  • Really beautiful home with tons of art. We particularly enjoyed our morning before we left. Mario let us journal in the sunroom and it has a beautiful vibe!

  • Mario's place is Latin Urban. He has an artistic eye and he has done some really clever things to keep his construction project going forward without a lot of cost. My room was very comfortable, the kitchen was stocked and user friendly and the common space was actually nice to hang out in. Everything was clean considering the ongoing renovation. Mario is putting his heart and soul into the building, so if you are looking for something unique and cool at a great value, then go stay with Mario. I know I will be back.

2 Story Cabin sitting on a hill that looks over a hollow and small stream. Privacy abounds with nature surrounding you. It's the perfect getaway from hectic modern life.
Feel like you’re sleeping in the treetops in the private 2 story cabin. This cabin is built into the hillside to give you an amazing view of the hollow. Watch for deer, listen for turkeys or simply be one with nature. Sit by the fire pit and listen to the stream running along the property. If civilization calls, head out to Harrisburg for a great selection of restaurants or to go to a Senators baseball game on City Island. Or, spend the day at Hershey Park where you can ride world class roller coasters, see the local wildlife at Zoo America or build your own candy bar at Chocolate World. If the outdoors calls, the Appalachian Trail is less than 10 minutes away. You can fish the Susquehanna or numerous other creeks in the area. Or, head over to Little Buffalo State Park with its trails, lake and public swimming pool. If shipping is your thing, antique stores abound with Sledworks in Duncannon or Penn Ave Trading in Newport. Or, hit the outlets while you’re in Hershey. There are 3 grocery stores within a 15 minute drive from the cabin. Our cabin sits about 1/2 mile down a dirt road. We have another cabin a short ride down from that one that is also available to rent. But, both feel worlds away from each other. We live on the same dirt road so are always available if you would need anything. It’s important to note that this count is a sportsman’s paradise. You will hear shooting, not only from the range a few miles away, but from other areas as there are many hunters in this area.

  • Melvins place was beyond accommodating. Very private and very clean. It’s located in the country with with 2 major cities within 20 minutes driving distance. It was very clean with very nice touches. He was also very nice and always willing to accommodate. I would definitely stay there again when I’m back in town.

    Jonathan2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful stay! Everything was spotless and so nice.

    Emily2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was outstanding. Very modern. Quick responses from Melvin. Extremely clean. As other have mentioned, the tub was incredible. The huge bed was so comfortable. During our stay we woke up to a light snow and had a beautiful view from the back window. Highly recommend !

    Keith2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Loved staying at Melvin’s place. Amazing communication and easy access. When I walked into the space, I was stunned at the beauty of everything. Crisp and clean (I mean squeaky clean – no dust bunnies under the bed clean!). Very modern with lovely amenities. The lighting fixtures are so pretty and make it an even lovelier experience. I was expecting a double bed, but a comfortable king bed awaited me. Slept extremely well – soooo comfortable. Another surprise was the bathroom. Talk about a spa experience. Gorgeous standalone deep tub and nice pressured shower along with double sink and tons of space. Melvin even provided body wash in the shower. I would highly recommend staying with Melvin to any future guests. The location is extremely convenient to the main road, but also quite and private. In nice weather, I would have walked to the Dunkin Donuts down the street (but you don’t have to do that either as Melvin supplies coffee too!) Lastly – I was kind of worried about no TV or wifi in the space, but when I got there, no need to worry at all! Great cell signal and my unlimited data allowed me to launch my own wifi and stream my shows!

  • This is definitely the cleanest and newest place to stay in the Selinsgrove/Lewisburg area. This is my second time staying here and it is an easy drive to Bucknell. Melvin is quick at responding and check-in and check-out is so easy!

