min. to the Beach Boardwalk, 45 minutes to Monterey and the world-famous Monterey Bay Aquarium, 50 min. to Carmel and 1 1/2 hours to Big Sur going south and San Francisco to the North. Yup, we are located in one of the most beautiful areas of California. (these times are not during rush hour(s) ; ) If you love hummingbirds, bring your camera. Our garden is the year-round home to many Anna Hummingbirds. (We usually have about 250-500 year-round) During the summer, we are also called home by many Rufus and Allen Hummers as well. So you have got to see our "Hummingbird Airport" where we feed them about 120 oz. of syrup on a summer day! Please, no smoking in the cabin or on the property. We used to let smokers stay here, but they stink up the cabin and it is a fire hazard outside. Some cell phones don't work here, but since we have free wifi in the cabin, if your phone works with a wifi network, you are good to call. You can sometimes get Verizon service on the swinging seat by the driveway. To learn about things to do in the area, do an internet search for Santa Cruz, CA. Dogs are welcome to stay here but with a few requirements: since we have so many animals, we require that your dogs be kept on a leash when outside (the goats get very nervous with large loose dogs). Also, we don't allow dogs in the loft or on the couch downstairs so please bring a doggie bed. (your doggie can go on the couch if you bring a cover for it) If that is difficult, let us know and we will provide a doggie pillow. We have a gate that we can set up so your dog can be off the leash on the deck. If you are bringing a small child, we can put a folding futon (2/3rds of the futon or a foam pad next to the bed ) Just let us know ahead of time. Keep in mind, though, that a child should not be left in the loft by themselves as the bed is fairly high up against the rail. As we are about 3 miles to the nearest bus stop, it is pretty difficult to stay here without a car. You are invited, if you feel you would be harmonious here. Pet the goats, check out our chickens, cats, miniature dog and enjoy the very fresh air. I might even teach you how to milk a goat. If you come here when there is no moonlight and the sky is clear, you will see lots of stars. Tired of the heat in the summer? Since we are on the edge of the "fog belt", it can be both sunny and cool here. If you want a noisy place, you won't like it here: most of the sound here comes from the birds or crickets chirping, the tree frogs croaking and the breeze blowing through the trees. People do live on the land here though, so don't expect it to be totally devoid of human sounds and the occasional chain saw. : ) (We feed the goats oak branches)
Even though we live only a 8 minute drive to Aptos village and the beaches, it feels very remote and private here. It is usually very quiet at night - sometimes we can hear the ocean waves crashing on the beach. There is lots of land to hike on and explore here as well.
  • The Mushroom Dome is as awesome as it looks. It's secluded enough for privacy but close enough to Kitty's home to enjoy her amazing property, which features goats, hummingbirds, chickens, cats, dogs, hummingbirds, a garden, and much more. Kitty is full of energy, knowledge, and warmth, and getting to know her was a blast. Grilling on our final night was a memorable experience. Overall, I couldn't recommend the Dome any higher! You must see it for yourself.

  • Our second time back to the mushroom dome, and it was just as wonderful as the first. Tranquility, peace, and beauty - What a perfect honeymoon!

  • My son (8 yrs. old) and I had an amazing time! I highly recommend this place to everyone! The place was clean, safe and quite. Kitty was a wonderful host, she welcomed us like family. I'm truly blessed to have had this wonderful experience with my son. His already planning to come back!

    Marianne2014-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • We only stayed one night, but we thoroughly enjoyed the mushroom dome cabin. The morning was very peaceful and Kitty was a gracious host. I also enjoyed snapping photos of the many hummingbirds that visit Kitty and Michael's feeders. We bought food on the way in at a store recommended by Kitty and stopped for amazing coffee and tea at Norma Jean's Coffee on the way out of town.

    Colleen2014-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Kitty was an amazing host! She showed us where to hike, brought us fresh goat milk, and we had a really great time just chatting and hearing about the history of the mushroom dome. The dome itself was adorable and cozy. There was enough room for the three of us and everything worked great.

    Kat2015-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was great! Kitty and Michael have a very peaceful place out there and the hummingbirds were awesome. Thank you for having us and thank you for telling us about the whale watching in Monterey! We saw some whales and hundreds of dolphins :)

    Katrin 2015-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • I really can't say anything here that hasn't been said before. This is a super cute, isolated little dome. We loved that we could be secluded and still have hot water, electricity for our computers, items to cook with etc. The hummingbirds were my favorite part. There are just so many of them, and they are beautiful. Thanks Kitty for a great stay! Mike and Danielle

    Danielle2011-05-23T00:00:00Z
  • The mushroom dome is adorable, wonderful, cute, charming, and peaceful. It was exactly what we needed for a great weekend getaway. Although the dome is small, it feels very spacious and very, very comfortable. Kitty is a wonderful host. It is no surprise that she's got a "super host" cape. She made us feel very welcome, showed us around the place and had great hospitality. I've told all my friends to spend a weekend at the Mushroom Dome because it was so wonderful.

  • This place was AMAZING!!! So incredibly beautiful and well designed. The attention to detail and overall aesthetic was impeccable. Ron and Karen were sweethearts and really made sure we were comfortable. It was nice to have so many things provided. (Snorkels, mask, beach chairs/towels, flippers, etc. ) Wish we could have stayed here forever!

    Dallas2016-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • This place is magical. I doubt that there's any other place like it on the island. It's an open air hut with carved Balinese wood wall panels. Surfboards and tiki torches decorate the indoor/outdoor space. Two of the best parts are the outdoor shower (very private) and outdoor kitchen (gas stove!), which was a great place to cook. It's also less than a five minute walk to the Kealakekua Bay -- a great snorkeling/sun bathing/swimming spot. We heard the waves crashing as we went to sleep, which was lovely. Across the bay is the Captain Cook Monument, which is reputed to be the best snorkeling at the island. Two things to note that may be deal-breakers for some: The bed is full-sized and not that comfortable. Also, this is not a good place for people afraid of insects/arachnids or geckos. Remember, it's an open-air space, so outdoor creatures occasionally made their way inside. That said, if these don't bother you too much, this is probably the most enchanting place I've ever stayed. I really, really want to go back next year.

    Erin2013-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • A fun place to hang out for a relaxing week. Balinese style with laid back island sensibilities. The location can't be beat - so close to the beach! Ron and Karen were helpful and friendly. And I even enjoyed the geckos.

  • We had a great stay in this fantastic bali-cottage. I can highly recommend it to everyone who wants to have an extraordinary stay. Karen and Ron helped us with everything and were always reachable. And the bay where the cottage is situated is beautiful and not overloaded with tourists.

  • A perfect location. We loved the beauty and relaxation and the Bali house was very comfortable. Short walk (minutes) to a very private beach and great snorkeling. Wonderful sunsets each night and on one night a whale crossed the setting sun as the sun touched the water. Karen and Ron thanks for your hospitality and area tips. Enjoyed meeting your friendly neighbors. Checking the calendar for our next visit.

  • Where to start? Our stay in the tree house was everything we dreamed of and more. There was one thing I was concerned about before coming and it was the spiders and bugs. Being arachnophobic I can tell you I was a little nervous. The spiders were not too bad and barely moved. Only one really bothered me - blocking my way to the shower - but I was quickly saved by a small gecko who hungrily snatched him up. The Mosquitos weren't too bad, just make sure you wear some repellant. The house itself was great. Very roomy and comfortable. The bed was a little small but very comfortable and we were thankful for the mosquito netting and night side fans. The yard and garden were spectacular and we spent a lot of time just enjoying the deck. My fiancée really enjoyed the gas stove and everything we needed was there in he kitchen for us. The shower was AMAZING and shower in complete privacy with the sun shining down on you through the trees was truly magical. The toilet was private and clean as well (no one had previously commented on this and I was curious). You are just over a minute walk to a beautiful beach park with amazing snorkelling and lots if room. It was never very busy. Karen and Ron were great as well. They were the perfect balance of friendly and knowledgeable and giving us our privacy It was great sharing a beer and glass if wine with them a time or two. We believe this place attracts a certain persons - it was what actually convinced us to go to Kona. Kona is our favourite place of all the islands, very laid back and old Hawaiian traditions. If you're a princess - this is not your place. It's open to the elements and is more like very luxurious camping. Karen and Ron thank you for a very memorable trip and we will be back as soon as we can!

  • To be honest, I wasn’t pleased with our stay at the Bali Cottage. We booked in July when we got a great deal on a flight, and I didn’t see any reviews about the noise or mosquitoes. The photos must be dated because the yard is unkempt, and the cottage has spots of gecko poop on the lamps and such. There are large spiders hanging above the shower, and the mat you stand on while showering has holes in it that hurt your feet. At night, the creakiness of the tree that goes through the cottage is very loud even with earplugs in. There are little vases with flowers in them, but there are clearly mosquito eggs/larvae in them. Also there is a pond with standing water that I’m sure aids in the production of the tiny mosquitoes. This was a particular pain for me since I am allergic to mosquito bites. Despite using bugspray with DEET, I got several bites. The net around the bed helps keep the mosquitoes away, but I still managed to get bites from something on my torso. They definitely weren’t mosquito bites since I didn’t get the usual allergic reaction to them. The bay is quite nice, but there is no sandy beach nearby. It is a great spot to watch the sunset. We were not warned of a monthly tsunami alarm test, so when it went off on December 2 we panicked. After googling the alarm, we found that it was a test, but also found out that this area was washed out by the 2011 tsunami. In fact, this area was the hardest hit in Hawaii with 7 homes lost. The hosts were kind and gracious, but very absent, which I’m sure is fine for most people. Overall, I wouldn’t stay here again and neither would my fiancé.

