Places to stay in Winterbourne Stoke
The (self-contained) Bothy is a separate studio annexe away from the main family house. We provide a microwave but don't have full cooking facilities. The Bothy is cosy and is on the small side if three adults are sharing. We are a family who love to welcome people into our home and enjoy sharing our garden. Stonehenge World Heritage Site and right on the top of Iron Age hill fort, Vespasian's camp. Stonehenge is 5 mins drive. Amesbury is a short walk away with several shops and restaurants.
The Bothy consists of a bedroom with a double bed, a sitting room with pull out sofa bed (please let me know in advance if you would like to use this) and a bathroom with a shower. We have tried to make it ‘home from home’ rather than a hotel. We welcome children if they are happy to sleep on the sofa bed or a travel cot (we ask you to bring your own) can be set up in the sitting room, although space maybe tight. Please let me know if you would like to use the sofa bed. It is cosy with three adults staying. There is high speed wifi for people who need to stay for business and a table to work at. I have provided a Tassimo coffee machine, kettle, toaster, microwave and small fridge. I also provide a very simple breakfast - toast, butter, jam, marmalade, cereal, milk, tea and coffee. If you want a full English breakfast I can highly recommend Friar Tuck cafe in Amesbury.
Amesbury and the surrounding area has so much to offer - Shops, restaurants, pubs, supermarkets are a short walk away. Salisbury and District Angling club has fishing on the river at the end of the garden which can be accessed five minutes walk away. Many historical sights are within easy access from our house.
  • The space was just as advertised and Pippa was very welcoming.

  • Very comfy place in a great location. A very short drive from Stonehenge visitor centre. We had a short stay, 1 night. Can't be compared with the sterile atmosphere in hotels! We enjoyed the cozy and warm atmosphere, even spent some time in the garden watching the sky at night. Beautiful! Good vibes!

  • My boyfriend and I had a lovely stay ! Fiona was very welcoming and offered us an homemade loaf of bread! The place was extremely clean and cosy !

  • We had a great stay! The communication was great and was given simple and detailed directions. The welcome pack / breakfast - included local fresh bread, a lovely touch that created a memory. Comfortable bed and accommodation. Super cosy! Beautifully thought out ... We received a warm welcome and were given so much privacy, which we appreciated. Our dog was welcome, which we very much appreciated. I would highly recommend. Thank you so much!

  • Very convenient base for visiting Stonehenge and also Avebury and Old Sarum near Salisbury. Easy check-in and friendly helpful hosts. The accommodation is clean and comfortable, just take care not to bump head on sloping ceilings and take quick showers. For people with mobility issues the steep access stairs would not be suitable. A lovely breakfast hamper was provided with homemade bread which was a lovely thoughtful touch. No TV signal but a good selection of DVDs to relax with on a winter evening. We ate one night at The Boot Inn in Bewick St James about 10 minutes away, the food was good and fairly priced. The pub was very quiet on the evening we ate there but that might have been due to the imminent arrival of storm Ciara. Would stay again if visiting the area.

  • Lovely, clean and well laid out accommodation for our weekend visit to Stonehenge ( only a few minutes drive away) and Salisbury. The communication with Fiona was great and she provided clear instruction on how to get to the house and check in which made it very easy. We appreciated the extra touches of homemade fresh bread and the offer for a late check out for a Sunday lie in. Would highly recommend!

    Alex2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean and nicely decorated accommodation. Lovely to have fresh bread and a bit of breakfast provided for the morning. Also easy parking. Second person had a slightly cold shower but otherwise all was good.

Room to let in the centre of Amesbury, lovely little cottage close to all amenities, family run and very friendly, use of kitchen ,shower room and bedroom.Wifi included
Close to Stonehenge only 10 mins drive, lots if local restaurants and local history within walking distance
  • This is a nice little cottage in a great location within easy walking distance of shops, pubs and places to eat. A really nice touch was that Sharon provided tea, coffee and milk and a selection of breakfast items as well. The only minor downside was parking is sub-optimal (on the pavement) but not a big issue during the week when I was there. Great communications and decent wifi and NowTV provided as well.

    Justin2020-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • Sharon and her mother were extremely kind and the room, as the whole place and amenities were excellent. Above expectations! I recommend it for those who are visiting the Stonehenge and surroundings.

