  • Janie is a fantastic host, the room and hot tub were amazing.

    Ryan2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Janie the host was wonderful and the place really needs to be experienced. I can't recommend it enough. We loved it..

    Kate2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Had a terrific stay! Loved the place and Janie is a very respectful host.

    Jack2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, would recommend to anyone, just bear in mind you do have to step outside for a second after having a shower before getting back into the room so if you are staying in the winter months it may be worth bringing a thick dressing gown or something similar. The room was comfortable, clean, and unique, and the hot tub is a great bonus!

    Zaeed2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed here for valentines day and couldn’t of chosen a better place. The cabin is beautiful and very cozy. Hot tub and log burner was amazing and just completes the experience. Very close to alot of local attractions e.g Glastonbury and Wells. The host Janie couldn’t of been nicer or more helpful , gave us a tour of the place then left us to our privacy , however we never felt like we couldn’t contact her for advice no matter the time. All in all a great place to escape from the world for a few days.😊

    Glenna2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Very well put together and stylish cosy cabin. Hot tub on a cold evening in February was truly wonderful. Host was easy to get along with, helpful and full of local tips but also gave us plenty of space to feel private. Great stay.

    Emma2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • Such a lovely little gem only a stone's throw away from Glastonbury. The ideal location to unwind and relax with a great host and use of the hot tub and treatments. A must return.

Our beautiful studio room with en-suite offers accommodation for up to three people sharing and is available all year round. You can enjoy a selection of teas, coffee and hot chocolate in the room. Your booking includes breakfast. Contact me for room-only prices. Guests are encouraged to meet and feed the alpacas as part of their overall experience.
The architect-designed accommodation is situated on an alpaca farm in rural Somerset. The large airy room is part of an architect-designed studio/workshop. Alpaca fibre products are produced next door, on the premises. Guests are welcome to make use of a basic kitchen adjacent to the studio. There is a sink, fridge and microwave plus crockery and cutlery.
We live in a lovely village in rural Somerset. There is no pub in the village but there is a lovely friendly pub in the next village two miles away. There are few vehicles although we are on a bus route. There are no street lights so that at night you can see the stars. All this just three miles from the M5.
  • This was by far one of the best Air BnB experiences we’ve ever had! The studio was spacious, clean and very comfortable. Getting to meet, feed and learn about the alpacas was amazing and we’ll never forget this special experience. Thanks so much Joy for your outstanding hospitality.

    Jasmine2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful for a weekend away in the countryside! Lovely spacious room, very tasty breakfast and it was amazing feeding the alpacas. Joy is such a warm and friendly host, she made our stay into a real experience.

    Hannah2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect little holiday with me and my two girls, who loved getting up close with the alpacas. Breakfast was delicious and the studio was immaculately clean. Hoping to return!

    Esther2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here for our 5th anniversary (with our 7 month old baby in tow!). It was storm Dennis but we were so cosy warm and dry. It was bigger then I expected too so there was lots of space for our travel cot and playmat. The breakfast in the morning was delicious with jam made by Joy and eggs from her chickens. Meeting the alpacas was a wonderful experience (they are my partners favourite animal so such a treat for him in particular!). Thank you to Joy for capturing some lovely photos of us with the alpacas. Overall the whole experience was very memorable and great value for money.

    Kaiya2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Joy is a superb host, the studio is very comfortable and clean. Feeding the alpacas was great fun, even in the rain!

    Teresa2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • This was such a wonderful stay. The room was exactly what we expected and the cooked breakfast was amazing. Meeting the alpacas in the morning is a fantastic and unique bonus, and perfect for animal lovers. Joy is a warm and friendly host, and we would certainly look to stay again if we were back in the area. Highly recommend.

  • A beautiful little gem hidden away in the countryside and close to Glastonbury and a short drive from the coast. Perfect for a couple or two friends. Spotlessly clean and with some lovely finishing touches. We loved it that the key comes attached to a small torch for those darker evenings. Fabulous breakfast, the fresh fruit cocktail was amazing - I even took a photo so that I could copy it at home. Maureen was the perfect host, we loved our stay and have no reservations in recommending Orchard Cottage wholeheartedly.

    Anne2019-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely location with sunny garden / meadow views. The whole little apartment was sparkling clean, cozy and had wonderfully comfortable beds. Extra touches, such as the scones and clotted cream, on our arrival were much appreciated after our busy day, as was the enormous farmhouse breakfast we started the next day with. The beautiful strawberry, raspberry and blueberry fruit salad really was such an unexpected treat! Maureen is an exceptionally thoughtful hostess.

    Janet2019-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • Maureen is a kind and generous hostess running a sparkling clean and well appointed B&B room with very comfortable beds. The breakfast was abundant and delicious and we enjoyed watching the squirrels and listening to the birdsong in her lovely garden. Thank you so much for our stay.

    Sarah2019-05-12T00:00:00Z
  • Maureen is an exceptional host. We have never felt more pampered! A shower with the sun shining on you, breakfast like a King, cream tea on arrival, all the mid cons, comfortable beds, exceptional hospitality! Absolutely fabulous! 😝👍

    Karen2019-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • Maureen's place is surprisingly nice and in a quiet neighbourhood. Maureen is generous and a great host. It was a pleasure to watch the birds and squirrels steadily visit her garden. Maureen serves a wonderful breakfast. Our best recommendations.

  • A warm welcome will be had if you chose this airbnb. Maureen is a lovely kind host who will try to accommodate your requirement if you let her know in advance what you need / advice on locations etc. Beds are mega comfy and sleep came easy, followed by a heart and extensive breakfast. Our main bedroom was warm and had everything we needed for our one night stay. Definitely recommend to others if you want peace and quiet in a quaint little village.

    Sue2018-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • The place was amazing. Maureen made us breakfast and made us feel very welcome. This suite went over and beyond our expectations, it was very cosy and relaxing. We really loved the robes that she offered - that was really a cherry on top for us. There guest suite had a seperate entrace with a small garden. It was more than what we could have asked for at the price - Amazing value and I intend to come again.