  • This was the most unique and special place that my wife and I have ever stayed. The cottage is constructed from beautiful teak wood from Bali, and must truly be seen to be appreciated. The kitchen and bathroom are outdoors at the front and back of the cottage, and the exterior walls are partially open, so you really feel like you are living in the beautiful naturalist surroundings. We had to wear some bug spray and use the mosquito net at the bed to keep the bugs away, but it was well worth it to stay in such a beautiful place. The location is great, as the cottage is extremely close to a beach and kayak rental/dock area. Finally, Karen was a wonderful host, and was very accommdating and helpful.

Come and stay in your very own 'mini-castle'! Log burner in a cosy sitting room and a bedroom located above the arch, accessible via a romantic stone spiral staircase; Ayton with its pub and village shop just a moment's walk away, the Gatehouse is a retreat like no other. * For additional guest reviews dating from the beginning of June, please click on 'The Host' and then 'Reviews'!
Less than four miles from a dramatic coastline which also boasts unspoilt sandy beaches, the gatehouse to Ayton Castle enjoys an ideal location. Decidedly smaller than its grander 'relation' further up the drive, it combines the comfort of a cosy cottage with the beauty of a castle! The Gatehouse is built out of the same pink sandstone as Ayton Castle (in the archetypal Scots baronial style) and commands a prime position at the entrance to the castle's extensive grounds. There is ample parking space, and guests also have their own private (and enclosed) garden, as well as access to parts of the estate. Sleeping just two, the interior consists of a sitting room with log burner, a small but well-equipped kitchen, a bathroom and bedroom. For those who are in pursuit of a little magic, access to the bedroom via a fairy tale spiral staircase should more than compensate for the bathroom being on the ground floor! Recently restored, the Gatehouse is an unusual delight.
  • Diana was a wonderful host and made sure that all our needs were met. We were greeted by a very generous welcome pack which was a lovely surprise. The accommodation is very well equipped including the kitchen which provides all the utensils you could need. The wood burning stove was lovely and warmed up the house no end. I would definitely recommend the gatehouse to anyone - it's a great find!

  • Diana made us feel very welcome and at home, we had a lovely welcome basket including fresh eggs from the castle hens, freshly picked flowers throughout which I thought was a lovely touch. Beautiful place to stay, very convient to get out and about with the A1 just a few minuets away absolutely gorgeous scenery just what we needed. we spent a long weekend there but definitely needed more time to see everything we wanted to during our visit. we will be back! • A wonderful stay in a beautiful location. A perfect, peaceful, tranquil oasis away from it all, while still being close to big cities, small towns & villages and the coast. Diana was a charming and thougtful host, leaving us all the essentials and fresh flowers to boot! You can see the pride and enthusiasm she has for the place (or Hagrids House as we call it) which is totally justified. The Gatehouse is perfectly equipped and the log burning stove is a real treat - we put it on even though its June! It was lovely to return to such a cosy home after a stroll through Aytons beautiful grounds, listening to the owls and peacocks. Just look out for the little critters on the lawn ☺(bunnies!) Theres lots of recommendations & guide books provided and a great beer keller just up the road - opposite the well stocked shop. Thank you so much Diana - we'll be back!

  • Staying here was wonderful, a one of a kind gem! Diana is very kind and had lots of really great recommendations for things to see and do. It's a beautiful place to relax if that's what you're looking for, and is also a great launching point for lots of adventures.

  • A magical and romantic experience staying in The Gatehouse. The ambiance of the home and its beautiful garden was so cosy and relaxing. The house is beautifully equipped and the personal touches Diana adds make such a difference. She made us feel like honored guests! We loved strolling the grounds of the castle and were captivated by the wonderful old trees and the birdlife. We thoroughly enjoyed our walk along the coastal path from Eyemouth to St Abbs and were fortunate to have beautiful sunny weather. Truly a memorable stay - highly recommended, particularly because Diana was such an awesome host.

  • We had a fantastic stay at the Gatehouse for the week, and enjoyed amazing sunny weather! From the moment we arrived we were completely at ease and the little welcome touches were much appreciated after our journey. Our whippet certainly enjoyed the garden and walks into the grounds, we were able to then explore the dog friendly beaches at Coldingham Bay, Eyemouth and slightly further afield (but hugely worth it) at Bamburgh. To then come back after a busy day exploring to our own little castle was great! There are some fantastic houses/castles to look around in the surrounding area made even better by the scenic drives to reach them. Thank you Diana for being such a great host, especially with your communication before we even got to the house. Best wishes, Andrew, Camilla & Beauty (the whippet!)

    Camilla2017-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely and special place to stay. Diana is a fantastic host and very helpful. Plus all the little extra touches like a welcome hamper and fresh flowers make all the difference. We loved the location for our trips up and down the coast with so much to see and do we will surely be back.

    Mike2017-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • Diana was a fabulous host and very kind, she popped over to say hello when we arrived to show us around, there was a little welcome basket with fresh castle eggs, bread, jam, biscuits plus milk and butter in the fridge which was thoughtful. There were also robes on the bed and selection of soaps in the bathroom and most importantly a hairdryer which was awesome as I couldn't fit mine on the motorbike ha! We had a brilliant stay and the photographs don't do it justice, the Gatehouse is an absolute find! Thank you Diana

    Peaceful life in nature
A Big yurt of 50 m2 in the massif of Wallows in Savoy. Calm down in the middle of nowhere. The view (sight) is 360 ° on baujus mountains (Massif of Bauges). A lot of activities are nearby as trek, mountain bike, climbing and ski. In 30 mn, the lakes of Aix les Bains and Annecy. I know the region perfectly and could advise to you. I let some maps there. The yurt is a circular, good housing environment to get fresh ideas or meditate. A big wood stove warms the atmosphere. It is thus accessible summer and winter alike. In case of snowfall, it will be necessary to finish on foot, in rackets(snowshoes) or in skis according to your tastes. The last part of the way is cleared the snow. In the winter, you will find there a sled and two pairs of snowshoes for hiking. Of information about the area is available with a map of the area at 1/25000 th. Close to the yurt, is a small wooden chalet equipped for dry toilets and a shower to isolate. The wood is at will. The massif of Bauges is a very protected place, with the presence of lynx and many chamoises. The local products are delicious cheeses. Hope to see you soon!
  • We had a great time at the yurt. We never ended up meeting Jean Luc, but his daughter showed us round and all worked out nicely. The place was very comfortable and quiet up in the hills. Wasn't as secluded as we may have expected, you can see the neighbouring farm house down the road. However the neighbours keep to themselves so it's not a problem

  • The yurt is located in a perfect natural surrounding. Great for outdoor lovers! I enjoyed my stay here very much. But I should have brought my own sleeping bag to feel really comfortable at night. Overall it was a great experience. Thank you Jean Luc!

  • Very welcoming indeed, Jean Luc was expecting us and we just had to arrive into Broisseux for him to meet us on the main road which comes into the village. Overall a very positive experience. I would recommend this to others.

  • One of the best experiences of my life! Quiet, peaceful escape from modernity into the secluded French woods. Perfection. Jean Luc was beyond accommodating and kind-- he truly went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and to make the yurt accommodating. If you are looking for something different, somewhere to rest and recharge, read or write, hike or meditate...I can not recommend this enough. I have no doubt I will visit again, someday.

  • An absolutely incredible few days in the yurt. The yurt has everything you need and is such a beautiful space to spend time in. Even though it was mid december and there was snow on the ground, the yurt's fire place was very effective and we stayed very warm and cosy. It is such a peaceful and tranquil place with an excellent view across the valley, surrounded by mountains. Jean Luc was an exceptional host and helped us out wiyh everything we needed, including transport in the area. An unofrgettable stay!!

  • I was looking for somewhere to have a relaxing time for a few days with my husband. The beautiful pictures on AB&B attracted me but I knew nothing of Lecce. It proved to be the best choice! The apartment really is beautiful! It is very much in the Salento/Lecce style with a comfortable bed and adequate bathing and cooking facilities under the most beautiful Lecce stone ceiling! It is a short walk to everything you would want to see in the historic centre of Lecce with good restaurants serving the local Puglia cuisine and Salento wine very close by. The hospitality was amazing! We chose to be picked up from Brindisi Airport by the service offered. We were in Lecce within 25 mins of landing, shown the apartment, followed by a short walk to become familiar with the surroundings! We have to thank Marco for his great care and attention to make sure we were comfortable and happy. It really was a great way to discover Lecce and the beautiful coast of Puglia. October was perfect timing! Thank you.

  • Elegant and convenient apartment just a few minutes' walk from the centre of the old town. If you want to explore Lecce, and the region, this makes an excellent base for your trip. Very helpful and welcoming host. Would thoroughly recommend staying here.

  • Gianluca's apartment is everything we hoped for and more. It's location is perfect just in the old town so you can walk everywhere. The apartment is amazing everything that you need and feels like home. Gianluca is an absolute legend, he met us at the bus station and took us to the apartment and showed us everything and gave us advice about Lecce. He then went above and beyond when I realised I had left my camera bag on the bus and tracked it down for me, picked it up and returned it back to the apartment. He also drove us back to the airport when we left as the buses were either to early or to late. A beautiful apartment in a beautiful place.

