Places to stay in Boulder
Our rustic log cabin has scenic views of green pastures, slick rock vistas and mesas. Each of our two rooms comfortably hosts two adults. We are conveniently located less than two miles south of the intersection of Highway 12 and the Burr Trail.
Whether you enjoy an early morning stroll through the beautiful neighborhood of Lower Boulder or bird watching under the cotton wood trees, anyone can enjoy the picturesque setting. Each of the two rooms sleeps two people and also have newly remodeled bathrooms.
Lower Boulder is a friendly neighborhood. There are year long residents and vacation homes here. Along with family farms there are also some ranches and larger farms that employ locals and seasonal residents.
  • Ellie's place is awesome. It's in a perfect location - quiet, rural, super pretty. The rooms are really clean and well maintained, comfy beds, hot showers, nice pillows. Ellie makes a killer breakfast every morning and provides a lot of great local information and knowledge from a lifetime of living and exploring the area. I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone!

  • Lovely cabin with large, clean bedroom and private bath. The room was spacious and warm on the second floor. Ellie responded quickly to all of my communications. Her directions are clear and the B&B is well-signed. She was flexible and generous about my arriving later than expected. She cooks a delicious breakfast. Her place is a great value.

  • Ellie's place was sparkling clean and quiet. She is local to the area and very knowledgeable. She made us a delicious breakfast and when she was unavailable to make us breakfast, she left us a generous gift certificate to a local restaurant that served us an amazing breakfast. Thank you! Boulder is a beautiful place to visit!

  • A wonderful place to stay. A warm, spacious, well appointed room. Great location. Spectacular views. The freshest eggs I recommend this place 100%. Ellie is THE perfect host.

  • Comfortable, clean, quiet, easy access, starry nights, great breakfast included - can't ask for more. We really enjoyed our stay. Thanks for the great accommodations and ambiance Ellie!

  • Clean, comfortable, great location. Loved the breakfast, fresh and simple! Ellie made everything very easy and relaxing. Hope to return!

  • Great place, great host and a good hideout for hikes!

    Bart2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent cleanliness, exquisite hospitality and kindness, very sociable and pleasant, excellent breakfast prepared live and according to requests deposited the night before. A somewhat isolated structure, perfect for experiencing America more than in the countryside, with chickens, cats, and occasional cows, but sufficiently marked. Very particular and welcoming house, large room and very good bathroom.

  • We were very happy with our stay at Blue Heron. The tiny house was cozy and comfortable, had nice amenities, and was in a fantastic location for accessing Grand Staircase, Hell’s Backbone, etc. Kelley was communicative and the instructions she left were very thorough. We’d happily stay here again.

  • This little place had everything we needed for an awesome anniversary get-away. The kitchen was well-stocked with utensils and appliances, the bed was comfortable, the star-gazing was unforgettable... Loved it here!

    Doug2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • The tiny house is charming and so well designed! There are all sorts of clever storage areas, and climbing up to the lofts makes the whole thing feel like a very cool fort from your childhood. The bathroom is lovely, and the shower was very nice. We made use of the full kitchen and gas stove. The location and views are stunning. It is a dark sky area, and the patio and chairs facilitate star gazing. The bed was comfortable. The compressor for the heater was a little loud at night, but we tend to be light sleepers which made it more of an issue for us. Overall, this was a beautiful and comfortable place to stay!

    Caitlin2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • The house is in a great location on a ranch. It's incredibly spacious and clean and well located.

    Paulette2019-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • Our first tiny house experience, this place was so cute with everything you needed. We loved the location close to a super cute mini market/gas station and also 2minutes away from a very famous and delicious restaurant from UT.

    Marcelo And Evelyn2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • This tiny house was fantastic. We have kids (10 and 12) who love watching all the tiny house shows, and we do too, so it was fun to take one for a "test drive". (Yes, it's on wheels but it doesn't move.) We had four of us plus they accommodated our dog for extra fee since he's a small guy and we made it work without a hitch! The views were spectacular, the location to Boulder and neighboring outdoors was perfect, and even being behind the mini market was such a savior.

    Tyler2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome place with amazing views!

    Justin2019-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Located in the heart of slickrock country, this tiny house is thoughtfully constructed, stylishly decorated and perfect for stargazing. Comfortable beds that only require minor gymnastics to climb into and a full kitchen. Indoor eating and lounging areas are small but there's a small deck and other outdoor space. I was very comfortable traveling solo but thought it might be a bit tight for more than 2 people, even though there's room to sleep 4-6.

  • Great value, stellar location. Very cozy. The property is beautiful. Will come back for further desert adventures!

    Matt2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Wow such a great and surprising stay. Jenifer was so welcoming, responsive, and even gave us tips on our hikes for the next day! If you want a cozy warm stay with great atmosphere then look no further. The walk to the bathroom can be a bit chilly in colder months, but you walk through an orchard to get there. The bathroom was extremely clean as well. We’ll be recommending this place to friends and attempting to stay in the barn next time!

    Zachary2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Jenifer is a gracious host with great communication and gave us tips for things to do in the area. Would definitely stay here again!

  • Very nice cool place, if I can I would stay here again

    Salvador2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed staying at the bunkhouse. Very cozy and comfortable room with great bathroom facilities. It was just what we needed after a couple of days of camping. Jennifer, Shannon and all the farm animals were very welcoming. We especially loved our morning coffee outside on the porch in the orchard.

    Stacey2019-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • Jenifer’s place is totally unique and comfortable. We actually stayed an extra night with her when we had made other plans. We liked it that much!