    Khaleel2018-09-23T00:00:00Z

A private entrance from our car park leads to a downstairs kitchenette with sink, worktops, fridge, washing machine, microwave/conventional oven and an induction double hob. A large shower/toilet room adjoins. Stairs screened from our main kitchen lead to 3 rooms, with a light, airy bedroom, a large living/dining room, bathroom adjacent to each other. Rooms are very private and they all overlook our very large and peaceful garden, where you can relax around the pond or wander the large gardens.
The house is easily reachable from M5 and A303. Rooms are private and spacious, comprising: a living room with adjoining bedroom, a bathroom, all on the 1st floor of a separate wing of the house, with beautiful views of the large gardens. There is a downstairs kitchenette (screened off from our main kitchen) with fridge, washing machine, induction double hob, microwave/oven, toaster, next to a shower room/toilet, leading to a private entrance door. There is WiFi and internet in all rooms, and a TV with Netflix, etc. You have use of the gardens for your quiet enjoyment. You have off-road parking next to your own private entrance.
The village is on the edge of the Somerset Levels, a few miles from Glastonbury, and has two pubs, a 13th century Church, a good Supermarket and Post Office. The village is very near several nature reserves and these wildlife areas are popular with bird-watchers, walkers and cyclists. Wilkins Cider at Mudgely, and The Sheppey Inn at Godney are popular local destinations, and The Crown and the King William Inne are within walking distance from the house, with good food, ales and wine. Glastonbury is 7 miles away with the Tor, Abbey, alternative shops and mythical Avalon heritage. Historic Wells is within 10 miles with its wonderful Cathedral and markets, and Bruton is a beautiful drive, to visit the Hauser and Wirth Contemporary Art Gallery and restaurant and At The Chapel restaurant, as its main attractions.
  • We stayed three nights in this comfortable, stylish, spacious apartment. Lots of lovely touches such as fresh coffee, teas, milk, sugar, biscuits, fruit, condiments and even fresh flowers made the apartment feel homely. We really valued having the kitchen area (made breakfasts, sandwiches for lunch and one dinner). You can walk to the Crown pub for dinner (excellent pub food) and Cynthia gave us recommendations for other places (went to Sheppey Inn in Lower Godney, also very good). Great communication before we arrived and during stay. Very nice place and would definitely stay there again.

  • This is the best Airbnb we have ever stayed at. The guest house has everything you could need and lots of nice little touches. The Pool and Bar area will blow you away! The whole place is immaculately clean and decorated with real taste. My girlfriend and I stayed here whilst celebrating my birthday and it is a perfect place for an escape from the rest of the world. We can't wait to come back!

  • WOW ... what can I say about this stunning place. The family and I have just returned from a four day stay at Edington Manor and we miss it already. Everything pre arrival was dealt with perfectly and in great time by Jen the host. When we arrived we were shown around the grounds by the housekeeper and the annex where we stayed was immaculate and perfect for two adults and two teenage children. We were then shown into the pool area and when we walked in all four us looked at each other and all of our jaws dropped to the floor. The pictures look great, but when you arrive honestlu it's much better than the pictures woth every little extra added and the stairway down to the pool is simply stunning. We stayed in the pool/games area for on average five hours a day and we could've stayed longer . In the day we played tennis and spent quality time together as a family which my kids dont enjoy every day If you are a family looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life or a group of friends looking to chill out then this is the perfect retreat for you. I couldn't recommend it highly enough. Nigel and family x

  • Jen was really and easy to communicate to. The place was really beautiful and the pool area...OMG it was stunning. The pictures really do not do justice. It was so lovely and chilling. The Coachman's Flat is part of a third wing of West House, where we believe the servants quarters were. The room is a bright airy private room with windows both sides giving plenty of light. The house is on the edge of the village of Chilton Polden with beautiful views of the Mendips and the Levels and numerous interesting places to visit within easy reach. There is a further Air BnB room opposite this flat called The Footman's Flat and a tenanted flat beneath, all within this third wing.
We have lots of animals on site here - sheep and lambs; a pig; cats and dogs; chickens; alpacas and horses. You may well see some of these during your visit! We also have a gym on site - CrossFit Wyvern - with a variety of classes including yoga and pilates and use of the gym facility (please ask for details). A chiropractor works part of the week from our gym plus sports therapists (again please ask for details). In addition there is a beauty parlour offering a range of treatments "The Parlour"; a counselling service and a fantastic cafe serving treats and diet specific foods (Fuelled by Liv). You won't be bored!! If you would like breakfast you can visit the cafe (closed Wednesdays) to have a delicious breakfast cooked for you or you can place your order in advance and Liv will deliver your cooked breakfast to your room for a small additional charge. Coffees, lunches and some interesting drinks are on offer as well. Alternatively you may wish to prepare your own food and use the microwave, toaster, fridge and kettle that are in the room. There is a Smart TV for your use. Access to the Coachman's Flat is through a door shared with the ground floor flat and a further Air BnB flat up a stairs; private locked door to the Coachman's Quarters.
West House and The Coachman's Flat is set in a beautiful part of the country - Somerset - and set just up on the Polden Hills above The Levels with views across to the Mendip Hills where Cheddar Gorge and Crooks Peak can be seen with Brent Knoll and then Glastonbury Tor in the other direction (from certain angles!) There are several local nature reserves which are wonderful to walk around and the levels are teeming with wildlife and amazing sites such as the starling murmerations. If you travel across The Levels at night you will often see a Barn Owl. There are so many special places which are within easy visiting distance - Cheddar Gorge and Caves; Wookey Hole; Glastonbury and the Tor and Abbey; National Trust properties such as Dunster (and then on to Minehead and Exmoor), Montecute, Lytes Cary, Fyne Court plus stunning scenery across the Quantock Hills or Mendip Hills which are wonderful for walking or riding on; Burnham and Brean are unique beaches to visit and walk on; Wells is a quirky and special place to visit with a breathtaking cathedral and Bishops Palace. Also Bath with so much to see; West Somerset Railway, Bristol including The Bristol Hippodrome - and if you are here at the right time in November the Bridgwater Carnival is not to be missed! So much to do and see!