    Jazmyn2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • I just can’t praise these Hosts enough. The space was elegant and sparkling clean. It was so peaceful out there I forgot I was staying at someone else’s house. The bathtub is awesome. Mel & his wife were around if we needed anything but let us do our own thing, never intrusive. always friendly and courteous. My 3 year old loved the swing set out back and they were gracious enough to let us use it. We will be coming back! You guys are great :)

We love the beautiful creation and creatures. Lots of pretty birds and wildlife. You are welcome to take a stroll through the woods on one of the many trails.
  • Heritage House is a great place to stay, easy to find, and a beautiful back to nature getaway. David & Rachel are wonderful hosts, provide quick responses, and go out of their way making sure everything you need is provided. We will definitely come back!

    John2020-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely wooded setting with everything that we needed to cook full meals, be outdoors, sleep well, and have privacy. Thank you so much, David and Rachel!

    Susan2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • David's place was wonderful- perfect for a weekend away from the city! Everything was clean and David was always close by in case of any issues.

    Raquel2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • This place is cozy, wonderful, and secluded which was perfect for our wedding night. We didn’t need anything fancy, but it was so much better than we expected. I really appreciated the motion sensor lights that led up the stairs and the snacks that were in the kitchen. I can tell there is a lot of time and effort spent in making this place feel comfortable. I also appreciated the communication when David let me know they wouldn’t be home, which wasn’t a problem for us at all, just a nice gesture in case we had any issues. They let the door unlocked and a key on the table along with specific instructions. If you’re looking to get away from chaos and relax from the craziness of life, this is definitely the place to stay!

    Brenda2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Nice quiet place in the country. Apartment over garage, easy private access up outside stairs. Very clean and comfortable, nicely decorated. Just a few minutes drive to New Bloomfield and Newport, both charming historic towns. Would definitely stay again!

Basement apartment in a rural country setting, nestled between two mountains. We're only about 10 miles from Route 322, halfway between Harrisburg and State College. Make yourself at home in the spacious 1,040 square foot apartment. There's only one bedroom but if you're traveling with a family, the living room has plenty of room to spread an air mattress or two.
Make this your Home Away From Home! Enjoy watching the sheep and goats grazing in the meadow. If you look at the right time you may even see the farmer heading to the barn with milk pail in hand! There's a marble roller and train set in the basement, as well as a swingset outside that your children are welcome to use. Build a campfire in the fire ring and roast hotdogs and marshmallows for supper!
The beautiful Juniata River is approximately 10 minutes from here, with endless opportunities for fishing, canoeing, tubing or kayaking. Enjoy a sandwich or some really good coffee at the Walnut Cheese Nook just a mile down the road.
  • It was very nice and Wilson was extremely responses with great hospitality. It's in the country so you'll be able to see the country side on their goats! It was a great weekend with my girlfriend and the homemade cinnamon buns helped

    Daryl2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Wilson and his family were amazing hosts! The highlight of my stay was the continental breakfast they prepared for me: fresh fruit, homemade muffins, ground Honduran coffee, and fresh goat’s milk. (Yum!) A few amenities to note that were missing and could potentially impact a stay although for me it was fine: 1. Inconsistent cell phone reception 2. No WiFi (I think this is in the works so inquire) 3. No TV 4. No ironing board/iron (in the works/inquire) 5. No hair dryer (in the works/inquire) 6. Stove/Oven does not work (in the works/inquire)

This cozy cabin sits in the Susquehanna river valley right by the Susquehanna river. There are multiple state game lands nearby. Walk out the door and you are right on the river bank. The cabin is only a 25 minute drive to Harrisburg, 15 minutes to the Selinsgrove, and 30 minutes to Lewisburg. This serene cabin is perfect for "unplugging." Build a campfire and enjoy the river in the Pennsylvania mountains.
This is a rustic cabin with a large deck over looking the river , There is a Picnic table and fire pit outside for you to enjoy and relax. Easy access to the river to launch your canoes or kayaks if you want to go for a paddle or fish, There is a small boat ramp 1/4 mile south of the cabin as well if you want to tie up your river Jon boat right in front of the cabin.
  • Cute little cabin, well equipped kitchen in which we made several meals. Fire pit was amazing, the river view and deck were perfect. Very conveniently located off the highway. Gary thoughtfully provided bottled water for those unaccustomed to well water (which I love for showering- great on my skin!). Would love to stay again.