Cabin 2 is cozy for 2 people. It has a double bed with linens, clean towels, and a small table with 2 chairs. There is a porch that provides afternoon shade and a picnic table, fire pit, pavilion, and BBQ stand all handy. The WiFi is fast and reliable and the parking is next to the cabin. It IS one of our dry cabins, so only the bed and table are inside. The bathroom facility is cleaned daily, and checked often and is right there close.
  • Great location and great hospitality. Quick responses every time. Would definitely return.

  • Cosy, clean cabin in Escalante! We enjoyed our stay, check in was easy. Highly recommend!

    Yiting2019-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • I loved this place! Cabin is cozy and clean. Assigned parking right next to the cabin. Showers were hot and strong and showers/restrooms were extremely clean. Hosts were very helpful. Great value and a great stay!

    Jen2019-11-08T00:00:00Z
  • Loved staying in the cabin! Ryan was so kind to leave us a bundle of wood so we could get a sunset hike in before checking in and relaxing by a campfire:) We will come back for more exploring and stay in the cabins again! *Laundry was a huge plus too*

    Christina2019-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little cabin in a clean and friendly rv park! Enjoyed the closeness to shops and restaurants. Just missed a microwave and coffeemaker.

    Ina Rene2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Good stay.... would definitely recommend.

    Carla2019-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great spot! Easy access to grand staircase and all it’s beauty. The bathroom facilities were clean and the cabin was warm and cozy. Definitely a small space, but it worked well for us. We would definitely stay at Ryan’s place again!

    Megan2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was perfect at Ryan’s place. The restrooms and shower were great and the camping space was so nice with families and young people all together. We stayed only for one night but we had a great time! We booked a cabin and it was perfect.

This tent is located at Boulder Mountain Guest Ranch! A premier destination for vacations due to it's beauty, and amenities one of which include onsite organic and farm-to-fork restaurant Sweetwater Kitchen. My place is close to some of the best hiking destinations in the world.. You’ll love my place because of of the starry nights, amazing hikes, and delicious meals at Sweetwater Kitchen.
Boulder is a great place, besides the epic hikes and beautiful views, there are a quite a few things to do in town. Visit the Anasazi museum, get organic coffee at the Burr Trail Outpost, a burger at the Burr Trail Grill, and world-class farm-to-table meal at on-site Sweetwater Kitchen or Hell's Backbone Grill in town. Other mentionables are Magnolias Food Truck, Pole's Place souvenir store and Kiva Koffeehouse.
  • My wife and I had a great time in the Tipi! It was a unique, welcoming, comfortable stay. We had dinner at the Ranch the night we drove in. It was delicious. The drive to the local hikes/parks was super easy. We will be looking forward to our next opportunity to stay here!

    Ray2019-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Cool Tini (tent) in the open air, inside there is a heater and a warm electric blanket. There is a toilet on the street, a shower is warm in the shared building. Breakfast is not bad. Liked. I slept very soundly and well. thank

    Dina2019-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • This has to be one of the neatest experiences we've had. The tipi is just as it's pictured, beautifully decorated on the inside. I do have to say, this is for someone or a couple who wants to get away and disconnect because Wifi is weak, even in the lodge, and there's hardly anything to do in Boulder. But we enjoyed looking at the horses, there's a nice trail that follows a creek nearby and of course ate at the wonderful Sweetwater Kitchen for dinner, doing a separate review on that because it literally was a 5 star experience. There's a very clean outhouse a few steps away from the tipi and a solar powered shower, which we didn't use because there was tons of bees around, again this is out there! Keep that in mind! We're from a big city so we were apprehensive about the wildlife but didn't encounter anything alarming. The views are beautiful and we've never seen so many stars at night. Wonderful experience if you really want to be one with nature! Thanks Eva!

    Fatima2019-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • This was a wonderful stay. The location was exciting and Eva was very friendly with local tips and amenities. I would highly recommend the Tipi glamping experience!

    Chelsea2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect place to relax and enjoy nature. The tipi is a nice alternative to common hotel rooms but offers the same comfort and an awesome view. The restaurant next door serves excellent food.

    Dario2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • This place was amazing! If you are looking to experience a relaxing night with the sounds of nature.. this place is ideal. The staff was very nice and made sure everything was ok. I drove 4 hours to get there and was exhausted. I was able to eat at their restaurant and it was honestly the highlight of my day, food was fresh with an amazing view facing the mountains. Will recommend it to anyone around the area!

    Juliana2019-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • It was a nice place to stay, too bad that we could just stay 1 night. The shower and restroom was extraordinary for a stay in a tent. The breakfast was very good too. Just be aware that the nature can be a bit noisy at night. We just can recommend a stay at the tipi.

    Sabrina2019-08-07T00:00:00Z

  • Ingrid’s place was exactly as described! She was very friendly and inviting. It was just blocks away from the town of Escalante, with restaurants and grocery shopping and close to hiking. The place was clean and quiet, exactly what we needed. We also loved feeding the animals!

    Caitlin2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful location! The animals are a joy to observe and feed. Eli and Ingrid were both friendly and very gracious hosts. Wish I could have stayed longer.

    Nicole2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Incredible little abode in the heart of Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument. It’s got everything you need for an adventurous getaway. The llamas/alpacas were also great

    Wudan2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • This was exactly what we needed. Clean simple and easy to access/find. Ingrid was sweet and flexible with our difficult schedule. We loved this location for going to Escalante slot canyons and Bryce Canyon. Great bargain!

    Beth2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Comfortable, exactly as described.