    Tracey2019-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had a brilliant stay here. We were down to go to Bridgwater which was about a 20min drive away but we ended up going all over Somerset. It is down a country road but it is easy enough to get to. The site itself is lovely. Lots of small farm animals to see. There is also a gym and cafe on the site but we didn't have time to take a proper look. Information about these was given to us in a booklet. The room itself was comfortable and we had everything we needed. Slept well no complaints. Host and family were very helpful. Parking available close to the outside door. Great place in a nice location would definitely go again

  • Met Rachael on arrival, such a lovely, friendly lady! We only stayed one night and it was beautiful! The room, bathroom and amenities were amazing! Absolutely gorgeous breakfast in the morning for us, left at the bottom of the stairs on a tray! Would definitely recommend this place to friends and family and will be coming again!!

  • Rachael and Ian’s place was gorgeous, the room and bathroom are totally self contained with its own entrance. It had lots of homely touches, the comfy armchairs, lovely cushions & if needed, throws to snuggle up with (Although the room was plenty warm enough). Was lovely place to relax after wandering the surrounding areas (Glastonbury & Wells). A large room and the high ceilings and sky lights give the room a feeling of even more space. The room had everything we needed and more and the breakfast was fabulous. Warm croissants, jams, honey, yoghurts, bread for toast, fresh fruit, so much we couldn’t finish it. A shame we only stayed one night but will definitely stay again if visiting the area. A lovely place to stay

The room was very clean and welcoming. The king size bed was very comfy ( the best night sleep we've had in a long time). Breakfast was lovely too with warm fresh pastries, toast, fresh strawberries and yoghurt. The room has it's own on-suit with shower and heated towel rail. Just the perfect place to stay. Definitely recommend this lovely family and there beautiful home.

A garden room in a country farmhouse. An ideal space for couples or singles who are looking for some fresh air and greenery. Ideal for birdwatchers, cyclists, walkers, artists, musicians and writers, or those who simply wish to explore the area. Pet lovers welcome - we have cats, and chickens. Fresh eggs! Relax in a four poster bed, enjoy the original artwork, wander around the flower garden, meet the cows in the farmyard.
This is a family home. It is also a working gallery of fine art. Guests will be expected to be out of the house during the day, and to provide their own transport. There is ample parking for cars. Bicycles may be brought into the house at night. This is a very low crime area. Please be prepared for children' paraphernalia and a certain amount of child related chaos. Please also be aware that there are free range chickens in the yard, and cats in the house. Dogs are not welcome unless they are Guide Dogs. There is no wheelchair access. You will have a share of the kitchen and access to your own shower and toilet.
Visitors come to this area to see Glastonbury Abbey and the Glastonbury Tor. These are 4 miles from the house, and the tor is visible from the house. Further afield we have Wells Cathedral and The Mendip Hills which are a centre for cavers and botanists. There is good cycling on the Levels, and Birdwatching at Ham Wall where the famous starling murmurations can been seen in the winter. In the summer there is the world famous Glastonbury Festival, which is 8 miles from here. The area around the house is predominantly pasture for cattle and there are many small fields with hedges and lanes. It's pretty. There are fishing lakes one mile from the house.

This semi detached house is in a rural location adjacent to the village cricket field and pavilion. We are very near to Ham Wall and Shapwick Heath Nature Reserves - havens for birds at all times of year. Glastonbury is 8 miles away. We're easily accessible for the beautiful Cathedral City of Wells, Frome, Taunton and Street, the home of Clarks Village Outlet Shopping Centre.
We share our home with 3 dogs. All are non-moulting breeds - a Springer x Poodle, a wire haired Fox terrier and a Bedlington terrier. The house is in a very quiet cul-de-sac and parking is on the road.
We are close to the beautiful Somerset Levels were wildlife is abundant. Glastonbury has it's famous Frost Fayre at the end of November and carnival season will soon be upon us
  • Good location, clean and Laura and Zed were really nice!

    Lily2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Laura and Zed are very nice hosts and they have four sweet dogs. The house is very clean and lovely arranged. We could use everything together. The region is very special (the Moor, Cheddar Gorge, the coast, Glastonbury and especially Shapwick itself). We had a great stay, thank you :)

    Vivian2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Laura's place was clean and comfortable and great for a short stay.

    Mark2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Laura’s home is a lovely clean and calm place to stay and pretty much the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in!

    Geri2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Laura's home is delightful. Impeccably clean, homely and welcoming. Communication was easy and the location for the rspb nature reserves was great. It's easy to find too. Breakfast was superb. I'd recommend Laura's to anyone, you would have to like dogs though! They're very friendly and playful, although responsive and well behaved.

    Joanna2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Expect a very clean place, affectionate dogs, and a great host.

    Erik2019-12-06T00:00:00Z
  • When I found Laura’s house I just knew that she was the perfect host for us, she was so friendly, her house is beautiful and we love her doggies as well. Laura cooked us a glorious breakfast in the morning too. We will definitely book Laura’s house again, lovely person, thank you for a wonderful stay x

    Helen2019-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • We really loved our stay here! Fantastic cottage, very spacious, super modern, clean and well-equipped throughout. Comfortable bed and lovely big bedroom. No noise issues at night despite being next to the pub, so we slept so well! Easy to park as well. Great location for the Somerset levels and beyond. Good communication prior to our stay, very clear instructions for arrival and check-in which made things very straightforward and easy. Had a brilliant week and hope to return!

  • Lovely property, clean and comfortable. The pub next door was great for food but very popular you need to book. Thanks for a great stay.

    Carol2019-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay in Polden Cottage. It was beautifully clean and very well equipped. We had the best night’s sleep on the comfortable bed and soft pillows. It really did have everything we needed during our time there. Lorna responded to any of my messages really quickly and we knew she was just at the end of the phone if we needed anything. We wouldn’t hesitate recommending it to anyone looking for somewhere to stay.