    Michael2017-05-13T00:00:00Z
  • Gianluca and Ivana clearly love their property and have spent a lot of time on it. The result is a really beautiful and stylish home with modern details and a good sense of what a traditional Lecce house is like. The place was spotlessly clean and there is absolutely everything you need there. It is very near to the old town but on a quiet back road so very peaceful too - and the thick stone walls mean you are guaranteed a very good night's sleep. I also can't thank Gianluca enough for recommending a restaurant just round the corner called Le Zie, where I ate two of the best meals I have ever eaten in Italy. Thanks Gianluca and Ivana for a great couple of days. We look forward to coming back again.

    Holly2016-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had an absolutely amazing stay in Lecce!! The apartment is beautiful, clean and comfortable. All the amenities you could need are provided and Marco (Gianluca's co-host) was simply incredible. He met us upon our arrival and took the time to walk us around the city pointing out important sites to see and recommending places to eat and things to do. We have never had an Airbnb host that was so willing to share their time and knowledge. We appreciated that gesture immensely!! The apartment is literally 2 minutes walk to the very center of Lecce and could not be more perfect. We really fell in love with Lecce - it has so much to offer, the city is small enough to comfortably walk everywhere and the people are warm and wonderful!! We will absolutely recommend this apartment to our friends and family and can't wait to return again! Thank you Marco and Gianluca!

    Jessica2016-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is beautifully decorated and so quaint, not to mention the great location with regard to lovely restaurants and bars which are just around the corner. We were happy to eat in some nights as the apartment was a lovely place to chill out at the end of a long day at the beach. Gianluca himself is a fab host and it's easy to get hold of him with any queries or questions, would definitely recommend this place!

  • We loved our week in Lecce and our apartment was so beautiful. Gianluca & Ivana were so welcoming and helpful in every way. They have done a wonderful job in renovating the apartment. It was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed and is ideally located in this beautiful, old city within walking distance of the main sites and restaurants. A great place to come home to at the end of the day. Wonderful memories!!

    Lyn2013-05-25T00:00:00Z
  • Gianluca was very welcoming & helpful on our arrival to Lecce. We were able to park our rental across the road safely. Gianluca gave us maps to surrounding areas and loads of restaurant recommendations. Lecce is a really pretty city. And the beaches in the coastline are spectacular, although very crowded with locals holidaying in August. We faced the crowds and found some great spots. The apartment is located just one block out from the old part of town so fantastic location. Highly recommend as a base to explore southern Italy.

Charming and romantic,' Round' Cottage on the Santarella Estate in the Berkshires in Western Massachusetts. Formerly, the cottage was sculptor Henry Hudson Kitson's summer studio on the Santarella Estate. The two-story cottage has a charming bedroom with 35 foot high conical ceiling with canopied bed upstairs with views through massive, multi-paned "mill windows" to the trees and sky and out to the lily pond. The downstairs sitting room looks out on the babbling brook and lovely gardens.
Now open year-round! Charming, One Bedroom Cottage, former sculpting studio on the Santarella Estate in Tyringham, MA. Known as the "Silo Studio" Cottage. There is a bedroom with canopied queen bed upstairs and a sitting room with window bench-seat, coffee table, table and chairs, kitchenette area with wet bar with Micro/Fridge coffeemaker, toaster and bathroom with shower are downstairs. Fall asleep to sounds of the babbling brook and views to pond and forest from the large screened openings upstairs, like living in a "tree-house". Accommodates two only, fully furnished, all linens, towels included. There is Satellite DTV and Wireless Internet on site. The cottage is situated on four acres including lovely gardens, beautiful lily pond, running brooks and 2 acre woods. Absolutely unique, one-of-a-kind experience! Please Note, the cottage has traditionally been a three season rental from approximately March- November, however, due to much interest and demand, we have recently added a larger capacity pellet stove and made winterizing efforts and plan on keeping it open for guests interested in a winter experience in the cottage! Please keep in mind that access to our grounds may be limited with the accumulation of snow in winter months. During predicted extreme weather events, we will gladly work with guests to change reservations as we are always concerned for their comfort! Our lovely grounds are open to our guests. There are garden paths, babbling brook with stone bridges, loveliest of lily ponds, stone bench seating area with 'chiminea' and firewood for guest's use. There are two acres of woods with a loop trail as well. The town has an exceptionally beautiful Swimming Pond about 2 miles away which our guests may use. There are BBQs and picnic tables and it is often deserted. While we do have a pet friendly policy, prior approval and acceptance of our rules and policies is required before a pet may stay with you in our accommodations. There is also a $25.00 additional pet cleaning charge. The cottage is located on the Santarella Estate surrounded by gardens and storybook architecture. Santarella is located in the Tyringham Valley, tucked away 3.5 miles from Mass. I-90, a lovely and magical place where one feels like they have stepped back in time. This is definitely a place to 'get away from it all', enjoy quiet, rural surroundings close to the Appalachian Trail and Tyringham Cobble for hiking and many lovely ponds for swimming or kayaking. Vehicle is necessary. Grocery and other shopping at 3.5 miles.
Tyringham Valley was one of the original settlements in Western Massachusetts. It is mostly agricultural conserved land giving it a very rural, bucolic and idyllic character. The lovely 'Hop Brook' runs through the middle of the valley which is sparsely populated with mostly historic homes, making one feel like they have stepped back in time. An original, beautifully preserved Shaker settlement sits on top of the hillside opposite Santarella, overlooking it. At the far end of the valley, the gracious columns of the burned Ashintully mansion overlook the entire valley and are all that remain of the gilded-age estate which has beautiful preserved formal gardens, great to visit and hike. The Appalachian Trail is 2.25 miles from the cottage.
  • Denise was a wonderful host - we couldn't recommend the Silo Studio more. It's perfect for a cozy weekend getaway in the Berkshires, curling up by the fire downstairs, then heading up to the canopied bed in the loft above, with the stars in full view through the large windows. Perfect for snuggling together, then heading out to explore the surrounding towns and countryside. Denise was a fantastic host - from her warmth getting us situated (including fireplace tutorial!), to her care for the details of our stay, pre-stocking the mini-fridge with champagne (for our honeymoon!) and even coming to our rescue when our old car broke down in her driveway. We would absolutely stay again, and can't thank her enough for her hospitality, which truly goes above and beyond!

  • Denise was a wonderful host. She shared some great recommendations for things to do in the area and some nice restaurants. The cottage was everything you'd expect and more. There was a bottle of wine waiting at our arrival which was an extremely nice touch. We definitely want to come back to this amazing spot.

  • This place is magical. Very clean and welcoming, we were given a surprise bottle of champagne when we arrived. The garden is romantic and quiet. We loved the bedroom and waking up every morning feeling like we were sleeping in the tops of the trees. The Berkshires were very fun to explore and had many options for great food and things to do. We hope to come back here again soon!

  • I felt very welcome in staying at this airbnb. Denise was very communicative beforehand, had a hot fire and wine ready for us when we got there, and showed us around the cottage. She had a list of things to do in the area and also mentioned some of this in email beforehand when I had asked. The area is beautiful and it was really lovely to come home in the evenings and sit in the main area with a nice roaring fire.

  • My boyfriend and I rented the Silo Suite for a long weekend to celebrate our anniversary, and everything about our stay was fantastic! The Silo Suite offered amazing views and a clean, quiet atmosphere to get away from the city for a few days. Dennis and Denise (owners) were exceptionally friendly and you can really tell how much care and love they have invested into the entire Santarella estate. They even gave us a tour of the grounds and historic buildings before we left! The Silo was heated with an easy-to-use pellet stove, electric space heater, and the heated blanket was an added plus in making our November stay very cozy. There are tons of great restaurants, historic towns, beautiful scenic drives on windy back roads, and plenty of hiking trails all within a 15-mile radius. If you are looking for a memorable weekend getaway, I highly recommend staying here!!

    Emily2013-11-11T00:00:00Z

  • Denise did a great job making us feel welcome and taken care of. She left a bottle of wine for us and gave a tour of the property. The studio is beautiful unique place to stay in rural mass. We loved the space. While it was a cold weekend the stove kept us warm as well as the heated mattress on the bed. We would stay here again!

  • Rosali & Rui gave us the warmest of greetings, leaving us fruit, bread & coffee so we could settle in before going shopping. They gave us tips on what to do in the surrounding area, which filled our two days - we had a wonderful time in this gorgeous old house in a beautiful landscape! Thank you!

  • A secluded oasis steeped in a Lusitanian/ Roman/ medieval landscape, time stops still at this property. A place for lovers.

    Harry2017-06-07T00:00:00Z
  • Rui and Rosali are wonderful people and very welcoming hosts. They did everything in their power to assist us. It was our first holiday as a family with our baby daughter and everything went smoothly, also thanks to them! The house is stunning, even nicer than on the pictures. Spending time in the house was very relaxing, so much so that every time we went out we felt a bit sad.... It feels remote and yet it is easy to reach, just by the "main" road, and places like Moledo or the nearest supermarket in Vila Praia de Ancora are just a short 15-minute drive away. The house is small but functional, perfect for a couple with one or two kids or up to 4 close friends. We really appreciated the large fridge and freezer. We'd love to come back, perhaps when our baby daughter is old enough to play in the garden and splash around in the river.

  • This place is a treasure! The house is elegantly furnished and cosy. It is a quick drive from a supermarket in Ancora and close to Pointe da Lima and other interesting towns/ villages. There is a good collection of golden oldy music, books and DVD'S and we could really unwind before the next leg of our trip. It is the perfect little romantic cottage situated in the countryside.