    Andrea2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect space for 2 adults. The bed was comfortable and room was clean. Plus there's a little micro kitchen if you want to cook a little something. Loved feeding the animals, of course. If you want a base location to explore the ruggedly beautiful Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, this is your place.

    Gina2020-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time at Ingrid's! Amazing value.. It was comfortable and we loved the animals who were an experience in themselves! Convenient location for hikes and scenic drives in the area. Thanks!

Cabin 3 is a perfect place to crash for a great night. It has all you need so you can just focus on planning your next big adventure. We call Cabin 3 one of our Camping Cabins because it is a simple, one-room cabin with two double beds, a small table, a heater & AC. Restrooms and showers are located a short distance away.
  • Great place to spend the night on a quick trip to the desert.

    Jordan2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was as described. Nothing fancy but it's an affordable place to stay. Johanna was very nice.

    Shane2019-11-08T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin was heaven on earth after 5 days of camping! The RV park is cute and full of character, the cabin is simple and cozy, and the camp showers are the cleanest I have EVER seen. I will totally stay here every time I’m visiting Escalante. Great to walk to 4th West for a beer and Circle D for breakfast too :)

    Daryl2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is very cute. The place was busy when I stayed so I did have neighbors but everything was very quiet. There was a fire pit outside which was the perfect touch. The heater inside the cabin will heat the cabin to where you will melt, so I turned it off in the middle of the night. The bathroom facilities are close and very clean. Overall a great place to stay!

    Diana2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at Canyon Escalante RV and Cabin park. The cabin was clean and a little bigger than picture made it look. Bathroom and laundry area was sparkling clean and close by. It was very close to several great restaurants (one next door) and in a good location for many hikes and sites! We would definitely recommend it.

    Judie2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful little cabin for anyone looking to stay in Escalante. It was sparkling clean when I arrived and all the amenities were as described. The check in process was also incredibly easy, and the woman working at the front desk was really friendly.

    Josh2019-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Just as described. Great location in town. Nice deck out front to watch the sun/stars!

    Ben2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • The absolute best part of the stay was the sheets, it felt like laying down in a field of clouds. Bathrooms were close by and very well maintained and the office was very helpful and friendly. We would definitely stay here again for another trip to Grand Staircase.

  • We highly enjoyed our stay. The internet is limited which I quite enjoyed. The location is remote and extremely quiet. We sat on the porch and watched the stars. Dinner at Sweetwater Kitchen exceeded my expectations. It was absolutely delicious. I would reccomend this place to anyone seeking a get away in the Boulder area. I can not wait to return.

    Donna2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • The guest house is amazing! The porch was my favorite place - the view was amazing, it was so serene and quiet, and you could see SO many stars at night. They had all the amenities you could need, as well as free coffee, tea and complementary breakfast. The staff was very nice. The room itself was a good size for one person, you could hear the people in the room below a bit, but was not a problem for sleeping. The bathroom was shared, but was very nice and clean. I would highly recommend this place!

    Virginia2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Overall we really like the lodge. We loved the remoteness, the cool log cabin vibe and the onsite restaurant, though we didn't use it because it closed early the night we were there. We would definitely stay there again!

  • Really great peaceful location on the edge of town. Immaculate space with everything you need. Very comfortable beds. Fantastic host. Couldn't ask for anything more!

  • Alena’s home is the perfect way to stay in comfort and see the Grand Staircase. Her house was located in a perfect spot to enter the monument and explore. The view from her deck is breathtaking. I enjoyed watching the sun rise over the Staircase while having my coffee. What a treat! Really an amazing place to stay in an extraordinary part of our country. Alena has all the comforts of home and we slept awesome! The kitchen has it all and we loved being able to eat home cooked meals while not at home. This is the place to stay if you aren’t roughing it! I will most definitely be staying here again.

    Regan2019-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful place! It is in a great location outside Escalante. The interior is beautifully decorated with a large and well-furnished kitchen. Alena is super easy to interact with...very quick responses and the check-in couldn't be easier. We loved our time there! So did our dog!

    Timothy2019-12-12T00:00:00Z
  • This house was a great choice for us! We could bring our dogs and there was a nice little backyard to let them out in. Home was cozy and kitchen had everything we needed!

    Maria2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • What a great place. Nice and cozy! I would highly recommend it. Great communication, easy access and great location!

    Allison2019-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • The view from The Southwest Retreat front porch is amazing. After spending the day exploring Bryce, Kodachrome, and the Petrified Forest - it was a great place to return to at the end of the day. The front porch beckoned, the star gazing kept me up late, but the hot coffee helped get me going the next day. A really well equipped kitchen, fast wifi, and super clean accommodations made this a place I would love to return to.

    Julie2019-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place, much better than having to get 2 hotel rooms. Cheaper too!!!

    Mike2019-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • Very peaceful! The home is on the outskirts of town (and a very small town at that) - in a very quiet area. It had great internet where I could work remotely, and the entire kitchen/living area is upscale and modernized, creating a great space to relax.

Upstairs you will see a large loft with a king size bed and a walkway that will take you to the upper deck. The Patio area is equipped with a large BBQ and patio table and chairs. The Barn is surrounded with lush lawn, fruit trees, historic barns, and a large garden.
  • Loved this place! Great location for hikes in Grand Staircase. Wonderful, historic building. Cozy wood burning stove. Quiet. Loved the dog and cat that came by for TLC. Loved the hot tub under the stars!