    Yvonne2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Lorna's place was fantastic - great, quiet, peaceful location with plenty of local nature reserves to explore plus nearby Glastonbury. Lorna was very quick to respond to messages, check-in was very easy and it was all helped by being next door to a great pub. Top class stuff!

  • I booked this place as I needed somewhere to stay for HPC. It’s minutes away from Junction 23 Park & Ride, so the location is perfect. The place itself was much better than I expected and was basically a small home. It was sparkling clean, with nice touches. The hosts were great and made me feel very welcome. I would seriously recommend staying in this place. Thanks again, Marcus

The Potting Shed is part of the original Gardners Buildings of a large country house. Beautifully updated to provide a truly snug and romantic place to stay. A log burner is the focal point of the lounge/living area as well as exposed wooden beams and stonework. Wifi, Smart TV and all you will need for a memorable get away. Well fitted kitchen with fridge, microwave and dishwasher. Double bedroom, shower/WC. Ample Parking. We want to make your stay cosy, comfortable and enjoyable.
We want to welcome you to our 'Potting Shed' which is a beautifully restored cottage-like place to stay. We have included all we can to give you home-from-home comforts in peaceful country surroundings. We offer a welcome pack when you arrive, logs and coal for a cosy fire and there is free Wifi (just in case you want to contact the outside world) ! We are very flexible so please ask if there is anything we can do to make your stay more comfortable or anything that you need. Outside the Potting Shed is a table and chairs for you to sit and have your morning coffee and a small BBQ. As well as this there is a larger grass area with BBQ and seating for the use of guests located just across from the parking area. Or if you would like a little walk you can wander across the grass area of the walled garden and through into our apple orchard with a seating area looking out across the Somerset Levels towards Cheddar Gorge - if you come in September you are welcome to try the different varieties of apples. There is ample parking outside the Potting Shed which is set in the country garden of a large rural house in Chilton Polden, a village just below the Polden Hills. On the next door property is a cafe serving homemade food and delicious coffee and cafe which can be accessed via the wooden gate and across the car park. Down the driveway from the cafe is a gym which guests can book in to and use on a pay-as-use basis. There is also a nails and massage parlour on the gym/cafe complex. The village has a well-stocked grocery store for all your food and drink needs, a post office and 2 pubs within walking distance. If it's the countryside you like then there is Shapwick Heath and Ham Wall Nature Reserve (10/15 mins), Cheddar Gorge or the Quantock Hills (30 mins) or the sea at Minehead (45 mins), or simply go down on to the Somerset Levels for some fantastic walks around the area. The village is on the Somerset Cycle route so an idea place to stay during a cycling break to see the wonderful Somerset Levels or take the challenge of the steep climb up Cheddar Gorge. The near town of Street (5 miles away) boasts the large retail outlet of Clarks Village if you are in to shopping. A file with information of local places to visit is available in the Potting Shed along with tourist information leaflets.

  • Joanna's annexe was just perfect for us and our little girl, we were able to check in earlier than expected and Joanna was great at communicating this. Location was lovely for us visiting family in Bridgewater and such a peaceful and pleasant place to stay. Joanna was kind enough to let us see the animals and our little one is just in love with 'orseys' and the dogs were very friendly. The place was very private and you felt as if it was it's own home. On arrival, there was a delightful and tasty lemon cake, which was a really nice touch. Would definitely recommend to friends and family and return when we visit our family again. Thank you again Joanna for our stay and we look forward to returning (especially for the cake)

  • This place was really nice, cosy and well located. It felt very blissful to be away from the big city of London and have a little place which is so remote you can't even hear any cars. Joanna really made sure we were okay when we first came and was super helpful giving us recommendations on where to go/eat. Very clean, contemporary and spacious place. Thank you for the lovley stay!

A newly renovated space providing comfortable and modern accommodation. Come and enjoy Littlemead at Chapel Farm and enjoy our space, explore the surrounding RSPB nature reserves, Wells, Glastonbury and you must sample some local Scrumpy! A great little haven from which to explore Somerset.
Enjoy a little of rural Somerset life. Stay in an old barn newly renovated! Ask to see the photo album - it really was tough creating this space... Sample apples fresh from the orchard and take a stroll down the paddock to the River Brue where plenty of wildlife and waterfowl can be seen. Collect your own fresh eggs from our feathered friends.
Enjoy the peace and quiet of being in a rural Somerset village where the gardens and paddock lead to the Somerset Levels and panoramic views of the Mendip hills.
  • Absolutely perfect. I highly suggest staying here! The space was ideal, the hosts were delightful, and the land and evening walk was just what I needed. Fully self-contained but the hosts were nearby for anything needed. Beautiful stay. Thanks and will return!

  • Good, friendly host. Very clean and comfortable accommodation. Excellent directions with pictures makes it easy to find this lovely hideaway. Perfectly placed for access to RSPB and other reserves. We were rewarded with great sightings of the 1/2 million starling murmurations and 20 of the rare cranes. We will be back!

    Stephen2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • This was a real gem to find for us. Perfect for all the RSPB and nature reserves we wanted to see and everything we needed. The extra touches of bread, milk etc were really appreciated. The freshly laid eggs were delicious.

    Emma2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Wish we were there for more than one night! Lovely place to stay.

    Maisie2020-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • We can’t recommend Littlemead highly enough. Our only regret is that we had booked this for a one night stopover to break our (otherwise) tedious journey home. We were very tired and it was lovely to be in such a beautiful and peaceful location with everything that we needed to be exceptionally comfortable. We loved the eggs too. When we are next in the area we will be checking availability of Littlemead first as this will definitely be our preference! Thank you Martin & Sarah for such a lovely, clean and well appointed stay.

  • One of the best Airbnb’s I have stayed in. Me and my family had a lovely long weekend at the Cellar Barn. The rural location is lovely, in a pretty village with a good local pub. The accommodation was excellent. Comfy beds, plenty of towels, decent shower, good WiFi, the best equipped kitchen I’ve experienced with Airbnb, unexpected welcome treats and the odd welcome visit from friendly doggies. Just what we wanted, I can’t praise it enough and well priced for the size.