    Natalie2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was quaint and clean. A bit difficult to find the driveway off of the main road but that means that it’s private! Gary was very responsive and the space was accurately represented. Would stay again!

There's plenty of space around the fire pit for ghost stories and roasting marshmallows. You can dine outside under the pavilion on inside on the screened porch. If you decide to head out, we are right between the Susquehanna and Juniata rivers. The Susquehanna is great for fishing, while the Juniata offers great tubing, kayaking and canoeing. • By far the best Air B&B I’ve experienced. It is such a beautiful and unique place, an awesome property to explore and wonderful hosts. There were so many personal touches and thoughtful gestures by hosts, such as them offering personalized suggestions for things to do and tiny cakes with candles since it was my partners birthday. We will definitely be back and can’t recommend enough!

  • This old Texaco garage is awesome! There's tons of cool/unique things to see, we could've spent days just exploring the property! The swan, butterflies, and windchimes make this place magical. Instead, we spent our time touring the mountains on the Harley, which offered beautiful scenery. We will definitely be returning!

  • Excellent hospitality from a lovely couple. The apartment is located above their private garage. Very responsive hosts. The apartment is filled with antiques, spacious and It’s comfortable. We didn’t really explore the pond because it was 100 degrees outside. The property is beautiful regardless. If we’re in the area we will stay here again.

  • This property truly exceeded my expectations. Very cute and cozy! I went up there to record vocals for a few days by myself during the late Fall. I really appreciated the privacy, while still being 20 minutes from the grocery store, gas, etc. Host communication was great. For 1-3 people it's a great experience. Would absolutely return!

    Nick2019-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • Kristen’s place was great. It was exactly as described: cozy, remote yet not disconnected, comfortable, and clean. The cabin is a great value and a great way to unplug and get some rest while still having access to some modern amenities. Melissa was so kind as to put the heater on for us before we arrived so by the time we got there, it was warm and ready for us to kick back and relax. She was highly responsive throughout the stay, checking in on us every so often to make sure we had all we needed. Would highly recommend Kristen’s place, and hope to return at some point myself!

  • The Tiny Cabin was a perfect weekend away. We enjoyed walking along the creek and the walking trails on the property. Melissa, our contact on the property, had unlocked the cabin and started the heat prior to our arrival. The welcome materials gave easy-to -follow instructions about the heating and water systems in the cabin. We are planning on visiting again!

  • This cabin was everything we expected and more! We loved that we could cook up a storm and hide out for the long weekend. Some highlights were building a fire in the pit outside, the electric fireplace and the bed, which was maybe the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in. Susan was super responsive and took great care of us during our stay. I’m only sorry our stay wasn’t longer. Would highly recommend this location to others and am looking forward to coming back!

  • This cabin was an amazing place to spend New Year’s Eve! The cabin is beautiful, very clean, quiet, and all the amenities made it very easy to cook dinner. My girlfriend and I would definitely recommend this cabin to our friends and family.

    Connor2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • This cute/cozy cabin exceeded our expectations. It has everything you need to feel relaxed and unwind. The electric fireplace made it cozy and if weather permits, the backyard fire pit is a nice addition. Lots of supplies in the kitchen and bathroom in case you forget something and Susan and Randy will check in to make sure everything is alright. Definitely will come back and hopefully get to stay a little longer!