Location Location Location~ Our home is close to the Mission, Lower Haight, and 2.5 blocks from the Castro theater. The underground is 3 blocks away, with a street car even closer. The room is small and cosy, but a great price for one of the most expensive neighborhoods in the US! Check in is at 5 and we are 37 steps up from street level. Please go light on perfume and cologne - we are allergic. Restaurants are plentiful and beautiful Dolores Park is quite close. Your room has a twin day bed 75 inches long with a desk and a solid door. The room is 9.25 feet by 8 feet. Amenities include wireless and a gorgeous full kitchen. Please ask if you would like to have a friend for a short visit.
  • The room and the apartment was really nice, cozy and clean. Brenda is a great host, really nice and helpful. The area is also great. Lots of things to see. It's just a short foot walk to Castro Street and a bit further to Haight-Asbury. I had a fantastic time, I can really recommend it.

  • I had a great time staying with Brenda, her apartment is beautiful and clean and located right where you want to be in San Francisco - in between the Mission and Castro. Brenda contacted me ahead of my arrival to make sure I knew how to get there and had also compiled a nice list of places to eat and drink in the area, as well as useful information about transportation and sightseeing. I would definitely recommend anyone wanting to explore San Francisco to stay with Brenda!

    Christine2013-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • Brenda was an excellent host! She made sure that I had neighborhood maps and information about what was around me for shopping, eating, laundry, etc. I stayed for a month and she made sure I had fresh towels and sheets every week. She is super friendly and I love her animals, Boo and MuMu the cat! Staying in the Castro was close to everything and a very interesting and colorful way to experience San Francisco! She left me a card and a delicious chocolate bar as a farewell gift. I would totally recommend her as a host!

  • Zachos met us immediately after arriving at the Imerovigli train station (and we were 10 mins early). He helped us carry our bags down to our room a few minutes away (this was MUCH appreciated). The neighborhood was charming to say the least and the owners of the super market across the main street nearby where very nice. I will let the view surprise you...words cannot describe it. I can go on and on....great experience.

    Carlos2014-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had an absolutely incredible time in Imerovigli at this beautiful listing!! Pictures cannot do justice how incredible the view is from the balcony! We were not able to meet Stefanos in person but he made sure to always communicate with us quickly vi email and was always very helpful! His assistant, Zachos, met us and carried our luggage down to the apartment (it's a lot of tiny and steep steps!!). We had a super early flight on the morning of the day we checked out, and Stefanos made sure to arrange a taxi for us and Zachos came at 5:40am to carry our luggage back up the steps! Excellent service, excellent studio, and simply stunning location! The only thing you'll regret is having to leave - seriously!!

    Marjorie2015-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • I really can't say anything that hasn't already been said about this place. It is fantastic! The view from the balcony is simply stunning! The location of the apartment is perfect as well. Rather than focus on the apartment itself, which has been reviewed many times here, let me talk about the amazing service we received during our stay. We arrived in Santorini at 8am, which was obviously too early to check in. We met Zachos at the Imerovigli bus stop at 8:30am and he walked us to the apartment, where he insisted on carrying our bags downstairs, where he would hold them until our check-in time. We met him back at the apartment at 2pm, which was the check-in time, and our bags were already inside. We actually checked out at 1:30am because we were catching a 3am ferry to Rhodes. Again, Zachos met us at that time, helped my wife with her bags up the stairs and had already arranged a taxi for us to take us to the ferry port. Zachos certainly did not have to meet us at these odd hours, outside of the check-in and check-out time, but he gladly did. I wasn't expecting that. Everything about our stay here was five stars. If/when I ever make it back to Santorini, I don't think I would want to stay anywhere else.

    Steve2016-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • This was a wonderful experience! 5 stars!! Such a beautiful place with a great host and help!!

    Jenny2016-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • Great apartment with a stunning view!! The deck felt very private. There are no neighbors to either side, and no busy walkways like some other places. The apartment was very clean and spacious with a fully stocked kitchen with plates, utensils, cups, etc and even wine glasses and a cocktail shaker. Bath and beach towels were provided. The bed was comfortable. Zachos was on-time meeting us to check in and check out. He was friendly and welcoming. We didn't meet Stefanos, but he was always available to answer our questions. I would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend this place!

    Roman2016-05-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great communication with Stefanos and perfect arrangement of meeting Zachos to go to the property. This place is literally amazing, you could sit on the pretty much private balcony for days. Zachos is a legend, and gave a great intro to the property and area. I highly recommend this property, the view alone is worth every penny! When I come back to Santorini I'll definitely come back here for the mind blowing view.

  • We could not have stayed at a better place for a visit in Cape Town. The apartment is located perfectly in a nice calm neighborhood. Gabriel was a super friendly and very helpful host who always responded immediately if we had any questions during our stay. The pictures are accurate and you definitely can't beat this awesome view over CT :)

  • We stayed for 6 nights in this beautiful flat. The view is just incredible. We enjoyed every second there. The only problem was, that it was very very windy and the windows rattled. But thats capetown. We stuffed the windows and doors with papet and hat quiet nights after that. Gabriel offered immdietly to find an other solution. But it worked. The kitchen has everything you need and some drinks for the first day. We would definetly come back. Thanks again :)

Lovely, clean and modern apartment that we would highly recommend! Thanks Gabriel!

  • Without a doubt the best place we stayed during our travels in Italy, and the best vacation home I've ever rented. Beautiful! The house is discreetly outfitted with every little thing you might possibly need while maintaining an uncluttered country charm. The rural location was a pleasure for us, and we found several memorable restaurants in Cisternino. Luca and his parents were exceedingly gracious and very quick to respond to communications. We felt very taken care of. I can't say enough good things about this home. I only wish I could have stayed longer. Thank you!

    Eva2013-05-22T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely and charming place. Luca and his parents were very helpful and accommodating. Tulli equipped with everything :) I recommend.

  • This house is absolutely beautiful! It isn't easy to find a true Trulli available at a decent price to stay in and this is the real deal. It contains all the necessary equipment and more, the host is very friendly and the house has been in his family for 300 years, so it's as real as it gets. Perfect for a romantic stay or a couple with children.

  • lovely stay in cisternino ! fantastic place, great welcome of Luca's father!

    Vincent2015-05-04T00:00:00Z
  • We were all looking forward to our experience of living in a Trulli, If only for a week. We were not disappointed! We were warmly welcomed by Lucas' mother who was a ball of energy. She was only to happy to point out all of the amenities of the house . ( the coffee machine, washing machine and shower). All great. We were 5 adults sharing the cozy accommodation, one of the beds was over the dinning room, access was via a trap door and a ladder. Our adult son managed it easily. The kitchen was small but very practical and allowed us to cook some wonderful puglieise cuisine. Location was ideal for us as we could easily walk to town or have easy access to drives. Only 300 meters from our door was Almond a gelato and pastry shop. So far the best gelato we have had. Thank you Luca for offering your Trulli to us and for other fellow travellers it is a unique experience. Frank, Linda, Elvira, Patricia and David.

  • We had a nice stay in this lovely Trulli. Luca's father Biagio was a great host who met us and helped us reach the Trulli after dark. The Trulli was in a rural location, was very clean, plenty of space, necessary tools in the kitchen, and the best thing - washcloths in the bathroom (something we never find in our European travels!).

    Cathy2015-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely trullo in a beautiful location. Kids loved the attic room. Met by luca's parents who were very helpful.

  • We had a great experience communicating with our host, Luca, as well as his father. Even though we got a little lost, Luca responded promptly and helpfully to all messages. His father was able to find us and lead us to the house! We experienced an issue with the washing machine but Luca's mother promptly came over to remedy the situation. Luca's father also recommended an EXCELLENT restaurant nearby called Osteria Sant'Anna. It was so good we went there two out of the three nights during our stay. If you stay here, you must go!

Several metro stations and bus stops are nearby, howewer most of the sights are within walking distance; the cathedral, Santa Maria del Mar, the beaches and Las Ramblas can be reached in less than 10 minutes. • Xavier's apartment is as on the photos. Clean, spacious and beautiful. The apartment is in the middle of el Gotic, with all the museums and nice restaurants around the corner. The sunny roof terrace made the apartment even better. Xavier was a good and friendly host. I would recommend this airbnb to everybody!

  • I can't praise this place enough. Xavier was an amazing host, so helpful and friendly and really made us feel welcome throughout our whole stay. And his apartment is simply gorgeous! It's in a perfect location, our room was fantastic, the lounge is beautiful and historic and the roof terrace is just the perfect place to breakfast, relax in the afternoon or enjoy with a glass of wine in the evening. We really didn't want to leave and loved every minute of our stay, definitely check it out.

  • Very friendly accommodation in a great location in Barcelona. Right next door to the Picasso museum. The only drawback is there are an awful lot of stairs to climb with luggage.

    Catherine2012-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • It is a beautifull and clean apartment and the location is great. Xevi's home made bread every morning was delicious. We expected a private apartment so we were surprised that there were two rooms for rent and that Xevi lived there as well. But it was only a surprise, not a problem. We were welcome to stay in the livingroom, but when Xevi was there we felt a bit like we were intruding his privacy. Though the bedrooms didn't have a lock, I absolutely didn't feel unsave. Xevi, thanks for your hospitality. It was nice staying with you. If I visit Barcelona again, I will check if you have a room available.