  • Nigel has a lovely ,rural modernised cosy cottage and is a welcoming place to stay. Good commication, no hassle at all. Its very well located to Glastonbury, Wookie Hole,Wells,Cheddar Gorge and many more places within 20 minutes drive. Oh..Don't walk in the dark to the pub ..(Great food!)though!( No footpath)The welcome gifts were a great start to the stay.I'd recommend parking on the layby just a few feet up the road. A beautiful place to stay in a beautiful part of the country! Thanks Nigel :)

  • Staying at Nigel's delightful cottage was wonderful. It was more like staying at a friend's house, than an air bnb, because Nigel was so helpful and communicative. The house is right next to an amazing place to see the murmurations, which was a highlight of our trip. Thank you Nigel, a lovely weekend stay.

    Emily2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This sparkling clean, well fitted cottage was perfectly situated for accessing all three reserves and we had a great weekend watching the Starling murmmerations, listening to Bittern, spotting Marsh Harriers & Greater Egrets. Nigel was a responsive and thoughtful host. The local pub, The Bird in Hand mustn't be judged by the exterior, the service & food were great, best to book.

    Jane2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy, clean and very comfortable cottage located on the Avalon Marches - perfect for enjoying the nature reserves, hear the Bitterns and see the murmurations, as well as exploring Glastonbury and Wells. We really enjoyed it and recommend highly.

    Tim2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Nigel is a superb host. Nothing was too much trouble. The cottage was exactly as described. Very clean, comfortable and cosy on a cold February evening. Extremely well equipped and treats left were very welcome. Not having used an electric cooker I did struggle to get going on it but one quick phone call and Nigel had us sorted out. He even offered to come and help us if needed. It was much appreciated. Parking was no issue and even though the cottage is next to the road we were never aware of any traffic noise. I think because the walls are so thick. As we are keen bird watchers the close proximity to several different bird serves in area made the location of the cottage very appealing and we used the Avalon Marshes Café every day coffees and lunch. Would highly recommend.

    Sally2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful little haven of country cottage meeting all the mod cons and cosy trimmings of comfort. The place was spotless when arrived and very thoughtful touches of beers- eggs- cereals-bread-milk, chocolate/snacks ..not extravagant but very welcoming and came in so handy after spending a fortune on eating out! Beautifully decorated and very welcoming touches with heating on all the time and hot water on tap! I felt so taken care of also with great communication in directions, checking in daily to make sure everything was okay and virtually instant replies when contacting. Excellent value for money and only a 10 min drive to Glastonbury. Car a necessity but probably cheaper in long run anyway with commuting to airport and with taxi rides in and out of town. Cars were very reasonable to hire and all round petrol only cost £12! I couldn’t recommend it more- was a bit of magic! Thank you Nigel!

    Julie2020-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • its a lovely cosy cottage, great location for the RSPB Ham Wall just 4 mins drive away. Nigel has decorated the cottage so beautifully, but still sticking to lovely country feel. • Yamuna is a wonderful host. I felt very welcome into her peaceful and welcoming home. Surrounded by beautiful countryside, it is just what I needed.

    Jane2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Unpretentious accommodation really handy for Glastonbury and the Somerset Levels. Our host pointed out a great place to watch the starling murmurations, and told us about the impending Glastonbury Carnival (which we sampled!) So we knew to avoid traffic congestion. A warm and generous host! We were given a fantastic breakfast - fresh fruit, yogurt, cereals, fresh bread, home made spreads, eggs... Yamuna shared her Krishna experiences with us and also offered her skills in a variety of alternative therapies. The reflexology was brilliant! She well deserves the accolade of SuperHost ...

    Elizabeth2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Easy to get to Glastonbury with car. The host is friendly, welcoming and a very interesting lady. Everything you need is provided. Would definitely recommend.

    Lisa2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • It's even nicer than it says in the advert. Yamuna is really cool!

    Alba2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Yamuna’s home is so peaceful & she is a very warm, kind hearted host. We only stayed for one night & were made to feel at home. Thank you Yamuna 🙏

    Emily2019-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Yamuna is a very sweet and lovely host, always checking if you have everything you need. The room was comfortable and I especially liked the garden at the back that backed onto the field for my daily yoga practice. As I spent time in Glastonbury it was great as only about a 15 minutes drive. Thanks again Yamuna for a lovely stay.

    Emma2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Yamuna’s home is a sanctuary and Yamuna is more than a host - she will treat you as family. Her heart is enormous; her attentiveness to your needs is vast. Her earth/fire nature was a perfect catalyst for the process I went through in Glastonbury. Thank you to my beautiful new Goddess friend, Yamuna! Tips: 1.) It is helpful to have a car 2.) If you are sensitive - bring earplugs for the country road traffic noise as the window is on the st. side of the house