The Tack Room is a lovely cosy space in a concerted stable barn. The room has a comfortable bed and plenty of storage facilities.
The room affords guests access to an adjacent large communal kitchen and wash room equipped with two power showers and 2 wash basins. Communal laundry facilities are also available (2x washing machines and 2x tumble driers). Guests are recommended to bring a dressing gown and slippers for the short dash to the washrooms.
Situated on the edge of the Stonehenge World Heritage Site, a visit to Stonehenge is a must. There is plenty of other places to visit with Scotland Lodge Farm in easy reach of the historic town of Salisbury with plenty more besides.
  • A nice surprise: a rather spacious room in a riding farm, with a comfortable bed. The toilets (on the same corridor) are common as well as the showers and the kitchen for which you have to go out. It is 4 km from Stonehenge. Very convenient to many points of view.

A very comfortable double room with king size bed. Scotland Lodge Farm is located a "stones throw" from Stonehenge. The Stables has a combination of double and single rooms together with a well equipped kitchen and adjacent wash room. There is ample parking and the freedom to enjoy the 50 acres of a working livery yard. Stonehenge is on our doorstep and is in easy reach by car or on foot. There are some great country pubs within easy reach catering for a variety of tastes and budgets.
All guests are given their allocated room and have access to joint bathrooms, kitchen and shower/washroom.
Scotland Lodge Farm is located on the A303 on the edge of the World Heritage Site. The farm is in easy reach of a good range of local pubs that cater for the full spectrum of guests needs.
  • A great place to stay. Lovely property, very comfortable bed and exactly what we wanted.

    George2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • My friend and I needed a last-minute place to stay. The room was affordable and clean and Frank was very friendly. The bedding was very high quality which was a touch we appreciated + there was an obscenely large television which we very much enjoyed. We couldn’t hear the motor way at all and we slept really well. If you’re coming by car, make sure you get instructions from Frank before you set off because the postcode takes you to a lay-by. (Frank was very helpful when we got lost!) You have to leave the building to shower so bring flip flops! All in all, as promised.

    Eliza2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Impeccably clean, spacious and with the added touch of a huge flatscreen TV. Conveniently located 20 minutes cycle (or probably less than 10 minutes drive) from Stonehenge. Would recommend!

    Oscar2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • This place has been a great find for me, will definitely be returning for work and to use the Yurt as this is an exceptional place for a family stay. Many thanks Frank!

    David2019-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Frank's accommodation is fantastic in everything: space, comfort, cleanliness, cozy, and it can also be said that the room had a super tv. The place, despite having small difficulties to find it (it is what has the ideal places) is surrounded by magnificent green fields full of pure nature, where pure air is breathed. Highly recommended!

  • My family and I had a very enjoyable stay at Ali's house during our 2-day trip to Salisbury, Stonehenge and Bath. The place is in a beautiful location on the outskirts of the tiny and peaceful village of Wylye. The house was really clean and beautiful, with a lovely garden. Ali was very welcoming and friendly, and she made sure we had everything we needed for a pleasant stay.

Our home is in a quiet village location, 5 minutes drive from Stonehenge Visitors Centre on the edge of Salisbury plain. A car is essential, and you can park on our drive. We are husband, wife and well behaved dog. We will be there to greet you, and will be available all the time you are with us. Ours is a lovely family home, and you will have access to most of it. We will provide tea/coffee and toast. We are happy to help you plan your time and advise on places to visit.
Our house is a bit like the Tardis, (reference Dr Who tv show) bigger inside than it looks from the outside. The bedroom and bathroom is for your private use and the bedroom has recently been decorated.
We live in a quiet, rural area. There is a late night Co-op (mini-supermarket) in Shrewton and once a week a fish and chip van in The Plume of Feathers pub car park. As you can see, all mod cons! The A303 is 10 minutes away. Amesbury has large supermarkets, pubs and restaurants and is 6 miles away. The M3 and M4 are about an hour away respectively.
  • Extremely friendly owners, beautiful house, lovely dog, everything you need in your room, and in the kitchen. Can't think about better place to stay in this area. I was feeling as good as in my own home.

  • Go to Christine's house and her husband. Very welcome, very good location to visit Stonehenge. Clean, very good breakfast, I recommend this rental to all.