    Alison2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This is the most incredible cabin you will ever visit. The photos do not do it justice! It is an a very private area, so it is extremely quiet and peaceful. The place is full of beautiful pieces of art and sculpture that the host, John, has collected over the years, and they only add to the charm of it. The property around the cabin is also perfect to take walks. There are two huge flat screen TVs, one in the living room and one in the bedroom, so you can enjoy a movie or two. The lights are also controlled by Alexa which was fun to play around with, and the fireplace was also nice to use. The amenities provided exceeded expectations. There were plenty of pots, pans, and dishes, so we were able to cook meals easily each night. John also provided us bagels and croissants upon arrival, and stocked the fridge with some basic ingredients, which was above and beyond!! Overall, John was such a fantastic host, meeting us upon arrival to give us a basic tour of the place and make sure all of our questions were answered. If we had any issues, he responded super quickly. We can't wait to go back again!

    Elizabeth2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Came here with my boyfriend for a Valentine’s Day getaway and honestly was the best experience I’ve had using Airbnb. John is an AMAZING host and his place is so beautiful. If you are looking for that little cabin get away this is the place. It’s romantic and if you love nature you’ll feel right at home. We are already planning a trip back in summer to see the pool and the hiking nearby. Can’t stress enough how great our stay was.

  • Carol’s lodge was wonderful and I wish we didn’t have to leave! It was the perfect getaway for the weekend, with all amenities we could want plus all of the quaint homey touches. The location was superb, overlooking Sherman Creek while only minutes from a nearby town and restaurants. Carol answered my messages immediately and was very accommodating with check in and questions. We are so grateful we got to stay!

  • A very quiet and clean cottage for a quick getaway! Carol was very quick with responses and very helpful. We had a great time!

  • This is our third year in a row stay at this cottage. The owners are awesome and the cottage is in a great location.

    Ashton2019-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • This place was amazing. It managed to exceed my expectations; which were already high to begin with based on the photos and location. Carol is a true super host and has taken care of every need before it was needed. The cottage was immaculate, cozy, and private. It was an absolute joy to wake up and welcome the morning sitting with my coffee on the balcony overlooking the creek and hillside. The space lets in a lot of natural light and the open floor plan makes it feel way bigger than it actually is. The cottage is solid and well built. I found myself walking around simply admiring the craftsmanship and design. While it is feels isolated, it is a very short distance from necessities as well as the shops and eateries in downtown Carlisle. I will certainly be back.

We have 7 children and as a hobby, raise Dexter cattle on our 16 acre farmette. This is an attached two bedroom in-law quarters that has one full bath, a living room, kitchen and a large front deck overlooking a creek. There is a wetland area separating us from the small town of Loysville. It is only a short walk to April's Kountry Kitchen or a short drive to JD'z StationHouse Restaurant for any meals that you may want during your stay. At the end of our driveway is the Loysville Community Park.
A small town with a little bit of everything.
  • As others have noted, the place is sparkling clean. The weather was not great for us to enjoy the outdoors but the deck and patio were beautiful and inviting. The host family are very quiet folks and accommodating, providing coffee and water as well as nice bath amenities. We were in the area to visit family and the location was perfect, compared to driving 30 minutes to a hotel in Carlisle. Overall everything met our expectations and we would stay again.

  • Gerald's place was fantastic for a quick overnight for our young family of 4. The rooms are all a generous size, it is well stocked with toiletries and there were delicious sticky buns waiting for us for breakfast. Our toddlers especially loved waking up to the sight of cows and chickens out the windows. We hope to be back for a longer stay for a quiet retreat in the country. Seems like the perfect spot!

  • Beautiful setting, well stocked kitchen and refrigerator 👍

    Delbert2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • The hosts were extremely nice and responsive. The small touches they do just make the experience so much more enjoyable. They left us some cinnamon roles that were to die for. They also left us nice little bathroom basket with the essentials. Honestly you couldn't ask for nicer people. Great space with plenty of room and privacy. very secluded but also near town and there is a diner just a few hundred feet away. I will definitely be staying again. See you guys soon!