The Piggery is a tranquil, stand-alone wood-cabin in the beautiful Somerset countryside. Ideal for short breaks for those who want somewhere quiet and like to get out and about. Situated on our organic small-holding, it has a double bed, ensuite, a TV and kitchennette facilities - kettle, microwave, fridge. We're 8 mins from the M5, with Taunton, Glastonbury, Street and Wells a few miles drive. Our village has a pub that serves excellent food and there is a convenience store 2 miles away.
Please be aware that we are doing some building work Aug - Dec 2019. This is at the other end of our house and well away from the Piggery, but there may be some noise starting from 8am on weekdays, and a need to juggle parking to allow access. This shouldn't disturb any guests, but we want to make you aware. The Piggery is a wood cabin reconstructed on the site of an old pig sty, hence the name. We rebuilt it in 2010 as the old building had a tree growing through it! Though of course you are very welcome to stay in, The Piggery is compact and probably best suited to people who like to get out and about; some people might find the bathroom access a little tight. Due to the dangers of the woodburner, non-mobile children are welcome, and those over 10. Please be aware we do not have a cot and space is limited. We offer a discount for stays of a week or more. We have a dog, Midge, who is very friendly though a little excitable. She is not allowed in the Piggery, though may try to convince you otherwise! Sorry, but it means we can't welcome other dogs. We also have chickens, geese and ducks, and sometimes sheep or pigs. You are welcome to visit them. The beautiful vale that we’re situated in is called Billicombe and the little hamlet is Tapmoor. We are on the side of the Polden Hills, facing south west towards the Quantock Hills. Glastonbury with its famous Tor is 7 miles away and Wells, the smallest city in England, another 7 miles further on. There are a number of well-known nature reserves close by, including Westhay, Ham Wall and Greylake. We're ideally located for visiting the Starling murmurations in autumn and winter. The site of the last battle on English soil – the Battle of Sedgemoor in 1685 – is a few miles across the Levels at Westonzoyland. King Alfred burned the cakes at Burrowbridge, just off the road to Taunton. The world famous Cheddar Gorge is a short drive across the Somerset levels; the cheese storage caves are worth a visit on a wet day. The Ring Of Bells in Moorlinch is the nearest pub – under a mile away; with other village pubs nearby. Edington has a general store.
We're situated in a small hamlet on the edge of the village of Moorlinch in the heart of the Somerset countryside. It's a very quiet and peaceful spot. Moorlinch is a small village with a church, a well frequented pub (which serves food most evenings) and a garage. Other shops and amenities are close by but a car journey for most. The country town of Taunton is a short drive across the Somerset levels, with excellent shopping, cinema, 10-pin bowling etc.
  • What a beautiful place to stay! Despite it being rainy February, The Piggery is set in lovely gardens which means that the view from the window is just so wonderful to wake up to every morning. The log burner makes it very cosy in the evenings and The Piggery has everything you need. Pete and Jenny were absolutely wonderful hosts. Thank you so much for everything. If you want a tranquil stay in a beautiful setting then this is the place for you!

    Ruth2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely lovely weekend stay! Easy to find but remote enough to be away from the hustle and bustle!! There are so many little extra touches like slipper socks and biscuits! The bed was super comfy and the log burner was lovely! Will definitely return!! Thanks to Pete And Jenny for their lovely hospitality!

    Billy2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • A great place either to unwind or to visit a wide range of attractions. The hosts are superb in every way and the Piggery is very clean and in such a peaceful area of Somerset. Wonderful gardens, too.

“Surely the best turned out Potting Shed in England”.... from Alastair Sawday’s book “Go Slow England”. The ‘Potting Shed’ is completely separate to our own 400-year-old family home. As guests you have your own entrance door and key to enable you to come and go as you please. It is a charming, safe and secure, quietly situated double room with modern en-suite. Lovely views over the walled gardens and adjacent 15th century Church. Ideal both for single guests or couples.
Facilities in the room include a double bed with white cotton bed linen, towels, free wi-fi, hairdryer and kettle together with a well stocked tea/coffee tray and organic chilled West Country milk. In the morning guests are welcome to breakfast in our dining room. This is normally of ‘European’ style, typically with ‘quality’ breads (usually homemade), together with a selection of smoked/cured meats, fine cheese, eggs, cereals, toast, homemade marmalade, homemade Bircher muesli, Lavazza cafetière coffee and a selection of teas. Alternatively we can offer a cooked breakfast of traditional dry cured bacon and free range eggs. Vegetarian, Vegan and gluten free breakfasts are also available. We strive to use organic and locally sourced produce and to be as accommodating as possible in fitting within your own itineraries. Breakfast can also if desired be brought to the Potting Shed itself or indeed on sunny days laid in the garden under the tulip tree perhaps or within the newly restored and fully productive organic Kitchen Garden. In any case guests are welcome to linger in these areas enjoying the plants and views during their stay. There is ample guest parking space on the quiet road in front of the property. Guests are also welcome to use the ironing board and washing machine in our cottage by arrangement. We will always of course aim to be around for your arrival so we are on hand to help with any questions about the room or local area. We have a very friendly flat coat retriever dog called ‘Fleur’. She is a warm hearted member of our family and certainly loves visitors. Fleur does however know she is not permitted in the guest accommodation.
The ‘Potting Shed’ is perfectly located within the heart of the historic Polden Hills village of Shapwick. It is ideally placed both for those simply requiring a quick, but we believe special stop over within easy reach of major routes. (Jnct 23 on the M5 is 12 minutes drive, the A303, 25 minutes drive) ; and also for those seeking to enjoy The Potting Shed as a lovely and more leisurely quiet base from which to explore this unique part of beautiful rural Somerset. The Avalon Marshes Nature Reserves are all within a mile or two; including both the internationally famous Shapwick Heath and the RSPB’s Ham Wall Reserves. Between November and March these reserves are particularly popular for those wishing to experience the world renown starling murmurations. These truly spectacular experiences attract visitors from across the globe. As well as for nature lovers though the ‘Potting Shed’ is similarly perfectly placed for cyclists, (it is on the National designated John O’Groats/ Lands End Cycle route. Likewise, it is ideal for those looking to explore the historic and exceptionally beautiful City of Wells and the towns of Glastonbury, Wedmore and Cheddar. These are all within 30 minutes drive as are both the Quantock and Mendip Hills; including of course the spectacular Cheddar Gorge and Caves. Shapwick School is just around the corner....two minutes walk..... so for parents or for prospective parents the ‘Potting Shed’ would certainly be ideal.
  • Gosh! What an outstanding experience. From the very first warm and quick response to my initial inquiry to the farewell at the end, Matthew and Karin made sure my stay exceeded all expectations at every turn. The Potting Shed was spotlessly clean, beautifully presented with an array of houseplants, lovely lighting, warm, cosy and with a fully equipped bathroom (they'd even supplied 'Faith in Nature' shampoo and conditioner!) The following morning, breakfast was laid out on a huge wooden table in front of a roaring fire; charcuterie, cooked breakfast, rye bread, cheese and preserves and fresh coffee. The location was tranquil with immaculate dark skies at night and the Shapwick Heath Nature reserve, famous for its starling murmurations just a few minutes down the road. It was a stay I won't forget in a while and one that I would highly recommend to fellow guests. Thank you, Matthew and Karin.