    Karine2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Christine and Eddie are amazing hosts and made me and my son feel so welcome. We have had a wonderful stay with them and can recommend them wholeheartedly. Our room was lovely and had Sky TV, so my son was in his element! It was also great to have access to breakfast when we needed it. They are both very thoughtful and helpful, nothing is too much trouble (and their gorgeous dog Daisy is an absolute delight!).

    Helen2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • The most beautiful place we have been through AirBnB. The house is sparkling clean, quiet and decorated to top standards. The location is brilliant, just a few minutes drive from Stonehenge, ideal for an early or late visit to the site to beat the crowd. The surrounding area is incredibly beautiful, worth to spend a few days just to explore. Finally, Christine is adorable, always available for any need or question and provides excellent breakfast in the morning. You really could not ask for more. Totally recommended.

  • Lovely spacious, comfy and clean room. Christine was a wonderful host greeting us with an ice cold drink after a long drive. Perfect for a stopover when we were driving from Cornwall, but also a great location for Stonehenge if you wanted. Thank you Christine!

    Kate2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Christine and Eddie are such a great couple! We loved talking with them about life in England vs the USA. Their house is lovely, and we rested well on the comfortable bed. They also provided breakfast and plenty of tea, which was a great start to our morning. Their house is a very short drive from Stonehenge. Be sure to visit the stone circle at Avebury as well (about 30 minutes from Christine's house).

  • Really nice little hut, great views and hot tub fantastic.

    Ben2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Such a great location, private, yet Fiona is on hand should you need anything: a view to gaze at, a super comfortable bed: lots provided for breakfast. Should you wish to be energetic, there is the swim spa (which I now know is a hot tub big enough to do swim strokes in, heated to a very pleasant temperature) It was raining and blowing when I sampled it, and the water was so warm that with shoulders under the weather could do what ever it wanted, I was happy!

    Peronel2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • The Shepherd's Hut is beautifully situated with views overlooking hills and the river Avon. I cannot put into words what first took our breath away, the views, the clean and welcoming hut or the barn owl hunting in the field next to us. Inside was clean and cosy and the smell of the freshly baked loaf of bread was very welcoming. The fridge was stocked with more then expected with eggs, bacon, a choice of milk , juice and jams. The water was hot and the cooking facilities worked well and the bed was very comfortable. There was informative information regarding local amenities and we enjoyed a delicious meal in the local pub The Wheatshef, following the directions left in the hut. The hot tub was a glorious end to a long day exploring Stonehenge, the water was a wonderful tempreture and you can enjoy a heaven full of stars on a clear night. It is tucked in a peacfull and private corner of the garden. It is also only a 15 minute drive from Stonehenge and 20 minutes from Sailsbury. We throughly enjoyed our stay at The SHepherd's Hut and would be very happy to return.

    Philthy2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely time at the Shepherd's hut, the location was beautiful and the hut was so cosy. Having private use of the hot tub which is just behind the hut was great, and Fiona had left us some delicious homemade vegan bread. We would definitely stay here again, and would like to come back in the Summer.

    Nicky2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful little hut in a nice quiet area! Perfect getaway to relax and unwind, swim spa was great too! Will definitely be coming back!

So many thoughtful touches and what a comfortable bed. Highly recommended and would love to return for longer.

  • We had a wonderful stay at Ali’s place. Her communication was outstanding from the off, she welcomed my 6 year old son and I into her home and we had such a relaxing time. The garden is beautiful and we enjoyed sitting out and reading in the hammock early evening. Ali booked a table at the local pub for us which was perfect, and gave us lots of tips of places to visit the next day. Thanks again, we had a perfect stay.

Perfect temperature and we watched the sunset which was beautiful as the scenery surrounding the cottage is just stunning. Breakfast in the morning was lovely too with the option of cereal and fruit with an optional cooked breakfast, Fiona gave us tips and directions on what to do nearby and made sure we started our day off well. Could not recommend enough and I will definitely be returning as soon as it’s free ! No wonder it’s normally booked up !

They also catered for our 2 year old daughter by providing a small cot for her to sleep in. Jus as good as advertised and very close to Stonehenge which was an added plus.

  • Natalie is super kind, and her mom helps look after the place and is very caring and attentive. Natalie's communication is great. I have an allergy to something that was at the flat- it wouldn't bother many people, but I had to leave, and Natalie was very understanding and supportive. The space is spacious, accommodating, beautiful, and represented a great value. I would recommend it to others.