    Kim2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • The barn is fantastic. Escalante is a great place to get away form it all. We had fantastic time staying in mid-winter when it was 20 outside but we were very comfortable and cozy inside. It's a great location minutes away from a number of fantastic hikes and a great place to stop mid way through the amazing drive on UT 12. Bryce canyon is a short drive away as well. We also had a great time curling up on the couch and streaming some movies. You'll be glad you stayed here.

    Joe2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing!! Perfect place to go hiking in Grand staircase NP! Thanks Jenifer!

    Antoine2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • Escalante is an ideal location for everyone who enjoys the outdoors. The Wild West Retreat is absolutely beautiful. Jennifer is one of the best hosts that we have had in our travels. She provides breakfast supplies, which allows you more time to enjoy your vacation. If We return to Escalante, we will stay there again.

    Cynthia2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Really great place, very homey/rustic/robust construction, with wood-burning stove, full kitchen, nice hottub, grill out on the front porch/patio. Nice bed in a sleeping loft. No regrets, would stay at The Barn again!

    Dave2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Jennifer was prompt in communicating with me to answer my questions regarding her accommodations. Checking in was a breeze, even checking in at 10:30 pm! Walking in the door and seeing the beautiful wooden spiral stairs, kitchen bar and catwalk was so welcoming. The bed was so comfy and waking up with fresh eggs in the fridge for breakfast made me feel at home. There was wood ready for a fire to warm us in the morning, which made the room so cozy. We just lounge around and enjoyed the amazing concert barn and all its uniqueness. The property made me miss my hometown, so relaxed and beautiful. The fruit trees were full and yummy. The chickens roaming the yard was entertaining. At night we used the sparking clean hot tub, which was a relaxing end to a day full of hiking. The stars were so crisp and clear as we enjoyed the evening in the upper deck. Jennifer told us to take some fresh fruit from their trees home with us, which we did. I would love to return soon!

    Crystal2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Jenifer and Shannon were excellent hosts. They provided food for breakfast including fresh eggs from their chickens. They even shared some vegetables from their garden. They responded immediately to any questions we had. The place was really nice and we enjoyed eating on the roof deck. I would stay here again if we were in the area.

    Nancy2019-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • This place was beautiful. It was the perfect place to celebrate an anniversary. The house was clean when we got in. When we realized there wasn't any propane, Jenifer and Shannon came over to replace it within 5 minutes. Thank you for a great experience.

The Retreat is the perfect place to stay in Escalante. We are centrally located, just off the corner of Main and Center Street. With great walkability, businesses are just a few minutes away. We have an outdoor barbecue area and our house is children friendly. We have a stroller, high chair and toys for your little ones. Our home has wonderful views and is centrally located to many national and state parks. Come stay in our Historic home and enjoy the many surrounding sites.
We are almost right on Main Street. You can see Griffin's Grocery Store on Main from the porch. Everywhere is walkable from the Ranger House. Go to Main Street and head east. Nemo's takeaway has great burgers and sweet potato fries among other yummy fast food. There is a Subway in the gas station. About a quarter mile east is The Canyon Country Lodge if you care for a swim and hot tub for only 3.00. Heading west on Main you will encounter Mimi's Bakery for fresh home made pastries, take away lunch and dinner entrees. Coffee is free at Mimi's and the conversation is wonderful. There is an organic Mercantile Grocery Store, bank, post office and the Escalante Outfitters for the state liquor store and wonderful pizza. I love walking the perimeter of the town to see the scenery and homes.

  • This was a really fun and unique experience! A lot of great amenities, including access to the lodge, wifi, and breakfast. Definitely recommend experiencing it for yourself!

    Brittany2019-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • Had an awesome time staying in a secluded tipi! It was easy to find with the directions, we had an awesome dinner at Sweetwater Kitchen (make reservations) and the tipi was cozy with close bathrooms (showers were a very short walk away). Make sure to bring warm clothes if it's cold at night, the electric blanket helps a lot and we had a good night sleep despite the chilly October weather.

    Nate2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Overall a wonderful experience! It was a bit chilly the night we were there but we were well equipped with electric blankets and a space heater to keep us warm. It was great to disconnect in the tipi but have the option to enjoy wifi and finer dining at the lodge. The breakfast baskets were great for breakfast in bed! The only issue we encountered was due to the freezing temperatures, our outhouse toilet froze! So we had to go to the lodge to use the bathroom. Would definitely stay here again :)

    Kelsie-Kei2019-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay! Cannot even begin to describe how amazing the food was at the Sweet Water Kitchen. Definitely will be returning!

  • A unique stay - one that is allows to you really enjoy the natural surroundings. A comfortable stay and has all the necessary things to amp up your camping experience for a few days. Would defiantly stay again - especially to have dinner at the wonderful restaurant on the property!

  • I can’t wait to go back. The place is full of character, very comfortable, I wish I could’ve stayed longer and done more hikes in the area.

    Sab2019-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed in the large tipi and had an amazing time. It was so much more than I had expected. The lodge was so cute and convenient. The tipi itself was spectacular, super clean, and had amenities I wasn’t expecting like a fireplace (space heater) and a fan and water. The setting was ridiculously charming. Lots to explore for a nature lover. And the breakfast basket was great. Everything was so well put together. I’d definitely recommend this place!

Simple, comfortable and affordable sleeping arrangement in this cabin. There is a queen-size bed, a sofa hide-a-bed, both supplied with linens, and a 1/2 bath (toilet and sink). Towels, hand towels, and washcloths are provided. The Shower facility is conveniently located right behind the cabin. Fire pits, as well as a pavilion with BBQ charcoal stands are all handy outside the cabin. WiFi is available inside the cabin.
  • The shower room is separate, not far Just because the shower light is a timer, it can be turned off while washing.