  • Beautiful place, thoroughly recommended, very quiet, superb hosts who are really friendly and hospitable. Delicious breakfast, home made bread, totally attentive to our needs. The potting shed is cosy and clean, fresh white linen. A nearby walk away is Ham wall, magnificent starling murmurations.

  • The Potting shed was the perfect location for a weekend of starling watching on the Somerset levels. The Shapwick and Ham Wall reserves are only a few minutes up the road, so a great spot for anyone who enjoys wildlife and walking. Mathew and Karin were wonderful hosts, we were made to feel so welcome. The accommodation was lovely and they provided us with an amazing breakfast each morning. We look forward to returning next year.

  • I wanted somewhere to stay with my autistic son that was peaceful with a private shower that was easy to use. Jennifer's place was perfect for our needs and had secure parking at the back. They were very accomodating with our arrival time as it was late, after dark. We missed breakfast as we had to get going early. Would definitely go there again.

A quiet cottage full of character in a lovely village on the Somerset levels.
Ivy Cottage is an old farm cottage which has been sympathetically extended over the years and as a result feels quite spacious. There are beautiful gardens where guests can relax and enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside.
Stawell is a tranquil village on the Somerset Levels. Yet it's within the M5 corridor, being just 6 miles from junction 23. This makes it a perfect country retreat, that is also ideal for getting to the towns and cities in the area. Bristol, Taunton and Cheddar are a 40 minute drive. Glastonbury is a 25 minute drive.
  • Amazing host. Beautiful property. Wonderful location.

    Anna2019-04-21T00:00:00Z
  • What can I say, this place looked great on the photographs but in reality they really don't do it justice. Diana's place is immaculately presented, clean, tidy and very, very comfortable. The pillows were just right, and the mattress was incredibly comfortable - no doubt it was not a cheap purchase! Little thoughtful touches like the cool looking night torch on the bedside table showed a genuine consideration for guests - it's dark here at night, you need it! The breakfast was healthy with the option of non-dairy products if you prefer. Gorgeous house, super host... I'm as picky as they come and frankly I couldn't fault my stay at Ivy Cottage. Highly recommended.

  • We couldn't have chosen a cosier, cleaner or better-equipped place to stay for a week! Fiona even baked us a cake as part of a welcome hamper, which was much appreciated. Probably the largest and most comfortable bed ever into the bargain. Travelling with a young spaniel, this was the ideal place to stay, with small, privateand enclosed outside spaces; she also enjoyed the dog biscuits left for her! This was a truly dog friendly stay.

    Myra2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This is an amazing property. Hosted by some truly lovely people. My wife and I stayed here with our toddler for two nights as we were making our way down from London to Cornwall. Fiona and Gary are brilliant hosts. Very friendly. And also with good recommendations. Including a fun lunch at a local pub. Special mention for all the small touches around the place that can make all the difference. Like bread and milk to welcome us, and even homemade cakes, plus a children's book, high chair and travel cot for our son. The place itself is super clean, very well appointed, and has been done really well. Very impressed. We had a great time! Highly recommend. Beautiful surroundings and countryside too. We'd absolutely stay again. And give this top marks across the board!

    Adrian2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Woodpecker Lodge was brilliant. Fiona & Gary couldn’t have been more welcoming, and the lodge was clean and very comfortable. Little touches like a welcome hamper in the lodge were lovely thoughtful perks, and both Fiona and Gary went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable and in the know about local amenities, walks and. places to visit. Would definitely stay here again.

  • Absolutely beautiful lodge, so cosy and homely. We stay at woodpecker lodge for 4 nights over the new year break, went on lovely walks and had a lovely meal at a local pub. Fiona and Gary were great hosts, leaving little finishing touches to the place like a hamper of bread, milk, biscuits and even biscuits for our dog Woody. Definitely will be staying here again

  • Most beautiful Airbnb in Somerset, I’ve no doubt. Fiona is a sincere and generous host who is, as we say in Australia: FAIR DINKUM. A home away from home with every consideration implemented into this sweet and ever so comfortable retreat. A thousand stars.

  • Great place to go to relax and get away from things. The lodge is in a quiet, rural setting and was very comfortable to stay in. Everything is new and exceptionally clean, with tasteful decor and a homey feel to it. The kitchen was particularly well equipped, with cooking basics provided such as tea/coffee, bread, milk, cooking oil, salt and pepper etc. Excellent value for money. Fiona and Gary were also so welcoming and helpful. The communication was excellent - very informative and responsive. I have no complaints at all and hope to stay again in the future!

Puriton is a commuter village just off the M5, as well as the great transport links there is a pub, butchers / corner store and post office. This bright and airy single room is located in a small quiet cul-de-sac within a two bedroom house. It is suitable for a work or leisure as there are plenty of areas to explore. This is the closest AirBnB to the largest HINKLEY POINT PARK AND RIDE (1 mile). Gravity Enterprise Zone (0.7 miles). Somerset Energy Innovation Centre (2 miles).
The room has plenty of storage space (fixed wardrobe and chest-of-drawers). A work space (desk) and black-out curtains. Bed linen and towels included. There is an information pack in the room that gives information on the area.

  • Marie's home is lovely and clean. She is great host and is happy to help with any questions you may have about the local area or your stay. I stayed as I was in the area for 1 week working and is ideal for anyone potentially working on the Hinkley point project as there are coach pick up points not too fat from her home.

  • A very warm (Dec 2019), comfortable, very quiet, and bright space with eye-level skylights that provide lots of daylight and that swing open for ventillation. The food preparation area is compact but well equipped, likewise the bathroom. Wifi download speed is "Somerset rural" - typically less than 1Mbps but with occasional, unpredictable, bursts of 3-4. Highly reccommended; I really enjoyed being there!