The Mongolian Yurt @ Scotland Lodge Farm is a beautifully handmade, tranquil space for off grid accommodation and relaxation. The yurt contains a double bed, sofa bed with access to a well equipped kitchen and shower/toilet room. There is no electricity or WiFi. This is a true break from the high pace of life. The yurt has its own out door dining area together with a beautiful and secluded barbecue, and relaxation area with its own fire pit that overlooks the Stonehenge World Heritage Site.
The yurt is set on a 48 acre equestrian farm, located on the A303 on the outskirts of Winterbourne Stoke with two pub/restaurants and a farm shop within a 20 min walk. Stonehenge is 2.7 miles in walking distance, Salisbury is 10 miles. Bath and the South Coast is one hour’s travel by car. London 1.5 hours away. The yurt positioned in a wood line overlooking a beautiful valley that looks over the Stonehenge World Heritage Site. This secluded location is ideal for those that want to get away from the fast pace of life and a base from where to explore the wonders of Stonehenge and the wider World Heritage Site. The accommodation includes a separate odd grid bathroom and kitchen facility. The yurt has its own outdoor dining facility and secluded barbecue and fire pit area ideal for relaxing throughout long summer evenings. For later in the year, the yurt has its own wood-burning stove to create a snug and cosy environment in a terrifically Romaric woodland setting.
Located in a world heritage site not only do we live amongst one of the countries most popular tourist attractions - stonehenge, but we are fortunate to be near beautiful cities, national trust properties and sites of historic and cultural interest. Without travelling far you will have plenty of options to keep you busy, alternatively simply relax and enjoy the fabulous yurt in farm surroundings on the edge of the Stonehenge World Heritage Site.
  • Beautiful place in a stunning location. The yurt was beautiful and it was very refreshing to have no electricity! Frank was incredibly welcoming and we wish we stayed longer! Would definitely recommend staying here- it was peaceful and relaxing.

    Owen2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • A true retreat into the countryside surrounded by beautiful cornfields. Our site was completed with plenty of parking, a lovely dining area and an outdoor fire tiered spot overlooking the countryside. The location was peaceful and private but with easy access to the A roads and a short drive to Stonehenge. The yurt was beautiful and immaculately clean. Spacious and considered and surprisingly warm and toasty. This was also helped by a wood burner which was a real treat. All other amenities were brand new including an outdoor fitted kitchen and gas fired shower which was boiling hot. Just right. Frank was kind and welcoming and on site if needed. We felt very at home at our yurt and will definitely return.

  • We have had a very beautiful time at Lou's place. The beds were very comfortable and the tents had a lot of space provided. It was super clean and a remote area, with horses and fields around us. But there is also a large street and within minutes you can see Stonehenge. Everyone we met was absolutely helpful and friendly. We would definitely recommed this place and come back. Thank you for this great place to stay!!

  • A great location for a peaceful getaway. We were staying 2 nights for a wedding in Salisbury then Amesbury so the location for that was brilliant. We were greeted by Benjamin on the drive and shown round the cottage. Though it was very close to his house and garden the space still felt private. The bedroom and sun room had great view over the surrounding fields and even a lovely space to sit and watch the stream.

    Craig2019-08-25T00:00:00Z

  • Expect a very warm welcome to Finch Cottage which is a hidden gem in Wiltshire. We arrived after walking from Stonehenge (highly recommend that walk) and immediately felt at home like we were visiting old friends. Karen and Eddie are truly wonderful hosts and it was a joy to share their space for a short time. Our stay exceeded our expectations massively, and the bed and pillows are amazing. Finch Cottage is in such a great location in Wiltshire for visiting all the ancient sites and not far from Salisbury either. Highly recommended!!

