The famous Pozo Azul River is just a few steps away from the property, a small stream of crystal clear waters within a magnificent completely private secondary forest that can be explored by its trails both day and night. Large property, with nice gardens and a rustic cabin that offers everything you need to rest.

Stay here!!! I think this was my favorite air bnb of all time. The architecture is stunning, it feels very large for an a frame, close to all of the best spots in Puerto Viejo, there is an abundance of wildlife, and Stephanie is very friendly and accommodating. So many perfect details in this home from brass accents to tile work to cozy pillows and linens. Make sure to walk down to the river, and if you wait quietly the turtles will swim up and sunbathe on the shore. There are also some otters who have a den down there so if you hear a barking sound that’s them! Tucans hang out in the parking lot early morning and you can watch them eat fruit while sipping your coffee. My only considerations when booking is it is located down a steep dirt hill. I don’t think I would go down in a small car- if you have one park at the top of the hill and walk down. Was fine with our 4wd and I think a dirt bike could make it up and down comfortably too if you want to rent one.

We loved our stay at Casa Bambu. Our hosts Marianela and her mother Cecilia were very accommodating and helpful with recommendations. The view off the porch was spectacular, we saw many birds and heard howler monkeys almost every morning. We would definitely recommend this rental to our friends and hope to come back and visit next time we're in Sarapiqui!
