Unique Yurt in the Mountains!

JohnRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
This retreat is even better than the description and photos. It is extremely private, surrounded by the woods and rolling hills of Floyd county--exactly what we were hoping for! The yurt was beyond our expectations, or even hopes. It's furnished with everything you need for a stay of a weekend or more, and somehow there's still a ton of space. We wanted for literally nothing. We visited the creek twice, and Gabe (our Pyrenees) loved playing in the water and running around the shore. The yurt is very dog friendly, and Gabe loved the duck jerky Jessica had left for us. The weather was a _little_ uncooperative, so we didn't get to enjoy the deck or firepit like we'd hoped in the evening, but the accommodations were so outstanding we barely noticed. I can't recommend high enough--my only reluctance is that more people might discover this gem and we aren't able to find open dates on the calendar to book it again soon!

Cold Spring Farm & Cottage

James’s place was perfect for our family of three. We were in town for an event at Virginia Tech, and this place was just what we wanted. Absolutely beautiful and convenient location. The place was comfortable and nicely decorated. It felt like home.

My fiancé and I had a great stay here! We came down for the VT graduation. It was a good getaway from the crowds in Blacksburg, providing some privacy & great views. We would definitely stay here again in the future!

Thx for great hospitality Rosalie and Chris! We had all meals outside and the kids ended up playing outside and exploring nature uninterrupted for our entire stay (what more can you ask for?) and we had some incredible wildlife experiences at dusk&dawn with all the animals coming out👌😊

Bright & Cozy Family-Friendly Home 15 min to VT/RU

KathlynRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Easy to get to! Comfortable for all. 3 full baths made it easy to shower in good timing. 19 yr old twins enjoyed the privacy of the downstairs. Unfortunately our trip was cut short with car issues and arrival times. We paid way too much but that was not the fault of the hosts. Husband and son Arrived a day late and left a day early 🤦‍♀️They were responsive and helped with our car issues. Very friendly and live near which was helpful.

Home away from home

Bring your bubble bath so you can soak in the amazing deep jetted tub! The bed was super comfy, nice full size fridge and stocked kitchen, I felt at home. Really beautiful area neighborhood and home. Not too far from Virginia Tech and it was very easy to get an Uber (not too costly either). Robin was so nice, very pleasant, and a fabulous host. Highly recommend! Would stay again!

Hokie Hideaway

ChristinaRating, 5 stars5 days ago
What a great little getaway! Kathy was a great host, and made sure to be available if we needed anything. The cottage is adorable and practical. I visited with my teen-aged kid, who loved the loft. The main floor queen bed was very comfortable! The sun shining in through the windows in the morning was *magical* The location is great, so tucked away but not exactly in the middle of nowhere. Blacksburg is a quick drive away if you want to go to town, and there are so many outdoor adventures you can go on in the area. Huckleberry trail is super close, and Pandapas pond/ Jefferson National Forest isn't too far! It was great coming back to such a cute, comfy place at the end of the day. Very much recommended!