    Richard2019-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • This place was just what we wanted, the pictures do not do it justice. It was surround by the most perfect and quiet English countryside. Unfortunately, we were unable to meet Julia but Antony was welcoming, personable and very kind. The kitchen and bath was well stocked and clean. The bedroom was clean, the beds, pillows and linens were comfortable and easily accommodated our family of 5. The wifi worked well for all 5 of us and I would suggested gathering your map information before you leave the house as service is less than desirable in the surrounding areas as we expected. We have 3 children 12, 10 and 7. Antony made them feel just as welcome as the adults and the kiddos loved playing with those sweet pups. Plenty of cute little pubs to try around the area and Antony is more than happy to offer suggestions. Stonehenge was an easy drive and we were able to spend the remainder of the day in Salisbury, which I would absolutely recommend, the cathedral is amazing. We had an outside fire one evening and had plenty of firewood to use. I would definitely recommend staying here and I hope that we may return in the near future.

The House is conveniently located in the beautiful village of Shrewton. It has a garden with seating, in the summer and off street parking for 2 vehicles. There are three bedrooms, two double bedrooms , One downstairs, and a twin room with two singles upstairs. There is a double room with ensuite bath and shower room, a downstairs bathroom with a bath and an additional upstairs bathroom with shower.
It has large fully equipped kitchen, with dishwasher, pantry and utility room which leads to a bright living/dining room. The cottage has high speed broadband and a smart TV. There is spacious back garden which is fenced. We do allow dogs, at an additional cost, all we ask is that you clean up after them and they don’t go on the furniture or beds.
There is easy access to the cities and towns of Salisbury, Southampton, Winchester, Bath and Marlborough, and we are close to the A303 – the main route to the West Country. We recommend that you have access to a vehicle whilst staying with us, due to our location and public transport not being very regular through the village!

  • Myself and five girlfriends stayed at Karen and Eddies place for a escape to the country side! Could not recommend enough, we had such a lovely time! The B&B is spotless, lovely finishing touches and both Karen and Eddie made us feels so welcome! The B&B is in a great location, 5 minutes from pubs, 45 minute walk to Stonehenge and only a short drive into the town! If you are thinking of staying here... you should!!

  • This is a fabulous rental in glorious countryside midway between Salisbury and Stonehenge. We had a party of 4, an elderly Uncle, teen daughter as well as ourselves and that this accommodation got a huge "thumbs up" from us all is a testimony to the comfort of the rooms and the warm and welcoming hosts. Highly recommended!

  • Karen and Eddie were such lovely hosts, they went out of their way to make us feel at home, accomodate our gluten and dairy free guest, and even booked us a table at the local pub for dinner 1 evening. We would highly recommend for a peaceful and idyllic stay close to stonehenge and the surrounding area.

The breakfast served in the morning was fresh and with variety of options. Ths place is also very close to Salisbury Cathedral as well as Stonehenge. I cant wait to visit them again with my family. • Thank you very much to Charlotte for the toys lent to our children. This contributed enormously to the smooth running of our stay. The place is typical and charming. Quiet and very close to Stonehenge, Salisbury, Bath, Peppa Pig World ...

    André2019-11-21T00:00:00Z
  • Its hard to write a review of Charlotte's place, It's a lovely place to stay, quiet, a good space for a couple with a small family, hosts are very responsive and helpful. I enjoyed it there and would stay again (if I'm allowed!)

    Paul2019-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • We had a very nice stay at Charlotte's place. The house is perfect for a family, and Charlotte is very nice and friendly. If you plan to visit Stonehenge, this is a perfect address where to stay!

    Emilien 2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Very friendly and helpful hosts. Comfortable self contained accommodation. It was good to have basic provisions provided. We enjoyed sitting in the courtyard garden.

    Dave2019-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • This rental ticked all the boxes. Charlotte communicated so well that we found it easily. She was there to greet us and show us into an elegant, well-appointed and spotless place. The kitchen and bathroom, besides being spotless, were much better than the typical AirBnB bare-bones accommodation. The bed was comfortable, and the night quiet made sleeping easy. We celebrated the wealth of space and privacy, and the location was perfect for wandering Salisbury, Stonehenge, and the New Forest. I can't think of a single thing to suggest for improvement.

    Elizabeth2018-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • I had a great 2.5 month stay at Charlotte & Charles' place in Shrewton. I enjoyed many evenings sitting outside in the lovely garden area and there is a gate from the garden which gives access to the fields at the back, which is a lovely walk. Charlotte & Charles were so welcoming and kind, and I enjoyed getting to know them. Their adorable cat, Spice, came to visit me sometimes. The annex is clean, quiet and the internet is very good & reliable (I work online so that was important.) All in all, a lovely stay. Thanks & look forward to coming back some time!