    Nathane2019-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, so big and spacious much better that I thought from the pictures. Very clean, didn’t miss having a tv we unplugged and played board games at night and sat on the beautiful front porch

    Allison2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful place to stay. The family was super gracious hosts and added thoughtful little touches to the house that eased our stay. Keurig coffee, tea, and hot chocolate is available for all tastes. There is a full kitchen with a beautiful pasture view. They included the menu to the country kitchen a short walk up the drive way for anyone not wishing to cook. Plenty of towels and other thoughtful amenities (like bandaids - which are so appreciative when you are traveling with kids!) The views and peacefulness are breathtaking. This is definitely the place you go when your soul needs to rest. A few cows braying over a backdrop of mountains and pastures and a cup of coffee on the porch isn't a bad way to start the morning. The stillness and quiet of the area (which is amazing given the host has children as well), penetrates your innermost being and calms a chaotic lifestyle. The neighborhood is quaint and runs on a time frame that is casual and deep. It is about a 40 minute, beautiful drive to Gettysburg and a few minutes to many hiking/biking trails. This is a place I will definitely return and spend more time.

  • Daniel was an extremely gracious host. We had an unexpected power outage, Daniel communicated quickly about potential solutions, although it was all resolved before the plan had to be implemented. Despite this hiccup, we had a great stay!

  • This is like my dream property. Besides the owners next door it's like you're completely isolated on this hilltop farm property. Owners were friendly but gave us privacy. I will come back again next time I'm in the area.

  • The family is warm and welcoming. The property is beautiful! The goats are friendly and entertaining. Children would love it! The house is perfect for a small family - a large eat-in kitchen, living and bath downstairs. 2 bedrooms and a large bath upstairs. You will get nice sunrises on the property.

  • What a joy in a day the city lost far away, hear children happy at play with no cellphones to sway from their running and games, growing up in fresh air under an open sky where that thing flying high is a hawk, not a plane. Where soybeans can grow with dirt down below, and when silence slips in you realize with a grin that the sound you just heard was your breath coming in.

    Richard2019-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • Daniel's place is fantastic. This was my first AirBnB rental and the bar has been set pretty damn high. He communicated well and quickly. His family was fantastic and welcoming. The property is safe and secure.

We absolutely adored the pup and the animals too. It was delightful to be away from the hustle and bustle. My son and I enjoyed sitting outside with the pup and looking at the stars in the clear sky. Highly suggest booking!

The space was clean and neat. Brendas directions for finding the cabin, using the gas and wood stoves and everything else we’re very clear. Can’t wait to come back!

This cozy cabin is located on 43 acres of wooded land, surrounded by hundreds of acres of mountain woods. Perfect place for a nature retreat. Hiking trails and small pond are on the property. There is an outdoor deck and a large screened-in pavilion, as well as a picnic grove, fire ring and a gas grill. It is only 3 miles from the small town of Newport and 2 miles from a large grocery store. It is 35 minutes from Harrisburg. The best of both worlds: convenience and seclusion.
In addition to the two bedrooms indoors, there are two day beds in the pavilion that can be used, weather permitting. The lower mattress of the bunk bed is a double and can accommodate 2 adults.
Newport is a small PA river town with a great coffee shop, health food store, healthy cafe, and some interesting stores including the Perry County Council of the Arts store featuring works of local artists. The Juniata River is close by for canoeing, kayaking and fishing. Host can recommend a great fly fishing guide for guaranteed results! Little Buffalo State Park is 10 minutes away with hiking, boating and a wonderful swimming pool.
  • We wanted a peaceful weekend away, and we got one! A comfy couch with a lovely view, a fireplace, a large bathtub, and a well-stocked kitchen was just what we needed. Being able to bring our dog (who loved exploring the property) was an added bonus. We spent the weekend reading, eating, and exploring the nearby state park and property. Would stay again in warmer weather, so we could take advantage of the outdoor pavilion.

    Matthew & Valentina2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Candie’s place was simply perfect. Tucked away on 43 acres of land, we truly felt like we had the forest to ourselves. The cabin was quaint and felt homie. We loved the porch looking out into the forest and the pond on the property was beautiful. We’re already planning on returning in the spring to enjoy the warm weather. Pro tip: visit the Farmer’s market/country store in town. Some of the best pies, pretzels, and baked goods I’ve ever had.