  • This place is a camp ground with shared facilities for laundry and showers. The town has good places to eat and is a great location for all the state and national parks in the area. We really like the rustic cabin ambiance (cabin is actually relatively new). It fit the activities we wound up doing perfectly. Great value.

    Susan (Skye)2019-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great cozy spot and conveniently located near the showers. Staff are very friendly and helpful.

  • This was a great cabin. Next to shower and laundry. Clean. Next to coffee shop

    Shelley2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed this place. The amenities in the park are great (laundry, etc.), and the cabin was clean, cozy, and has a great deck for checking out the stars late at night. It's also really close to a lot of great hikes and viewpoints.

    Taylor2019-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • The bathrooms/showers that were available at the campground were the cleanest at any RV Park, or campground I’ve ever stayed at. There is also a great cafe and pub right next door that we ate at for basically every meal. The beds were comfy, and sheets were especially soft. This place is perfectly near everything, and was a great deal for the price. 10/10

Great experience spending a night in such a cabin instead of a motel/hotel, while road tripping in the USA. Jenae was really helpful to assist us with the sightseeing in the area and provide us with maps and information. Totally recommended!

It had everything we needed to feel comfortable during our one-night stay on our way to Moab; comfortable bed(s), full bath, refrigerator, and evap A/C. Jenae was very welcoming and provided a helpful overview of restaurants and services in town. I would definitely book again!

A great choice for a large group, especially one that enjoys cooking and congregating in the kitchen. Great communication from hosts, too.

    Céline2019-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • This was a really fun place to stay! The set up is great and balances solitude with good amenities - a solar shower but if it’s not quite your thing, there’s several indoor showers at the lodge you can use. The SweetWater Kitchen at the lodge did delicious food.

    Helen2019-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed one magical night in the Cowboy Tent! The stars are unbelievable, the food is amazing, the Lodge is stunning, can't say enough about this destination!

    Heaven2019-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • This place took my breath away. It's out of the way, but the drive is absolutely astounding. You might think you're lost but keep going. The lodge is nestled in a valley. It looks as beautiful as you'd think with the phrase "nestled in a valley." I couldn't believe it when we arrived. Everyone was very pleasant. There's a first class restaurant on-site. Breakfast was complimentary, good, real food. This is where you go when you want to check out for a while. The full moon did ruin our planned stargazing, but I think that one is on me. This was one of the highlights of our trip through southern Utah.

  • This Casita nestled up against Grand Staircase/Escalante was wonderful. It is beautifully decorated, had everything my friend and I needed for our little stay, was a quick walk to cafe's, and the best part to us: had stunning views of the National Monument area and spectacular night skies. We loved having the sunflower right outside the door - visited by Hummingbirds and Lesser Goldfinches. Very conveniently located to lots of National Monument activities/hikes. [Thanks, ladies, for a wonderful space to stay!]

Also, there's wifi, which we didn't have during most of the trip so that was nice to touch base with family back home. The attached bathroom was also a nice break from outhouses during our trip. It is very convenient to Boulder and Grand Staircase/ Escalante, as well as to the acclaimed Hell’s Backbone Grill. It was clean and comfortable—nice bedroom, bathroom and kitchen. Donna, the manager was very friendly and helpful.

  • Great place. very seamless.

    Matthew2018-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Very cool place to see! The food was outstanding. Unfortunately we arrived pretty late and had to leave early to start our. Wish we had more time to explore the ranch!

    Sara2018-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about the ranch is great, from the quiet location to the onsite restaurant. We were able to get a good nights rest before our trip to Moab. Breakfast at Sweet Water Kitchen was excellent! Do make sure to look up/clarify directions prior to driving to the ranch. It can be difficult to find, especially at night.

The "Bunkhouse" is our economy room! It is our least expensive room because of the small bed and small room size, and it works perfect for some people but if you want more space please pick a different room type. This room is our smallest room. It has a double bed, a small sitting area with a flat screen tv, cable, a mini fridge, microwave, and coffee pot. The bathroom has a big walk-in shower, toilet and vanity. We include "family-style" shampoo/conditioner, shower gel, lotion, hair dryer, and towels. This room is quiet and has just one back window with an air conditioning unit. The heater is a propane furnace. The parking is right in front of this room with only a couple of steps. Outdoor furniture is just outside the room on the porch where you can sit and enjoy your evening after your day of traveling or hiking.
Escalante sits in the middle of the Grand Stair-case Escalante National Monument. We are surrounded by vast amounts of "hidden treasures"!!! For those that are driving thru the area the scenery is wonderful just from the road; BUT for those that like to explore, you are in for a wonderful treat! The photography, hiking, fishing, biking, ATVing, etc is something that you will totally enjoy and you will come back year after year to explore more and more!!!