    Willem2013-06-02T00:00:00Z

  • We stayed 5 nights at Xavier's home. We had a bit of a hard time finding the door due to the crowds around Picasso museum (and a case of jet lag) Called Xavier who directed us where to go and then came and found us on the street when we passed it again! Thanks again for that Xavier! Beautiful home, lovely rooftop patio. Great central location, you can easily walk to most of the sites. If you are up for it you can even go to La Sagrada Familia and Parc Guell on foot (we did both but Parc Guell was a long hike, about 10 miles roundtrip, with the last part before the park being uphill) but public transportation is easily accessed as well. Xavier was friendly and helpful. Upon arriving he shared information about the area and showed maps etc. to help us make decisions on where to go. We really enjoyed our stay with Xavier and would recommend his place. (Unless you are unable to walk up three flights of narrow winding stairs) Loved the history of the building and the surrounding area. Thank you again Xavier for helping to make our stay enjoyable! • We had a wonderful experience at the Yurt. The yurt was comfortable, and fun. The breakfasts were wonderful, and Whitt and Martha were super thoughtful, friendly, and hospitable hosts. They were giving of their time in many ways, as they showed us around their farm on two occasions, and showed us the hiking trails on the mountain. This was our time to get-away without the kids and it was the perfect experience for us. We are already trying to figure out when we can get back!

    Kimberly2014-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • Our time on the farm was incredible! The location, amenities, and gracious hosts far exceeded any expectations we had prior to arrival. I will definitely stay at the yurt again -- I loved hearing about what Whitt and Martha are creating on their land.

    Heidi2014-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • We love the yurt! Absolutely met and exceeded our expectations - delicious food, wonderful location, amazing host! When our plans to grill outside were thwarted by rain, Whitt told us how to use the kitchen grill to get amazingly tasty results instead. The sound of the rain on the yurt was the perfect soundtrack to our cozy night in. Will absolutely plan to return!

  • We stayed 5 nights for our honeymoon and it was amazing. It was 5 days of utter peace and tranquility. The breakfasts were fantastic and fresh. Whitt and his family were more than welcoming. We will definately go back.

  • Amazing experience! We love the cookies!

  • All my friends want to come back! It was magical experience staying in the yurt. The hosts gave detailed and useful directions for finding the yurt. Whitt greeted us upon arrival. The heat and stove was turned on when we got there so the yurt was nice and warm. Although there was no internet, we had a lot of fun playing guitar and Jenga. The two double beds and two twin beds worked out perfectly. Whitt and Martha are delightful hosts. We really enjoyed our stay. Definitely buy foods or ingredients for cooking before coming! The closest grocery store is half an hour away.

  • We had an incredible time at the yurt! My boyfriend & I just returned home yesterday after spending two romantic, relaxing and very memorable nights at the yurt to celebrate my birthday and our two-year anniversary. We could not have dreamed up a better b & b to spend our special weekend. We were welcomed on Friday by Whitt and Martha's daughter and her husband with a complimentary tray of delicious cheese & fruit and a bottle of champagne sent by my parents. We spent the day exploring the beautiful trails and woods surrounding the yurt (part of Cair Paravel Farm) and enjoyed a dip in the pool, where we were greeted by Murphy, a friendly Golden Retriever staying at the farm. We were treated to a wonderful dinner cooked by Whitt, which we enjoyed on the deck of the yurt (my profile photo is actually of us before we sat down to eat!) After dinner, Whitt’s daughter Mia and her husband Brendan gave us a barn tour where we were able to meet all of the animals on the farm, learn more about the farm's history and enjoy their spectacular view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. We spent Saturday and Sunday enjoying wine tastings, driving through little towns nearby and dining at lovely restaurants (all fabulous recommendations made by Whitt & family!) We found a great record shop in Ruckersville and enjoyed a romantic anniversary dinner at Pomme Restaurant in Gordonsville. We also recommend stopping by the town of Orange, which is quite charming. Other highlights included being served a delicious breakfast each morning, also cooked by Whitt, and just relaxing in the yurt itself. It is a beautiful structure including everything one might need for a weekend getaway. We especially loved sitting up in the loft and listening to music. Our favorite moment was meeting Lou, a baby goose who has quickly become an addition to Whitt’s family. The little gosling loves people and is quite talkative! Lou hangs out in Martha’s garden and when he heard our voices, he came running down the garden fence – he was so excited to see us! We were able to hold, pet and love Lou, who we think would make the perfect mascot for the yurt! When we left yesterday, Whitt gave me a huge hug and wished me a happy birthday. What more can I say? The sense of family, community and love of the natural world at Cair Paravel is unparalleled. We fell in love with the yurt and can’t wait to go back!

    Monica & Aaron2011-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • Ummm… is there a 20 star rating? The yurt deserves it! My boyfriend and I had been talking about the yurt non-stop since we made the reservations. We were literally counting down the days until Yurtday (aka Friday). Needless to say, we built up some super high expectations. The Yurt was even more fabulous than we envisioned. The first night, I think we said “Oooooh look!” a hundred times. Everything people have said in the reviews is true. And, hard as it is to believe, the yurt is way more beautiful than it looks in the pictures. The Ledford family is absolutely fantastic. They were warm, welcoming and have thought of absolutely every detail needed for an amazing, relaxing and carefree weekend. We even got to meet their animals-- including baby goats! We were so sad to leave and will most definitely stay longer next time. We can’t wait to go back!

  • Chandlers "Tower" is exactly as advertised...serene. The location is perfect for exploring Monterey / Carmel and then retreating into the hills. Chandler takes excellent care of his property and very responsive if you need anything - a great host. We'll definitely stay here again!

    Matt2014-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • I can't say enough positive things about our experience at the tower. Tiger goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome. As I told him, he keeps this place the way he would want it if he was staying there. Everything was clean, lovely and I have absolutely no complaints. The space is perfectly quaint and has all the little amenities anyone could need, including a small fridge, coffee pot and awesome bed! The bathroom is also great and the little walk to it is no big deal. Additionally his property is gorge, peaceful and great for star gazing! I also fell in love with his two wonderful dogs. We will definitely return!

  • Unique experience at Chandler's tower! Chandler is very helpful and kindly!

    Haojun2015-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at the tower for one night and absolutely loved it. The view was spectacular and the sunrise in the morning even better. Chandler was a great host with a wealth of knowledge on things to do and places to see nearby, highly suggest talking to him before making plans around.

    Faheem2015-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Chandler was there to personally welcome us and show us around. We had all the basic amenities we needed which was nice, and the view was incredible, very peaceful and quiet.

  • Chandler was a wonderful host. Upon arrival he greeted us and made us feel welcome right away. The suggestions he provided on things to see & do in Carmel and also all along Highway 1 were helpful and made our trip more enjoyable. The tower looked just as it does in the pictures. It was truly a wonderful get-a-way! Thank you Chandler!!!

    Karen2016-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed only one night at the Tower, and we truly wished we had stayed more days. The Tower is a romantic refuge - a place to rejuvenate and marvel the Carmel valley landscape. The bed was so comfortable and the room so cozy. The outdoor patio is an incredible place to journal, sunbathe, read a book and, my favorite, watch the sun rise. We woke up early this morning to do just that - perhaps, the best part of our highway 1 journey. Chandler was a fantastic host who love his home and is so proud of the local area - he gave us great tips of where to eat and how to get around. On his recommendation we got take out from cafe rustica bringing our pizzas back to the tower, where we ate them while relaxing and looking out at the valley from the patio. We LOVE this place and will definitely be coming back!

    Grace2016-03-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great hideaway right next to valley. Amazing views. Lots of flowers, greenery in the garden even hummingbirds. Overall a carefully made space around the small tower that makes you instantly relax and feel comfortable. The inside of the tower is small and quite simple but efficiently layed out, feels bigger than it is. Has a kitchenette for microwaving or heating water. Bathroom in the barn next door is perfectly clean and decorated with style and care. Great restaurant in both relaxed Carmel Valley and gorgeous more upscale Carmel by the Sea. Perfect spot to land when going highway 1. One or two nights is great, two nights is better to really soak in the view and midday sun on the patio. Finally it was a pleasure to meet Chandler who is the perfect host and a great guy. Highly recommend to stay here.