The cottage is in the centre of a quiet village with the local pub just along the road. The well equipped shop and post office is about half a mile away and has all you need for grocery supplies. Although for larger shops both Street (7 miles) and Bridgwater (5 miles) have several large supermarkets. The village also boasts a large (crossfit) gym, beauty parlour and coffee shop/cafe. From the village you can walk/drive/cycle onto the Somerset Levels, and nature reserves of Shapwick Heath and Ham Wall are a short car journey. Many people come to see the Starling Murmerations or take a quiet walk to see the birds and animal life on the moors. Across the levels about 30 minutes takes you to the famous Cheddar Gorge and caves - a drive down the gorge is spectacular, not forgetting to stop in the village at the Cheddar museum or the local coffee shops. Bus route to Street and Bridgwater goes through the village. We are only 10 minutes from the M5 with easy access to Taunton, Bristol or Exeter. Or visit the famous Clarks Village at Street (15 mins) for some retail therapy or to find a bargain.
  • Sam & Karen’s cottage is full of character. The rooms are all very spacious whilst feeling cosy and warm too - there’s central heating throughout and also a lovely log burner in the sitting room. Karen and Sam were great at replying to our messages and were also kind enough to let us stay a little later on the day of departure - a very welcome gesture with 3 young children to get sorted. The dining room has a huge table and is part of the well/equipped kitchen so we were able to make some lovely memories during meal times. There’s also a selection of games to play too. The only suggestion we would make is to take your slippers - the floors downstairs are the original flagstones! A great weekend - thank you.

  • A gem of a find! Cosy cottage full of thoughtful touches in an excellent location for exploring Somerset. We arrived late evening to find hosts had thoughtfully left lights on for us, cottage was warm & welcoming, fresh milk for coffee/tea plus a hamper of treats! Kindling etc was laid out for a fire, there was a bottle of wine & even a twinkly xmas tree! Hosts have thought of everything for a really enjoyable stay- useful local info & most importantly, really comfy beds. Loved it!

Stunning views of the countryside and sheep and came to visit us in the garden :) Kate was a wonderful host and gave us lots of recommendations. Would stay again

  • We spent 3 nights at Kate's and Steve's place. We were greeted by Steve and taken to see the accommodation. Steve gave us all information about the place and made sure that we feel like at home. The cabin was very comfortable, stylish and beautifully detailed. The guesthouse was sparkling clean and fully equipped. The bedclothes and towels were fresh and all the toaletteries (and the hairdryer) were provided. There were a milk, a water in the fridge and some shortbread and tea, coffee, hot chocolate in the basket on the table. Access to Wi-fi and Netflix available. Excellent communication with both hosts. Kate and Steve are very friendly and helpful people. We could not have a better stay in Ashcott. Very good and beautiful location. Close to Cheddar, Longleat and Heck's cider and farm shop. We highly recommend and can't wait to come back.

  • We had a really warm welcome from Cynthia (including a glass of wine!) which was a lovely start to our stay. The guest suite was delightful: clean, spacious and stylish. Some great touches - a fruit bowl/chocolates/lovely toiletries and even some Xmas decorations. Great views over the wonderful gardens - we had a lovely stroll round them - gorgeous! We would definitely stay here again - highly recommended.

    Jill2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • We chose this place as we wanted to explore the Avalon Marshes on our bikes. It was amazing! Such a beautiful home with beautiful hosts. They gave us great tips as to where to dine, and infact we enjoyed both pubs in the village so didn't need to drive anywhere in the evenings after exploring the beauty spots on bike. We would highly recommend staying in this peaceful home. Thank you both.

  • My and my family stayed few days at Cyntia's property. The property it's a beautifully place with a nice garden. Cynthia was greeted us when we arrived, showed us the place and made us some recommendations regarding what to do in the region.

  • Unique accomodation where everything fits together. With wonderful garden and spacious accommodation for 4 people. Don‘t expect anything standard, as the building and the accomodation has its own special style. Hosts are very friendly and contact in our case was regular as accomodation is not fully separated from living quarters of hosts. We had an arrangement for breakfast which we were able to take in the beautiful garden alone, as if the whole property was ours. Definitely a place to come back. Hosts also gave great advice.

    Richard2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful space to spend some time. We loved it.

    Cara2019-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Cynthia is a very warm welcoming friendly host, who immediately made us feel welcome. The garden is outstanding and the style and little touches of decor around the house are beautiful. We had great nights sleep in the comfy beds and the area is nice secluded and quiet. We will definitely be using again if we need somewhere to stay in the area. Thank you.

There are several local nature reserves which are wonderful to walk around and the levels are teeming with wildlife and amazing sites such as the starling murmerations.
  • Marg's place is great. Spacious, clean, great location and great amenities. Marg is also a great host. I've stayed in a lot of AirBnB's all over the world (As i travel for work lot) and I have to say, this was one of my top experiences. The added touch was Marg herself! She's great. Thanks Marg.

  • Booked at short notice due to storm Dennis. The flat was fabulous - cosy, warm and very comfortable. There was a little goody basket with wine, biscuits and choccies in as well as tea & coffee etc. We really enjoyed relaxing in the roll-top bath especially as the bathroom was warm & lots of hot water. In the main area, there’s a very comfy chair where you can watch the tv or gaze out of the window over the fields watching the chickens. A real treat, thank you.

Although the Apple Store is ideal for 4 guests there is room for 2 additional guests with a double sofa bed in the lounge. If guests wish to use the sofa bed please let us know when booking as there are extra duvet, pillows and bed linen for use with the sofa bed which we can provide and will be found in the airing cupboard located in the 2nd bedroom. Enough cutlery, crockery etc is provided for up to 6 guests. If you would like a little walk you can wander across the grass area of the walled garden and through into our apple orchard - if you come in September you are welcome to try the different varieties of apples. There is a seating area which looks over the Somerset Levels towards Cheddar Gorge and a grass area for ball games. The apartment has been converted and recently upgraded with new carpeting and furnishings. Cheddar Gorge and Caves can be seen across the moors and it is a 30 minute drive to view the spectacular scenery and visit the famous caves and Wookey Hole. It is a short drive to the Quantock Hills and Somerset Coast. Beaches at Burnham are 15 minutes away and also to be found here is the historic Golf Links.