BedrocK Homestead is an ideal rental for those who embrace the remote. All-wheel-drive with Subaru clearance or better is necessary to reach the rock house. Rugged and secluded, this amazing stay is blasted into the Navajo Sandstone with dynamite! Settled on 40 acres of farmland, BedrocK Homestead is in the heart of The Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument.
This is an exclusive experience far from the crowds. Those who stay two nights are always glad, and those who book one night always wish they would have booked another! You will be visiting a working farm where we strive to produce as much of our own food as possible and sell products locally. You can hike on top of the house to see the surrounding ranch located in an environment of mystical beauty with expansive slick rock views. The hydroelectric rock house rests on the last proved-up homestead in the lower 48 states. Grant began blasting in 1995 and finished over the next eight winters. He learned to use dynamite working as a uranium miner in the late 70’s and did all the blasting and carving of the rock himself, completing the project with glass and floor professionals.
BedrocK Homestead is located inside The Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, a reverie of red rock canyons and lush riparian zones. Your stay is within walking distance of many popular trailheads for day hikes, fishing, and biking.
  • This Airbnb is much more that just lodging. Yes, there’s Grant’s easy, breezy hospitality, a stream to ford, stars that pop, and the kind of excitement that you haven’t felt since you were 10 years old that comes from spending the night in cave home with a corral of horses nearby. However, it was the opportunity to understand the place and people, both the history and current challenges, that made this stay especially fulfilling. This is a one of kind AirBnb experience that you should not pass up. Thanks, Grant and Gina, for making our trip so special.

  • Was an awesome stay! Value would have been better if Australian dollar stronger!!!! Beautiful area and grant gave great advice for things to see. :)

    Holly2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • WOW! The pictures on the listing do not do the place justice. The house is way bigger than we imagined. Getting there is also an adventure and we loved every second of it! Crossing a creek and hoping for the best on the first trip got us excited. After crossing the first time the other times were not that bad. There are sooo many great things to see in that area! Grant's guidance on where to go were super helpful. My wife is a Geologist and Grant and her were able to talk about the geology of the area and that made our trip that more special. We can't wait to come back and enjoy Grant and Gina's amazing hospitality with our children!

  • Thank You very much for having me and my friend. We had a great time! Nice Beans, Brazilian Grilling, Wine, company. Very good fireplace! All good! Thank you!

  • An amazing experience. The scenery and cave are spectacular.

    Michelle2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Hands down the ABSOLUTE BEST airbnb Ive ever stayed in my entire life. Grant is seriously the best host you can ever have. He's super friendly and offered us food and great spots to visit nearby. This place was the highlight of my trip. His cave is 10x better than the pictures shown on the site. The cave is huge and absolutely BEAUTIFUL. Also Grant's stories are so insane and unique. He also has the cutest cat named orange that loves to cuddle. This stay seriously could not get any better. Im already planning to come back!

    Arlinda2020-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • Sleeping beneath the lithified dunes of an ancient Jurassic desert is a sublime experience that you will remember for the rest of your life. The guest suite features two spacious bedrooms, living room, full bathroom, and private entrance. Watching the stars from the ‘roof’ is amazing. Grant is a fount of in-depth local information and has a really interesting history himself. Orange the cat should have Super Host status as well. Hands down—best AirBnB experience ever!

    Kenneth2019-11-05T00:00:00Z

Simple, comfortable and affordable sleeping arrangement in this cabin. There is a queen-size bed, a sofa hide-a-bed, both supplied with linens, and a 1/2 bath (toilet and sink). Towels, hand towels, and washcloths are provided. The Shower facility is conveniently located right behind the cabin. Fire pits, as well as a pavilion with BBQ charcoal stands are all handy outside the cabin. WiFi is available inside the cabin.
  • Amazing location. Check in was quick and we were given a rundown of the property, as well as a list of local eats and shops. The cabin we stayed in was a great size for just the two of us. The laundry and shower facilities are large and very very clean. Make sure you sit outside at night for some INCREDIBLE star gazing. Highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking. We will definitely be back.

  • Jenae’s cabin rental in Escalante is absolutely wonderful. Janae was an excellent host and gave great advise on the sites around the park. We actually opted to stay an extra day as we had such a wonderful time. We will definitely be planning another visit sometime in the near future.

  • Jenae makes sure every detail is covered for you and your stay in Escalante. She is accommodating, thoughtful and kind. Each small house is equipped to meet your need for adventure. If you don’t have what you are looking for talk with Jenae or Shelley and they will make your trip acceptable. I’ve been staying here for 5 years. If I don’t return on each trip, I feel like I’m missing family.

  • Comfortable and tidy space. We truly enjoyed our stay in Cozy Cabin #6. Appreciated the little bucket of goodies, coffee, scones, fruit, etc for breakfast. Check in was easy, very friendly folks. The bed was so comfy too! Tv, internet, shower, who could ask for more. My partner and I quite happy we stayed here. Thank you so much!

  • Escalante Cabins and RV Park offers anything and everything you might need during your stay in Escalante. Each cabin or casita is very thoughtful and cozy. It’s the perfect retreat from a full day of hiking and desert sun. We have stayed with Jenae several times now and she is a big reason we continue to come back. Escalante and seeing Jenae feels like coming home for us. 😊