The Balian treehouse is only a 3 minute walk away from the beach. From the veranda you can watch the sunrise in the morning, and enjoy the view of our beautiful garden (900m2) with pool. (when fully booked also see https://airbnb.com/rooms/4875630 its called The funky glasshouse).
The space We have several hangouts in our garden, and our pool is beautiful lit in the evening and turquoise in the daytime just inviting you to jump in. Upstairs is the open living area. The lazy couch on the veranda is overlooking the palm trees (TREEHOUSE) our beautiful garden and pool and has some ocean view aswell. It's the perfect place to wake up and relax drinking your coffee or tea. You can enjoy a nice ocean breeze when you feel its too warm to be outside in the sun or just when you feel the need to be nicely lazy..Inside there is a big (180 x 240) daybed with mosquito net if you need it. Downstairs there is the bedroom, kitchenette, bathroom and a second veranda. We have a rain shower with hot water, there is a standing fan and AC in the bedroom. In the bedroom there is a Flatscreen TV with some channels and movies on demand. The TV has a USB plug so you could take your favo movies or series to watch. We also have a dvd player. We use Indihome fiber for the quickest internet in Bali, so you can stream and download. When arriving at his lovely and special village, you immediately feel all the good Bali has to offer you. Balian is a small surfer/relax village it feels like the older days in Bali. We build the house as green as possible with a lot of decoration found in the nature, like the driftwood from the beach. I put a lot of blood, sweat, fun and tears in building this house. We are always busy expanding and updating the house which has to be done living near the ocean!! Although Made and his wife come to clean everyday it is impossible to get this house sterile, due to the openness and wind and just...nature. So this is not a house for a hosophobic! Everything in the village is in walking distance, but if you would like to go for some sightseeing outside the village, you may want to rent a bike. Please, always wear helmets, not only for your own safety but also the Police will check this regularly. If you would like to go out for dinner: (Luckily) There are no DELI's, STARBUCKS or MACDONALDS in the village but we do have enough nice restaurant to choose from. BALIAN SEGARA, TOM's garden (TOMS SALAD!), Astana had the best burgers (and a lot of sports on TV), Pondok Pitaya, DEKI's, BALIAN beach warung, Gajah Mina, Bintang Balian, the night market and others. The night market is nearby and has plenty of nice local food for great prices. Ofcourse there is also the possibility to cook your a simple meal in the kitchenette. Feel free to pick your own fruit from the garden! (depending of the season we have coconuts, lemons, papayas, lemongrass, jackfruit, passionfruit and more to come) The area is really safe but we still have a big fire proof safe box were you can put your laptop and other belongings.
I love the feeling of a small community in this village, everyone knows each other and is super friendly. There is a nice mixture of people, local and foreign and all kinds of ages as well. Since we are not the only one who have discovered Balian there are people in Balian creating more beautiful places to stay. SURFING: Within 5 minute walking distance from the house you will find 3 beautiful peaks. Excellent for beginners as well as experienced surfers. At a 15 minute driving distance you will find Medewi, well known for Bali's longest ride when it lines up on a S-SW Swell All the other surf spots are at a 20 minute - 3 hour drive around the island This village is a great place to start your holiday (be careful some never left) or end your trip.
  • Our experience at the Balian Treehouse was wonderful! Exactly as shown in the pictures. Putu was so incredibly friendly and accommodating. She was able to set us up with a motorbike as well as a poolside couples massage on the property. I think it should be noted that Putu is not the owner, nor the person who you are communicating with through AirBnB. That was a bit confusing for me at first. Miryam is the owner who you will likely not meet since she does not live in Balian Beach. The view from the balcony is breathtaking, and the perfect way to start your morning as you sip on coffee and eat the breakfast that you cooked in the kitchen downstairs. The kitchen comes with all the basic necessities which is a really nice thing to have a home-cooked meal while traveling. There were definitely geckos living in the treehouse who we thought of as our Balian pets, along with Molly the dog who would come on to the property and sleep in the poolside bungalow at night. The night market is a must, and walking distance from the treehouse. You can get a great, authentic meal for so cheap! I ate at the noodle soup stand which came out to only 79 cents USD!! As for the rest..of course, the beach is beautiful, Tom's Garden cafe has a GREAT squid satay, and the Pondok Pitaya has a wonderful setup for a daily yoga class with an ocean view. The treehouse was one of our favorite memories of Bali & I would recommend this place to any of my friends. Thank you to Putu and Miryam!!

    Melissa2015-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • The house is magical! Everything was clean and identical to the photos. Miryam herself was easy to contact and so helpful when we did! She arranged for Gusti, a local cab driver, to pick us from the airport. He gave us a lot of great advice about the area and even took us around the city one day! The restaurants are within walking distance and all have really helpful, friendly staff. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it for anyone in the area :)

    Zoë2015-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at Balian Treehouse - We had the pleasure of meeting not just Made the wonderful manager, but also the lovely owners Miriam and Mario. All of them were extremely accommodating, helped us with our transfers to and from (our driver, Gusti, was also great!) and arranged the best massage we have EVER had - no exaggeration. Aside from the great people the place was as great (if note greater) as you see in the photos. Miriam gave us the full story of what they'd built if from etc. and they've done such a lovely job with the place. Very authentic-feeling but really comfortable and in beautifully relaxing surrounds. We loved it and really hope to go back.

    Victor2016-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • Best place in Balian Beach!

    Martin2015-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • We were in need of some serious relaxation, and boy was this the right place! It's located in a small village, which is just big enough to have a couple of tiny restaurants and some convenience stores, Miryam's house is located on a hillside and is a five minute walk from the beach and its shops. Being five minutes away makes the house even more secluded. You can spend evenings on the open-air upper deck, and hear nothing but chirps. Sometimes a cow passes by, or some chickens run around on the property. It gets really wild when Molly the dog protects the land by barking at these animals ;) The village inhabitants, human and non-human, seem to share a gene which makes them super of friendly and relaxed. Miryam is a superb host. Although she had other plans, she wanted to greet us, and decided to wait, despite our delayed arrival. Everything you need is in the house, ready for you to use. Putu always came through when we needed him.

    Maurice2014-06-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay in the mushroom villa. The villa and the garden with the pool are amazing. It's exactly as nice as on the pictures. We spent a lot of the time at the pool and walking on the beach. There are really nice restaurants around with very friendly staff but most of the time we ate at pondok pitaya. After a day in crowdy Kuta it was like coming home to the nice balian with the great nature. Putu the houskeeper is very friendly and helped us whenever needed. She arranged us a driver and massages. She comes everyday to clean the house but is also reachable by phone. It was the best place we could imagine to spend 2 weeks full of relaxing, expiriencing new things and good food. I can recommend it to everyone who want to feel like in paradise.

    Eliane2015-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at Balian Tree house! It's even more beautiful than the photos, so serene and relaxing. It's a short walk to wonderful restaurants. Made and Gusti (who drove us from the airport) were so kind and welcoming, and willing to help with any small request. We loved our time here and would absolutely return!

    Tracy2016-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • My stay at Bali beachhouse was excellent. Madi and his wife were very helpful with any questions. Great place only 5 minutes from the beach to surf and chill. The place itself is very Nice with a clean swimming pool, would recommend, thanks again!

*This cabin was just featured in the New York Times!* (January 2017) A magical homesteader cabin embedded in 5 acres of unfenced Joshua Tree desert wilderness, 12 minutes from downtown Joshua Tree. Experience peace, quiet, wildlife and STARS—on the grid but off the pavement.
If this cabin is booked on your dates, check out our other two cabins nearby ("Homestead Camp Cabin in Joshua Tree" and "Midcentury Prefab Homesteader Cabin") *** If you would like to use our cabin as a shooting location please get in touch to discuss our rates, otherwise we do not allow commercial or professional shooting of any kind (photo, video, film) during your stay. Thank you in advance! *** The restored cabin, which has been featured in the New York Times 'T' travel magazine, Wilder Quarterly, The Weekender and the book 'Jackrabbit Homestead,' was constructed in 1955 and still has its original green paint. Joshua Tree National Park is a 15 minute drive from the cabin. The Integratron and Giant Rock are also 15 minutes away. The cabin is less than two miles from artist Noah Purifoy's famous sculpture garden site. Two miles in the other direction is Dhamma Dena, teacher Ruth Denison's Vipassana Buddhist center. The always swinging Pappy & Harriet's BBQ and music roadhouse in beautiful Pioneertown is a 30-minute drive. The Lou Harrison House, which hosts occasional devotional, folk and avant garde music events in an intimate setting is less than 10 minutes away. We will be happy to give you directions to each of these unique places (and many others) that we frequent ourselves. The cabin sits on 5 acres, and feels remote, but it's just 12 minutes from downtown Joshua Tree. You will travel a few miles on a secure, hard dirt road to get here. Enjoy the spectacular panoramic sunset and sunrise—as well as a blanket of stars. In the wintertime, you can build a bonfire too. Sleep comfortably in a queen-sized bed. The renovated interior has a cookware-outfitted kitchen and dining area. There is an outhouse with a dry toilet and roofless shower a few yards from the cabin. Wireless internet is available if you require a connection to the digital world. The cabin is equipped with air conditioning. The cabin is located next to BLM land and a wildlife corridor, which means you will witness these wild animals in their native habitat. The cottontail rabbits, cactus wrens, lizards, desert tortoises, jackrabbits, coyotes, owls and roadrunners (and more!) that make the desert their home make a visit to this serene cabin all the more special. Guests may have freshly prepared organic juices made by local juice cleanse guru Angela de la Agua delivered to the cabin. A menu/pricelist is available upon request. Extra guests can sleep on the air mattress or camp on the site for an additional $30/person per night. This absolutely must be arranged with us ahead of time so that it can be reflected in the Airbnb reservation and bill. Please note that we have a TW0-NIGHT MINIMUM stay, and a THREE-NIGHT MINIMUM FOR HOLIDAY WEEKENDS. This requirement allows us to keep our rates low, so that the greatest number of folks get a chance to experience being here in the unfenced desert, under the Milky Way. We donate 2.5% of our proceeds to the Mojave Desert Land Trust, an excellent local non-profit organization devoted to "protect[ing] the Mojave Desert ecosystem and its scenic and cultural resource values."
  • The desert in winter has no care for frivolity and this cabin suited us perfectly on a full moon overnight stay. Traveled here in mid-January and the sunset was epic, the silence golden. Echoing other guests, our only regret is that we did not plan a longer stay. Will hopefully return sooner rather than later

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Stephanie & Jay's homesteader cabin-- we were looking for a unique experience while in Joshua Tree and definitely found one. While the area was not as secluded as we initially expected, the very few residences around were empty anyway and we enjoyed our privacy. It was also far enough out from the town to enjoy some peace and quiet, but close enough to grab a meal if you wanted to. Jay was very flexible in providing us with the key at our time of arrival, and was helpful in explaining anything to watch out for and any places in the area to go. We also loved hearing about the cabin itself and other plans for the surrounding land. Overall, definitely recommended to travelers seeking a fun desert getaway.