    Ben2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had the absolute BEST time at Candie's cabin! If you are looking for a serene and secluded getaway - this is IT! There was a grocery store only 2 miles away which is also a huge perk. The kitchen is stocked with all the utensils you need to cook, the living room is so cozy and the bed was super comfortable. My husband, two dogs and I stayed the weekend and truly wish we could have stayed longer - we will be back!

    Emily2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Candie was a fantastic host. She made the check-in and check-out very easy. The cabin was also provided with clean dishes, towels and bedding. We didn't need to bring anything, but food. Not only was the cabin great, but the property was a dog haven. Yes, we could bring our dog and she absolutely loved running around. She slept the entire day after we got back because she was so worn out. I would definitely go back, but maybe this time in the summer. There was a great little hiking path down to a pond.

    Kelly2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Came here for a weekend winter getaway for my boyfriends birthday. This place was perfect: quiet, secluded (but close enough to a super market and coffee shop!), and had everything we needed. Candie has set the place up so well with not much you could ask for. The kitchen was plenty stocked with the must-haves, the living arrangement was perfect for a couple, and the outdoor spaces were never ending for our high-energy dog. Since we did go during the winter, we didn’t get to take full advantage of the patios, we did love the walking loops conveniently on the grounds and the fire pit. In short, couldn’t have asked for a better quintessential woodland escape!

    Deslie2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Candie's cabin is the coziest, cleanest AirBNB I've ever stayed in! We loved cooking in the (perfectly equipped) kitchen, using the wood stove, and spending time in the gorgeous woods nearby. Fresh flowers were a lovely touch; the cabin itself feels very secluded, but is a short drive to grocery stores and other amenities if you need them. I'm already making plans with friends and family for a second visit!

  • Candie's Place was everything you expected. If you are looking for a cabin to get away, this is the right cabin for you. I love her decor of the house. It reminds me of the series "Stranger Things." Our husky Maya love roaming through the woods freely. There so much exploring to do around the house. you forget about social media. ( Seclusion at its finest) She even has board games to play with. Most importantly she has a beautiful pond you can hike too. Everything about this house was gorgeous.

    Susie2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is the perfect middle ground between quiet seclusion and accessibility. There is plenty to do on the 42 acre property and it is a short ride away from a nice grocery store and pharmacy. Little Buffalo State Park is a ten minute drive away and there are endless possibilities for outdoorsy day trips in the area. All in all very comfortable stay, very clean cabin, and the fresh cut flowers were a really nice touch.

We felt right at home and enjoyed the warm, open kitchen and gathering room as well as the lovely wooded land all around the house. Our family looks forward to meeting at Foltmountain again in the future!

Very quiet setting right off Route 322, 81, and 83. We sanitize. If you need estimates for distance, use the "Country Club of Harrisburg" on Fishing Creek Valley Road. We are very close to the Farm Show building. Brand new queen bed and Wifi. The apartment is part of our house, but it is well sound proof with separate entrance and code pad. We do not allow pets. And we are not child proofed.
The bedroom was newly renovated and the kitchen and bathroom updated. There is a brand new queen size bed and there's a small kitchenette and separate bath. See photos of kichenette. The apartment is part of our house. The entrance is separate with a keypad so that guests can come and go as they want. There is one small step into the house, but no stairs. There is a front porch and a back patio to relax. There is an extra heater and AC. There is a shower but no tub.
The house is up the hill. There is one small step into the house. The house is surrounded by peaceful woods and a safe secure quiet setting. Sometimes the deer are in the back yard. There is a manual with some pamphlets about the area. The neighbors house is a little old, but she is very nice.
  • Great place for the price. Small, quiet and peaceful for a get away weekend! Will definitely look at this place again.