Enjoy a Southern Utah adventure at The Old Bailey Place, a restored 1890 pioneer cabin with up-to-date amenities in the quaint town of Escalante, Utah. Midway between Bryce Canyon and Capital Reef National Parks, and in the middle of Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument, The Old Bailey offers an historic connection to the region. You will be within walking distance to restaurants, groceries, outfitting guides and stores.
In 2015 we embarked to renovate this pioneer home, built approximately 1890 and 7 miles from its current location, into a cozy space with modern-day amenities while retaining its authentic appeal. It took us a year and a half to build a foundation, plumb and wire it, sand and scrub, build cabinetry from barn wood, oil and paint, build furniture, and locate period pieces that were suitable for the feel of the cabin. There is a claw foot tub with a shower handle and a large, private outdoor shower with hot and cold water. A lovely spot to be, showering under the dark skies of this remote area of southern Utah. The cabin is surrounded by gardens. Stunning views of the nearby mountains are seen from within the cabin and from the front and back porches. While relaxing on the porch it is common to see tractors slowly roll down Center Street to the neighboring fields to the south. The sights and sounds of chickens, horses, cows, sheep and the multitude of bird and insect species fill your senses. The night skies are one of the darkest skies in the U.S. A multitude of hiking trails for all levels of experience are only minutes from the cabin. We can refer you to guides who takes you into off-the beaten paths of this ancient landscape either by foot or by horse. Escalante Petrified Forest State Park, 5 miles west of the cabin, offers opportunities for fishing, boating, swimming, picnicking and hiking. Bob has hiked this area for 40 years. He can provide you with current hiking tips, trail information, and advice on outdoor activity as the seasons change. We hope that your stay is an adventure and experience. We have created the space with that in mind.
The cabin is located in a quiet rural neighborhood. We are sensitive to the privacy of our neighbors.
  • Such a wonderful place. So charming and comfortable. Best place to stay in Escalante. Fresh baguettes were an amazing extra touch.

  • A lovely place; a little home on the prairie. And fresh baked bread on arrival! Modern convenience and amenities with frontier farm charm. Exceptionally clean. Style! Only wish I could have stayed longer.

  • While scrolling through airbnb looking for lodging for our Southwest trip, The Old Bailey place immediately jumped out and I knew I wanted to stay there. It was even better than we imagined. The cabin is beautiful and filled with thoughtful details, from the comfortable bed and the well-stocked kitchen to the vintage linens and walls decorated with birds and butterflies. Bob and Lisa’s generous welcome was greatly appreciated, particularly the freshly baked bread and the hiking suggestions. We loved taking showers outside under the stars after a day of hiking. We hope that our travels bring us back to this beautiful place!

    Laura2019-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • Do it ! What an amazing, special place! The restoration and Antiquities are humbling . Bob and Lisa have such beautiful intentions and are exceptional Host.. It was so amazing to feel so welcomed they went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was enjoyable.. The warm Artesian bread Bob baked and brought over was top notch. The hospitality from these folks will leave you feeling blessed...

    Holly2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful space in a cool town. Bob gave us wonderful recommendations on food and routes that made our trip unforgettable. Would definitely recommend the old Bailey house.

    Dillon2019-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • This is the perfect romantic getaway, the house is charming and peaceful. Bob was a great host with great local tips. You can definitely tell that they take pride in their space and have filled it with wonderful little touches.

    Laura2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • An absolutely charming space in the heart of red-rock country. The cabin is cozy, beautiful, comfortable and convenient. Perfect for a romantic getaway for two people, or for an uplifting retreat for one. The kitchen was as easy to use as mine at home. The style of the space was beautiful and thoughtful, both inside and out. I stayed four nights, and noticed new details every day I was there. There are plenty of outdoor adventures to be had within a short drive of Escalante, and a few trails easily accessible right from town. Stunning scenery, and a comfortable space. I felt pampered receiving fresh-baked bread and a basket of snacks ready for my backpack from the host. I let the breezes waft through at night, and heard coyote calling in the distance. The yard feels very private, making the outdoor shower fun to use when it was warm enough. And there was plenty of hot water to fill the tub. One of my favorite AirBNB spots I've encountered yet.

My place is good for couples and families (with kids). The house has a living room, fully equipped kitchen one bathroom, and two bedrooms with queen size beds on the main level. Down stairs in the basement it has one bedroom with a queen size bed, one bedroom with a single bed, and a common area with a sofa couch and single bed. We also have a huge yard with tons of fruit trees and a beautiful patio area.
  • We have now stayed on Jenifer and Shannon's property twice, as a family. One of us coming from California, three from Colorado, two from Northern Utah. All six adults - two couples, two singles - met in Escalante and stayed in this house. I thought it might feel too crowded, but it did not. More than one bathroom would be great, but other than that, we never felt cramped. There is lots of room to spread out - and so much welcoming outside space, too. We stayed for three days and two nights, and cooked big breakfasts as a family using the kitchen and available dishes, pots, pans, etc. We ate outside in the back, where there was plenty of room, as well as lots of farm animals wandering around. On the front porch there is a perfect spot for sitting and thinking, or sitting and talking. Lots of kitchen equipment and even food staples available for use. Washer and dryer in house is a huge bonus, especially with all the messy outdoors activities. Jenifer and Shannon are friendly, respectful, available and full of information on the area if you are interested (if you aren't, they won't get in your hair). At this place, you will feel like part of the community, instead of just random tourists passing through. Easy walk to downtown outfitters, restaurants, and convenience stores. Lots of pretty country roads for biking, just blocks away, if you are so inclined. We were able to store two bikes in the basement; there is lots of room, and easy entry in the rear of the home. We will absolutely come again. It feels like a home away from home.

  • The Wild West Retreat takes you back in time but has the comforts of modern A/C and an updated bathroom. It was very clean and the host had an extra touch with milk, bread, and some fruit waiting for us. Our kids loved seeing  the pig and chickens in the back yard. We would definitely recommend staying here!

    Terry2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • A super getaway in a small town. The Pioneer home can host a large party of travellers. A bunkhouse and a 2 story loft cabin were also available. We stayed in the Pioneer cabin and found the kitchen and bathroom well stocked with all the conveniences. You may not be staying in for long however with all the great attractions around the town of Escalante! Hostess Jenifer was great to talk with; she always made herself available to us. Her animal friends on the grounds (several friendly chickens, a pot bellied pig, cats, a rooster etc) added to a fun atmosphere of a relaxing retreat. Highly recommended!