  • The cabin is amazing. Its so incredibly beautiful in person. Its great to sit out on the porch and watch the sunset. Stephanie was very nice & was there to meet us and explain everything about the cabin, she also was very understanding with our changing arrival time. Unfortunately we only were able to stay one night, but we will definitely be back again! Highly recommended!

  • We met Jay and he was amazing! Such a wonderful host they were! The house was UNCANNY! Everything and anything we could have ever asked for! What an amazing trip it turned out to be! We can't wait to make a return to Joshua Tree and the cabin... I'm sure we will see you soon Stephanie & Jay, next time we are in Joshua Tree you are the place we want to be! Thank you so very much! :) HELLO WORLD, STAY AT THE CABIN! YOU WILL NOT REGRET A MOMENT OF IT! - Tegan & Tim

  • Our stay in Jay and Stephanie's home was more than great! Jay welcomed us and showed us around the property, and they provided easy to follow instructions to get there! We were a little worried about driving a bit through a dirt road, since we drive a Mini, but it was well kept and driving carefully we had no problem at all! The cabin is cozy and has everything you need (and more), it was great to sit on the porch and read as night fell, very calm and relaxing. We loved every bit!

    Rebeca2015-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • My fiance and I stayed at Jay's and Stephanie's cabin for two nights. The place was definitely as describes. SUPER peaceful and very cute! Jay was an amazing host and answered all of our questions. He made sure that everything was great from beginning to end. I loved sitting outside and watch the sun hide behind the hills as the stars started to illuminate the sky. I would totatly recommend this place to people, if you don't mind using a non-flush toiled and an outdoor shower but still have all the amenities of a home this is the place for you. Thank you Jay and Stephanie for allowing us to create memories in your lovely cabin.

    Jaqueline2014-04-24T00:00:00Z
  • Jay was very helpful upon arrival, explained everything thoroughly and made us feel welcome. The homesteader cabin was beautiful and very clean, the bed was comfortable and the remote desert area was perfect for our 2 day getaway. The light is wonderful in the desert and the big glass windows make the room feel magical. Definitely very happy with our experience!

    Raffa2015-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed two nights and could have stayed a week. Even so Joshua Tree NP was tempting us for hikes, we found it quite hard to leave our cabin. It is just the perfect place to do nothing apart from sitting on the veranda with a drink in your hand gazing at the desert. The perfect place for slowing life down and recharging. Thanks to Stephanie and Jay for renovation this little gem.

Coco was very kind and promptly responded to our questions and provided detailed information. We would love to stay at her place again when visiting Shanghai!! Thank you Coco!!

  • The house is nice and chic just like photo. we stay here for only one night. we didn't get to meet the host face to face, but both coco and her housekeeper respond very quickly. it is a redecorated old building so there's still some problem. for instance the soundproof is poor and the wooden bed without mattress is too hard to sleep. apart from these, it is a good place to experience local shanghai lifestyle.

    Wens2016-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • Good location! Very nice stay and excellent experience.

  • Staying at Coco's charming Shanghai apartment was a pleasure. The apartment, perfect for two people, was clean, stylish, and in a great neighborhood close to the metro, restaurants, and the French Concession. The instructions to get to the apartment were clear and easy. I requested the apartment address in Mandarin (for the taxi driver) and it was provided within minutes. The host responded quickly via (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) to all of my questions about local restaurants and shopping. I would definitely stay at Coco's apartment again.

A sturdy cabin with lots of natural light, right in a flowerful garden. It will feel like living outdoors, while inside the cabin there is a lingering aroma of larix wood and crackling of the woodstove. This charming garden room has a 180 degrees garden view, with large windows in the front and in the roof. (Full length curtains for the windows allow for privacy.) In the cabin you will find a comfortable bed with good mattress - size 165cm by 205cm and plushy pillows. A comfortable desk and chair, free WiFi – to read or even finish some work. Besides being well-suited for the summer, it is also very cozy for the autumn and winter because of the romantic woodstove. The bathroom and toilet are just a few steps away in the main house. Inside the cabin itself is a faucet for water and thanks to good suggestions from guests there is now a chemical toilet for a pee in the night. A small stream meanders past the front of the cabin. In the evening the garden is nicely lighted and makes for a beautiful sight and there are multiple sitting areas in the garden. And chickens to enjoy :) - no roosters! The cabin is about 8mts behind our house. The location is in the largest natural area of the Netherlands. The area is great for both walking and bicycling (if you did not bring your own, we have two you can borrow). Many short and long walking and biking routes through heathlands, woods and meadows start within a kilometer from the house. Also within walking distance (800 meter) are the town centre (with shops and several decent restaurants) and swimming pool. Lakes (including beaches) are 5 kilometers away. Because of the central location of the town, many relevant cities are easily reachable. Neighbouring the town is a smaller historic city, Harderwijk (5 kilometers). Zwolle, Amersfoort and Apeldoorn are a half hour drive. Amsterdam is a one hour drive. Your vehicle can be parked in our own driveway. We are also easily reachable by public transportation. The train station is a 12 minute walk away, the nearest bus stop is around the corner. Welcome!
  • So amazing experience! Thank you very much! If I will visit Netherlands again, I will book this room again!!

  • Bea and Frans were fantastic hosts! The Gardenroom was everything you need to have a tranquil and relaxing stay while touring the wonderful, wooded areas of Ermelo. The wood stove was a great touch for those colder evenings and for cooking on. There is something special about the smell from a wood stove and the sound of the fire burning as you sip on some wine. Bea and Frans opened up there house to us and we were very appreciative of that, they are wonderful people and very thoughtful hosts. After a long day of touring around Amsterdam we arrived home late and to our surprise a fire was going in our gardenroom, it was toasty warm, amazing. We highly recommend the Gardenroom, Ermelo, Bea and Frans.

  • We had a great time staying in the wonderful garden room of Bea and Frans. The weather was not cooperating, a little rain and showers both days, but we were cozy and warmed by the woodstove. Bea and Frans are great hosts. They offered us the use of their bicycles, which we gladly accepted and used between the rain showers. And a nice plate of fruit in the morning was also appreciated. Highly recommended.

  • This has been the best experience I've had so far since I've discovered Airbnb. Bea and Frans are amazing hosts and the gardenroom was exactly as described. We had no problem whatsoever and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a bit of peace and quiet with a romantice fireplace. Oh, the fireplace.... I shall miss it so! Thank you and looking forward to staying there again in the near future! Greetings to the chickens!

  • We really enjoyed this vacation! Bea & Frans absolutely are such awesome people! we loved everything! the gardenroom is simply beautiful and the bed is very very comfortable. the beach in ermelo isnt too far. so this is the perfect range for a vacation. We also loved the little suprise breakfast by Bea&Frans! This was so cute (: from the bottom of our hearts. thank you so much for this perfect vacation! Be blessed! - Lucie & Johannes

  • Bea and Frans are kind people, shame we didn't get to talk more, but there was to much great stuff to do and to see. These are truly great hosts: wake up in the morning and find fresh fruit and vegetables next to your door (placed by them of course) offer to lend their own bikes etc. The garden house is great: we stayed there at the end of December and with the fireplace the place warmed up quickly. It looks great from the outside (you get your own switch for the waterfall / river in front of the hut) and it is very cosy from the inside. Highly recommended!

    Gijs2012-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay with Bea and Frans! It was close enough to Amsterdam city that we could just take the train, but far enough away to get that town feel. The garden room was so cozy and comfortable! We liked having the fireplace going, but sometimes it got chilly at night if it went out. Bea and Frans were very helpful, offering us use of their bikes and leaving fruit for us for breakfast. The pictures and description were very accurate and we would love to visit with them again. Their neighborhood was also a great place to walk around if you don't want to go into the city. Thank you!

  • It was a great experience to live in the wood house, so beautiful and romantic!! The transportion is also very convenience. It is so special memory:) Thanks Bea and Frans to hold us:)

Escape Los Angeles to this incredible getaway! Perched on a private bluff amidst thousands of acres of pristine nature and wildlife, the airstream boasts infinite ocean views, serenity and style. instagram: @malibudreamairstream
This is the personal Airstream of a nature-loving Malibu designer who built it as his personal getaway from his busy hectic schedule. Stripped down past its aluminum studs, it's been redesigned into a large studio with three large frameless glass panels that slide open to a huge cantilevered deck with unrivaled views of the Pacific ocean and thousands of acres of pristine and untouched nature. Lounge in our luxury extra thick wool rugs and cotton poufs, drive down to surf one of Malibu's best beaches, have dinner at neptune's net or go hike Sandstone Peak, Santa Monica's highest mountain just behind the property. Enjoy incredible sunsets and even more amazing starry nights without any light pollution and try to spot the satellites silently wizzing past the milky way beaming down to earth. And then at dawn, if you are lucky with the morning fog, wake up above the clouds like you are the only person in this planet. IMPORTANT NOTE - This listing is weather dependent. If there is a high chance of rain or rain scheduled during your stay we reserve the right to cancel the reservation due to slippery dirt road conditions and the fact that we have to store all the expensive furniture inside the airstream. Please do not use GPS to find the airstream. Use the directions we provide in the itinerary. Please do not book this space if you are afraid of sleeping somewhere remote in isolation or are afraid of nature or expect a 100% bug free environment. You are literally surrounded by thousands of untouched acres of wildlife. That means there might be a few mosquitoes or bugs or even a mouse or a rattle snake (we have yet to see one at the airstream). The beauty of the experience lies in sleeping with the doors open, under the milkyway while hearing the ocean below and the occasional seal barking in the distance or coyote howling for its pack.
Circle x ranch, county line beach, matador beach, zuma as well as many other hikes are all less than 10mn away.
  • California Dream!