Whether you are traveling through Central Pennsylvania or choose to spend some time in the beautiful Susquehanna Valley we would love to be your hosts. Our home is just 4 miles south of Selinsgrove in the country, a quick 7 minute drive to Selinsgrove where Susquehanna University calls it home. Downtown Selinsgrove has a variety of restaurants and shops, and a town square which is host to a Farmers market throughout the summer into fall and various events thru the year. ALL ARE WELCOME !
Our home is an 1890 farmhouse that has been renovated and updated. We live on 4 acres in a rural setting 4 miles outside of Selinsgrove in the borough of Freeburg. We enjoy the quiet of the country setting. We have a large wrap around porch to sit and enjoy a good book, glass of wine, or just to listen to the water in the fish pond or the Susquehecka Brook that is in the backyard. We offer two private guests rooms upstairs with the private full bath downstairs. One guest room has Queen size bed in addition to wall mount television and a small refrigerator to store drinks etc. The other guest room has a Full size bed. Linens are provided for both rooms. If you have forgotten any toiletries, we have you covered as well as towels for the bathroom. We always like to provide breakfast for our guest however if you have any dietary restrictions, we can accommodate and ask that you let us know what they are. We try to have the pool area open Memorial Day weekend but are sometimes controlled by the weather in getting it opened. The weekend after Labor Day we try to close the pool, however again weather controlled. Sometimes it stays warm enough in September to keep it open longer. There are pool towels for your use, as well as a refrigerator to store drinks and food. Paper products also provided. We look forward to hosting and sharing our home with you and making you feel comfortable whether for a brief night stay or an extended stay.
We live in a friendly rural area with beautiful farmlands surrounding us as well as the Amish/Mennonite communities. You are never far from fruit and vegetable stands manned by the "honor system" We are in Central Pennsylvania, an hour north of Harrisburg, 2 1/2 hours north of Baltimore, 3 hours to Philadelphia, 3 1/2 hours to Pittsburg, and 3 1/2 hours to New York City. We are a 45 min drive to Williamsport, home to The Little League World Series, 45 mins to Knobels Amusement Resort, rated in the Top 10 Family Friendly Amusement Parks in the US, and who can resist Hershey Pa and Amusement Parks just an hours drive away. There are many hiking areas, boating /kayaking on the Susquehanna River, kayaking on Penns Creek. We have many wineries in our area as well as several craft breweries. It may be "small town" but there are many sights to enjoy.
  • Our second stay at John and Nancy’s lovely, comfy, sparkling clean home. We stay while visiting our daughter at SU. Nancy is always willing to offer refreshments or ideas on local restaurants and things to do and her breakfasts are yummy! The only downside for super light sleepers might be John’s crazy work schedule (he’s very busy!) but no complaints here. Except maybe that their cat likes my husband better than she likes me! 😿

    Valerie2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • I have been staying here since my daughter’s freshman year. Any time she travels for Water Polo I stay with John and Nancy. It has become like home to me. The most amazing people you will ever meet. And I feel at home always!

    Carol2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • Nancy is a wonderful hostess! The property, conveniently located near Susquehanna University, was immaculate and well appointed. We had run of the house and spent afternoon chatting during a snowstorm. Nancy also cooked a wonderful breakfast the following morning. We’ll definitely be back while our daughter is attending SU.

    Valerie2020-01-19T00:00:00Z

  • This has become a home away from home for my family and I when I travel to watch my daughter play Water Polo against Bucknell. Great hospitality, conversation, very clean, love their dog and cat. They have become like family to us and I always feel at home❤️

    Carol2019-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • This is the second time we stayed at Nancy and John's home. They go above and beyond during our stays making my family feel comfortable and welcomed while we were visiting ours son at SU. Their house is beautiful VERY CLEAN and comfortable ! Nancy makes the most wonderful breakfast. Highly recommended ! We will definitely be back.