    Heath2019-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great stay here while visiting Bryce Canyon and Grand Staircase-Escalante. It’s like staying at a farm (complete with roaming chickens and a charming pig), but you’re right around the corner from restaurants, gas, etc.

    Jesse2019-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • This place is fantastic! Such a great property for kids to play out back. The house itself is old but in great condition which makes it unique and feels authentic to the area. Jenifer is a great host as well.

    Brian2019-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • Our youth group rented the pioneer home and bunkhouse and used the orchard for some tents. It was an absolute perfect basecamp for our group after long days exploring the nearby canyons. We returned in the evenings and enjoyed the kitchen, bathrooms, TV, shaded orchard for hammocks, tents and lawn games, farm animals, and large patio area to spread out and enjoy dinner. It could not have worked out better four our group and we would not hesitate to return. Thanks for your hospitality and flexibility with accommodating our group!

    Craig2019-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • Our second time staying here was just as great. We missed the apples from last fall but loved the beautiful fragrant apple blossoms. After our amazing hike our family of 7 came in to clean up and rest. I was surprised that there was more than enough hot water. The kids were then able to play out in the grassy orchard while we relaxed. We’ll be back!

  • Five minutes up the road from Boulder, this was a perfect home base for our adventures in Escalante. The kitchen was well stocked, the rooms spacious and immaculately clean, and it was so helpful to have laundry! Plenty of books and games, cozy blankets, a big TV and a cost living room with a fireplace. Make sure you contact the hosts well before you get there as there’s no cell service near the house!

    JulieAnna2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • It's a great place for larger groups that want to be close to Hell's Backbone Grill & Farm (it's a must visit restaurant, absolutely fantastic. Go for breakfast and dinner!) and the surrounding area. The house is well away from any neighbors on a very quiet street, we didn't see or hear anyone during our stay. The entire house was spotless, there were lots of towels and plenty of bedsheets. Easy parking for 3 cars. Big living room and kitchen as well as a cozy family room with a TV tucked into the back of the house. Two minor issues; there is only one kitchen knife. Plenty of cutlery but no way for more than one person to chop anything. Also, there wasn't any bath soap anywhere in the house, we had to go buy some.

  • Very stylish cabin/tiny home in Escalante. Everything looks very new, sleek and comfortable. Very nice to have the washer/dryer if you’re on a long trip, and the patio is nice to sit out on and look at the mountains. The mattress is so soft and comfy.

  • Great place to stay if you are exploring the Escalante area. Close to town and all the great hiking the area has to offer. The Tiny Houses are nicely appointed and well maintained. We stayed in Wild Rose and it is beautiful with nice views overlooking the neighbors horses and mountains in the distance. Very peaceful and relaxing. Hope to return for a longer stay!

  • The tiny home was very modern and clean. Great amenities. The bbq and fire pits were great additions too. Location is convenient to the town of Escalante and it was a great place to stargaze and sip on hot cocoa provided.

Cabin 1 has three beds with linens, and it's close to our bathroom facilities. It also has it's own personal parking right next to the cabin and we have 4-5 good restaurants within walking distance! It IS one of our dry cabins, so only beds are inside. We furnish clean towels, and reliable WiFi. The porches are on the east side of the cabin so they create shade and a perfect space to relax after all your day's adventures. Fire pits, pavilions, picnic tables, BBQ stands are available too!
  • If you’re looking for a place to stay while exploring Escalante, this is the place to stay!

  • Perfect place. Has all you need + the extra "camp feeling" but with comfortable beds. Short ride to all the crazy stoney rocky narrow utah things you can imagine. Got really helpful tips for our day in this crazy nature.

  • The cabin is perfect if you love to camp. It is the perfect size, and the bathroom is really close to it and is really clean. I would definitely come back and stay here again!

  • Cabins are clean. If you get the chance to come here quickly, James who is in charge of the camp is a very helpful guy who will provide you all the right information to visit peekaboo and spooky. He drives us also on the dinosaur path. We have had a very exciting day in his company. Can’t have been better!!!!

  • We love our cabin and the open space to enjoy. The shared outhouse facility is new, clean and spotless. Ryan is wonderful in giving us clear tips and details for local hikes and attractions

  • Ideal place to spend a few nights and go hiking in the Capitol Reef or in the surrounding area. Cabin was clean and perfectly adequate, showers and toilets although central, but new and clean. Lower Creek Falls are highly recommended!

Built from reclaimed cabin wood, it is a cozy, rustic cabin with sleeping arrangements for 5 people. An attached bathroom, twin over double bunk bed and a twin over twin bed provides for affordable sleeping arrangements. There is no TV but there is good WiFi, heat and cooling and a picnic table and fire ring for this cabin.
  • Wonderful place to stay. So close to some amazing slot canyon hikes. Very cosy and warm. 10/10 recommend. Janae is super accommodating also, very quick to respond and help you with anything. Wonderful host.

  • Good option to stay either overnight or extended to explore Escalante area. Rooms easily sleep 4, maybe 5 (if there's a couple between them). Option to have a fire made outside. Area has Slot Canyons and beautiful nature. "Hole in the rock Rd" starts here.

  • Had a great time!

  • I was BEYOND impressed with the personal touches! My husband "secretly" (i.e. I had no idea) reached out to see if they could do something for my birthday. They went ABOVE and BEYOND! I screamed in delight when I opened the door. They didn't have to, yet they went out of their way to make me feel special. Further, the place was clean, the shower hot, and just as depicted on the profile. Thanks for a great stay!