    Anna2018-09-05T00:00:00Z

  • You can expect an excellent service from Merrick when you stay.

    Jan2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • The barn is a small and cozy place with all the facilities you need. The beds are very comfortable, feather pillows and good quality linen. The estate is beautiful and the grounds the barn is on was for our sole use which was lovely, outside seating and for our trip sunshine which made it perfect. In colder weather there is a fireplace and ample wood to make it a very snuggly place. Lydia and Merrick (the hosts) were both utterly charming and very helpful. They have another larger rental which comes with the use of a pool which was superb, so for larger parties, a definite consideration. I would highly recommend and happily go back. So peaceful, we left feeling regenerated. Jacky

  • WOW! What a perfect place to stay! From our arrival to our departure, we experienced true English hospitality and kindness. Sue is truly a super host, making sure that we were comfortable at every turn! If you come to Great Wishford and don't stay here, you've short changed yourself!

    Heidi2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • This quaint cottage is in a beautiful village setting and the thoughtfulness of the hosts means you feel like guests in a family home, rather than renting a property. It is ideal for a quiet family break and the location allows you to explore many great places in the region - being just a short drive from Stonehenge and Salisbury. We spent 3 nights relaxing over New Year in this peaceful setting. The property has everything you need and lots of thoughtful touches to make your stay memorable. Thanks to Sue & Tony for being great but unobtrusive hosts.

    Louisa2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful area and lovely cottage

    Tracy2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • This is an excellent location for touring sites in Wiltshire and neighboring areas. It is located in a quiet village, yet is accessible to main roads within minutes. Having a nice pub just across the road was an added bonus.

    Susan2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Sue’s cottage is a really lovely place to stay if exploring the Salisbury area. The location in a pretty village right next to a pub and walking trails is fantastic. The house itself is a little outdated but was expected of an old cottage, and it totally served our purposes well. Little touches like milk, bread and bacon was very welcomed, and Sue gave a host of fantastic recommendations of what to do in the area.

    Rebecca2019-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Chequers Cottage is off the beaten path, but so close and convenient to access some of the best historic and entertaining sites in Wiltshire. Staying there feels cozy and quiet--a wonderful refuge to the hectic crowds we encountered at major sites in England in August!--and the village is lovely, with access to country walks and a delightful pub. Sue and Tom were engaging and thoughtful hosts, providing not only typical amenities such as tea and coffee, but extra touches that made us feel at home and completely stressless when we arrived. Not only that, but they went above and beyond to ensure that our stay included not only a place to sleep, but also encouragement to visit some of the best Wiltshire has to offer, and not just typical tourist destinations. We loved every minute of our stay.

    Katherine2019-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed 7 nights at Sue’s charming cottage in the delightful village of Great Wishford. The cottage has a decent sized living room, dining room and kitchen on the ground floor, with a toilet & shower on a split level landing. The 1st floor has a toilet & bath and three bedrooms; 2 larger bedrooms where we slept (two adults and two children) and 1 small bedroom with a single bed (room size might be suitable as a child’s room). The living room opens to an outdoor terrace area and the other part of the garden is on an uphill area. We mostly used the area to the side of the cottage which had a grassy patch with table, chairs and umbrella; a sweet walled garden and great sunny spot! The cottage was well equipped with everything we needed and we felt very much at ease and comfort staying here. The cottage and the village is full of character and the surrounding area is an example of idyllic English countryside! Lovely walks from the village and the pub nearby served good food, drinks and hospitality! The location was ideal for us to visit our relatives, but it is also very convenient to drive to Wilton, Salisbury, etc. There are so many places to visit nearby. All in all, we were happy with our stay and would not hesitate to stay there again in the future.

  • I can’t recommend Merricks’ place enough. Simply outstanding. A beautiful country house, lovely and thoughtful items left for us when we arrived. We felt welcome from the minute we arrived. Do not hesitate to stay here. We can’t wait for our next stay. I only wish there were 6 stars on AirBnB to give.

  • An absolutely charming home on some beautiful grounds. Merrick answered all my questions quickly and sent me very thorough instructions to find the house. He also left some thoughtful gifts which was a lovely touch. Check-in was very easy. One small issue with hot water I am sure will be easily fixed. An otherwise perfect stay and plenty of space for a group of 8.