    Nathalie2017-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Loved this space so much! It was absolutely stunning, really couldn't find a better getaway spot. It is very secluded and private (a bit tricky to get to, but completely worth the winding roads!). Once you arrive you are staying there- so we were happy we brought food, cards, and drinks with us! Amazing views of the ocean and surrounding mountains. Enjoyed one of the most beautiful sunsets and sunrises I've ever seen. You really do feel as though you're floating among the clouds. The airstream itself is great, lots of little details like iPhone music hookups and nice wooden and metal shelving. The best part is the outdoor rug/pillow area. This was by far our favorite airbnb we've ever done in California.

    Julia2015-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing stay up there. The views are breathtaking and it's the perfect place to recharge. We brought books and didn't read a single page because we didn't want our mind to leave the place and moment. The drive is not as bad as some reviews suggest. Bring plenty of water and maybe a torch.

    Felix2017-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a true gem and a huge experience. I would definently recommend giving yourself an opportunity to see and experience this unique place. Rani was a great host all along in the process.

    Anders2017-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • Best views around and a completely unique experience. Maybe I was unfortunate due to weather, but the airstream in and of itself is quite noisy to sleep in. During the night the glass windows kept banging around due to wind, there were also continuous beeps from power sources for the air bnb. Definitely a great location though!

    Blake2017-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • The airstream is gorgeous, even better in person than in the photos. The views are incredible, and the airstream itself is very clean and comfortable. The interior is fun and stylish. Rani was a fantastic host--friendly and responsive. We weren't sure if we would be able to book due to incoming rainstorms, but Rani was patient and thoughtful, working with us to book our stay as soon as the weather was clear. We had a great experience and absolutely hope to book another stay this summer!

    Molly2016-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay. Would love to do it again. The mornings and evenings were surreal. The host was quick to answer any questions. Some little creatures, but hey your camping in their territory, so all good. Recommend a shower when you first arrive, water in the morning is pretty cold. We did have a white husky show up on the deck. The dog turned out to be friendly.

  • Lola was very accommodating to our schedule and was there to welcome us when we arrived. The apartment was spotless and was in a great location to walk around and see the city. We were able to walk to dinner every night which we loved! She also left a great personalized guide book with her favorite restaurants and spots. Our only problem, and this may be our fault for not reading the details of the apartment, is that there is no air conditioning. It really was not bearable for summer nights when temperatures are in the 80s and 90s. I would have given the apartment five stars otherwise.

    Courtney2015-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • Lola's apartment is absolutely gorgeous! It is centrally located in a quiet street and is clean, spacious and beautifully decorated. What I loved most though was the attention to detail. Lola has obviously put a lot of thought into making your stay as comfortable as possible. From the well appointed kitchen including coffee machine, to the CD collection, to little extras such as eye makeup remover pads in the bathroom to the numerous guide books and brochures on Avignon and surrounds, the apartment boasts everything you could need. I dined at two of the restaurants Lola recommended in the compendium and loved them both! Lola is very friendly and accommodating and readily available to answer any questions you may have. Highly recommended!

  • Beautiful apartment. We got there a little beyond the time of checkin and she was very accommodating. Excellent communication. This is an apartment I wish I could design and own. Everything is meticulous and very well curated. Amazing stay and made our vacation memorable. Wish we could of stayed longer.

  • We stayed here for only 1 night as a stopover, but definitely wish we could have stayed longer! The apartment is in a perfect position, walking distance to everything! Felt very safe and secure. Just like the photos - styled beautifully and was very clean. The kitchen was equipped with everything you need and we were able to cook ourselves dinner. Wouldn't stay anywhere else in Avignon!

    Bridget 2014-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay in Lola's stylish apartment. The design is beautiful and our children loved climbing the spiral stairs up to the apartment (apparently very 'Harry Potter'). The apartment is in a great location within the City walls and close to a range of amenities. Lola provided useful information on the local area. We would love to return one day. Thanks Lola!

    Christine2015-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed in this apartment for three nights during Easter long weekend. Lola met me there upon my arrival and gave me the keys. The apartment is very cute and has a true Provençal charm. For a traveller like me it was perfect. The apartment is situated in an old building and has two rooms - a living room and a bedroom, both stylish and very cozy. Lots of windows give the dwelling a lot of light. The kitchen has everything necessary to make a proper meal, but I used it mainly to make tea. Overall, the experience was just perfect, I really felt like home. The check out went smoothly. I would willingly stay in this apartment again if it were free, as it was a pleasure to live there and to deal with the hostess. Thank you very much, Lola!

A traditional Cave house, right on the cliff, located on the Caldera in OIA village, carefully & tastefully restored offering a unique experience of Greek summer style accommodation!
A carefully restored old cave house, in ones' of Santorini's most spectacular and beautiful locations, literally hanging on the caldera cliff, right underneath the old caste in the traditional picturesque village of Oia, 150 meters above sea level. Luxury, combined with style, amazing surroundings and a private outdoor whirlpool simply staring at an amazing sunset. Free WIFI, fully equipped kitchen, sat TV , DVD player. During summer season (APRIL-NOVEMBER), fresh breakfast is served every morning at your doorstep and there is cleaning service on everyday basis as well as luggage carry at the stairs. Also, you can enjoy every single moment of your stay in the privacy of your balcony. Cosiness, home-like feeling, personal service, attention down to the last detail. These are some of the values that inspired the concept of THE CAVE HOUSE RETREAT villa. To us, worry-free, quality holiday time means exquisite guest houses where visitors feel at home, far away from home.
The views from the terrace, the sun, being calm!
  • We have just spent 2 nights in this perfect cave house where we feel like staying in a luxury hotel throughout our stay. Panos helped arrange a reasonably priced transfer from the airport and a free porter service to carry our luggages for us which is not possible for us to carry ourselves otherwise. Panos was there to greet us personally and we were immediately impressed by the location and settings of the house. It has the best location for the sunset and while other visitors gather around the area for the sunset, you can enjoy it in your private jacuzzi and balcony :) Panos warmed the water for us so we were still able to use it (note: it is not a hot tub though) although the weather is a bit chilly in April. What I appreciate most is Panos's attention to details that you will find the facilities provided is 5-star hotel standard (I also stayed in Kirini hotel so I can tell) such as the coffee machine, in-room breakfast, daily cleaning service, towels, etc, except that you don't get a 24 hrs room service, obviously. The location of the house is very near to the main part of the village and there are some good restaurants nearby. Panos was very helpful to answer all my questions. I would really love to recommend this place to anybody who is looking for a cave house to stay in Santorini. I guess the price for a corporate hotel of the same quality should be much higher.

    Simon2015-04-06T00:00:00Z
  • Such an amazing apartment. The view is just stunning. The perfect spot to watch the sunset. In fact, we spent most of our time on the island there. With a view like that, there really wasn't much need to go anywhere else. We had a wonderful time here and everything went smoothly. Panos was very helpful with anything we needed. I would definitely recommend staying here.

  • Wow! Such a beautiful place. I can't imagine a better place to stay in Oia. The cave home was very comfortable and the views were spectacular. The home was very clean and cared for with all the amenities to make one feel at home. The host Panos is exceptional and very informative and responsive.

    Robin2015-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • This is the best place to watch the sunset! Panos is very helpful and nice, he arranged everything for is. Highly recommend this cave house. It's perfect from inside to out!

  • Our stay at sunset cave house was incredible. Panos is really great host. He can arrange for you everything you want, transfers, boat trip or reserve a table at the nearby restaurant. He gave us really good tips on great restaurants which was just 5 minutes walk from the house. Great is that he has personal experience with everything he recommend. The house was cleaned everyday by really kind maid lady. She was also preparing great breakfast and was very flexible with time of breakfast (one day was served at 7:30 am). The view is propably one of the best you can get in Oia. Definitely recommend and would come back again :).

  • Easily the best hotel/apartment/hostel we have ever stayed at, by a long shot! Absolutely impeccable apartment - we actually discussed with my girlfriend how we would love to build a house *exactly* like the one we stayed at, just unbelievably beautiful and well equipped, and clean, and comfortable --- perfect. The view was breathtaking, but coupled with a private jacuzzi made it otherwordly, absolutely stunning. I can't speak highly enough of the apartment/cave house, I doubt we will EVER stay anywhere as perfect - unless we come back of course! Panos was also extremely helpful and attentive with everything, couldn't have been friendlier! An absolute MUST if you come to Santorini. Even if only for one night, it was the best decision we've ever made.

    Anton2013-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • Really great location, with an amazing view, especially for the sunset! Panos is really prompt with replies and gave us great recommendations. And all is team was very helpfull. I highly recommend to stay here in Oia.

    Benoit2013-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • I can't recommend this house enough. Panos was great to work with - he was very responsive, set up a transfer to and from the airport, and recommend and set up other activities during our stay in Oia. The house is unbelievably nice. We were there for five nights for our honeymoon and explored the town a fair amount - and this house has one of the best most private views of the sunset. Staying in Panos's cave house was a highlight of our honeymoon and I would highly recommend it.
