Barn vacation rentals in River Dart

Beautiful property, extremely spacious and well appointed. Lovely welcome from Paul and the cake on arrival was a nice touch. We come down most years to the area to visit our friends nearby. Whilst we were here this time we visited Bude, Lanhydrock, Hawkers Hut and St Austell, all of which were no more than an hour. The barn was spotless with all we needed for a great stay.

Amazing break away from London city life. Amazing host and the property is flawless. Highly recommend getting a supermarket delivery to the property.

Our second time staying here and we loved it just as much as the first time. A home away from home! The cottage is lovely, cosy, and clean with plenty of space as a family of 6 and a dog. Giles was really helpful and we loved all the local recommendations and walks. The location is perfect. Can’t wait to return next year!

The Apple Loft is a magical little cottage that has everything that you need and offers a perfect way to reside in the Cornish countryside. The kitchen held all utensils and things you might require, there was a little private outside area, and the atmosphere was very quaint and peaceful. Kate was super helpful in her instructions. 10/10 would recommend.

Just got back from Exmouth following stay in Kate's place. Really enjoyed our stay. Everything we needed. Place was warm and cosy. First time away with dog and no problems. After a a day of walking perfect to come back to. Would highly recommend and will be on our list to return to. Jane and family

The views from Cider Barn are so beautiful. We watched a barn owl hunting over the fields at dusk and dawn and the sound of a tawny owl whit wooing as I was going to sleep was magical! The living room / kitchen / dining is light and open plan and when I was there the sun was streaming in from sunrise to sunset. Loved watching the sunset with the owl hunting! Really enjoyed my stay here. It's an old barn - so the floor boards are a bit creaky but it is a special place.

This is a wonderful place to stay! The accommodation was perfect and Sandra had thought of all the little extras including the best homemade biscuits! The little garden is just lovely and having the sheep, goats, pigs and chickens nearby to show to the children is such a bonus! The sense of peace and the beautiful views make this one of the loveliest places I have ever stayed :)

Penny and Paul were the perfect hosts. We have fallen in love with the Threshing Barn and all of their lovely animals. They are both incredibly passionate about their animals and are very knowledgeable about the local area, giving amazing recommendations (the Black River Inn did not disappoint!). The home was spotless and loads of information provided about things to do. We have already recommended it to lots of family and friends and we are planning our next visit. The evening won’t be the same without our trip to say goodnight to the animals !! Thank you so much Penny, Paul, George, Florence, Alfred, Pinky, Hugo, Gabriel, Merlin and all others !! X

We had a fantastic night at the Shippon. We loved the style of the property and felt very relaxed whilst there. We got some nice food from Bens farm shop which is just 10 minutes drive away. We enjoyed a couple of nice circular walks from the village along lanes and bridleways. The plant nursery up the road is worth a visit if you enjoy gardening/plants.

Wonderful quirky place to stay with the family, lots of outdoor activities that kept us busy, sauna was a novelty. The children loved the animals especially collected and eating freshly laid eggs. Great place for a little family adventure. Beds were comfy and it was really peaceful sitting by the fire pit toasting marshmallows in the evenings.

Very comfortable stay and both quiet and peaceful. Well equipped, everything worked, a fabulous wood burner (plus electric radiators) along with an ensuite for each bedroom ensured a happy long weekend. Parking for two cars very helpful indeed. My second visit in two years.

We and the kids loved our stay in the Long Barn. Louise was super helpful and the accommodation was perfect for our week away with the family. The girls loved saying hello to the goats in morning and exploring the farm to find the geese, sheep and chickens. Lovelly place x

We are very happy and pleased with our stay at Leanne’s place - 5/5. Everything was great except that some frying pans and saucepans were dirty. The house was extremely nice and cosy and we really liked it the whole family. Leanne was an excellent host and responded immediately when we had questions. She also gave us cakes and chocolate treats when we arrived, a very thoughtful gesture 🙏.

Having reviewed lots of places to stay in Dartmoor National Park, Claire's place stood out immediately and this was evident throughout out stay. The location is fantastic and Claire's attention to detail with handy notes and fantastic communication was superb! A perfect little getaway spot just what we were after.

My friend and I loved our stay at Monty's. The house is beautiful and everything is in its place and spotlessly clean. Maria had left us some really useful walking guides, and one of them led us to possibly the most stunning walk we had ever been on (Salcombe to Bolt Head). It was such a lovely gesture to find a yummy chocolate cake waiting for us on arrival, too. The bath was also a real treat, particularly after a long coastal hike! Thank you very much for having us, Maria, we hope to be back again! X

We really loved our stay in Otter’s Den, it was perfect for a family meet up. All of the facilities (pool, games room, park etc) were a great bonus. We also appreciated the lovely grounds (lake and woods) and meeting the animals was lovely for the kids. Otter’s Den itself is a beautiful property and we loved the big windows for sitting in the sun. It was well equipped with thoughtful touches such as kids toys, everything you need in the kitchen and various extra baby/child items available on request prior to arriving. Max and his family were also very friendly, helpful and welcoming. We would definitely recommend and love to stay again in the future!

Katie was very friendly and welcoming. The Granary was immaculate and every little detail was thought of. Even though it was a working farm, it was very peaceful and the views were wonderful over the Tamar Valley. Of course the animals headed up by Ruby stole our hearts. It was every thing we needed and wanted.

We were a group of ladies and we loved Sarah's place. The house is beautiful, very homely with everything we needed. Comfy beds, nice bathrooms, great showers, lovely and warm. Lots of little extra touches. The pool was fab and we had fun in the games room. We would definitely recommend and will definitely return.

We know Marldon well with Family located very nearby. The property is small and compact but suited the two of us perfectly. If you were staying longer than a weekend you would probably look for some external space, but its perfectly formed and well thought out with the provision of its facilities,. The breakfast with its quality bread, butter jam and marmalade was a nice touch. Overall a pleasant, value for money, stay. Thank you Sally.

Lovely setting - views for miles and looked lovely even in the pouring rain. We wanted a peaceful couple of days to unwind and we were so comfortable we didn’t feel the need to do loads which was unusual but amazing. It had everything we needed and some things we didn’t know we needed and Morrisons at the bottom of the road was a bonus!!!

A beautiful and quaint air BnB, perfect location for exploring South Devon. The accommodation had everything we needed for two adults and a small dog. The hosts were very helpful when we had a query and were very friendly and welcoming when we arrived and left.

Spent the week at Michael and Caroline’s cosy barn and couldn’t have asked for a better time. Such a serene location where you’re immersed in nature. It was lovely to hear the birds chirping, the river running and the wind through the trees. The barn itself was very cosy, especially the new king size bed they’ve put in. The underfloor heating in the kitchen and bathroom was a nice surprise. The host themselves provided clear instructions on how to use the facilities and this made things so much easier. Only a couple of days into our stay we had already decided we’d be coming back.