    April2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! I was in town for a business trip and my stay with John and Nancy was absolutely perfect. Their hospitality went above and beyond anything I could have imagined. Nancy fixed a great breakfast and accommodated my keto needs. They have the sweetest dog and cat also. John and Nancy had a small fridge with waters and juice and also a snack basket. The bathroom was just at the bottom of the stairs which wasn’t an issue at all. I wish I could find such a great Airbnb everywhere I traveled to and look forward to staying with John and Nancy again whenever I’m back in town.

  • My husband and I spent our anniversary weekend at Karena's place. What a beautiful setting to spend a weekend. The gardens around the in-law suite are beautiful. The suite itself was remodeled with quality materials and was very comfortable. My husband and I enjoyed reading on the heated (and cooled) sunporch, watching football in the open living room and kitchen, and visiting area places such small local restaurants and Apple Butter Days at Little Buffalo State Park. It was a very relaxing weekend and we look forward to visiting again!

Rocky is a historic 1922 caboose at Fort Hunter Park. Imagine you are on the Orient Express! Next to the world's longest stone arch railroad bridge. On the riverbank for fishing or kayaking or incredible sunsets. We have bikes and kayaks. Not to be missed.
Rocky is a restored and enhanced 1922 wooden caboose. Amazing views of the river on the riverside deck, kayaking and fishing on the river, walks along the old Pennsylvania canal in the park beside Rocky. Your own private rail car on the Orient Express bound for a wonderful memory...
Google Fort Hunter Park or the Rockville Bridge. Search on witf radio site for upcoming events in Harrisburg. Search 'the burg riverhouse' to learn more of me.
  • Perfect location on the water front. Great for train lovers. Easy access to many great places.

    Sharon2019-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • The Caboose was a great weekend getaway! The hosts were very friendly and accommodating. We had great views of the river and the living space was very clean. I would highly recommend to anyone to stay here.

    Dan2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great time at Gary’s place despite the rain on our last two days. The caboose was a very unique and interesting stay. We had enough gumption to crawl up into the loft each night. I would imagine it would be quite difficult for someone less agile than myself; as it was pretty difficult for me. But, we insisted to do so, so that we could be part of the “whole experience.” Really explored the whole Harrisburg area as well as Carlisle, Marysville, and Lemoyne. Watching ALL the trains go by on the Rockville Bridge was a special treat for my husband who loves locomotives. Weather held out long enough for us to enjoy the deck and rocking chairs. Thanks again Gary! :)

    Jennifer2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay in the caboose. The location was fantastic and we loved the availability of kayaks and bikes. It’s a tiny house so close quarters and limited amenities should be expected but we had everything we needed. It is also very close to a relatively busy road so road noise can be a problem, but it is otherwise surrounded by a park and the gorgeous Susquehanna river. The host, Gary, was available but not intrusive and very welcoming. We were very happy with our stay.

    Morgan2019-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Gary offered a later checkout so we could further explore Harrisburg. The river views morning and evening were spectacular. A kayak adventure was exciting too! I'd definitely recommend to others.

    Amanda2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome place! Unique and beautiful views!

    Alyssa2019-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place for a relaxing weekend. Watching the trains cross the river from the porch and being so close to the water were great. This is also close to town so it's easy to check out restaurants, breweries, markets, and other interesting things. Kayaking on the river was also lots of fun. I would definitely stay here again.

    George2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • The Caboose was a really neat experience; especially if you love trains like I do. The restoration and renovation of it is much better than other's I have seen and very smart space wise. It is actually a little more spacious than I expected. There is some highway noise most of the time but we had no problem sleeping and the gorgeous view of the river and the historic Rockville bridge more than made up for it.

  • We had a lovely weekend here! Our dogs were welcomed and even had their own bedding provided. Many places say they are dog friendly but Kiley and Jon seem to understand the unique needs of traveling with big dogs. We loved hiking around behind the barn and saw several deer our first night. The bed was comfy and all accommodations were great. The lane back to the house is slightly longer than we expected, and the speedbumps are to be taken seriously! But we didn't have any problems, just take it slowly. We didn't get a chance to use the fire pit but hope to next time. Gracious hosts and a delightful home!
